  1. I don't have a choice. There's something about your Dad taking you to the Kop at age five that stops you supporting anybody else, plus 50,000 mates would give me a hard time. However, that doesn't mean we should not express ourselves. There is something wrong right now, some of the senior players are off their game (and some like Sami and Steve F may never get back on it!) and it's clear that we've made some bad buys - we've put names on shirts, not quality. Gonzalez, Aurelio, Zenden, and probably penant are not Champonship winning qualit. Let's face it!
  2. We all know it! Gerrard should be playing in the centre. Sami is great but past it. Neither Gonzalez, Pennant, Aurelio nor Zenden have the quality to hold a place in a Championship winning team. It's November and the season is over as far as the title is concerned. So what's the plan? Here's what I would do! 1) bring in Agger for a lengthy run 2) expose any of our promising youngsters to the first team. Let's blood 'em 3) start the clear out in January - and sorry - Robbie was nice to have around but emotion took over from judgment 4) pray for a couple of good Cup runs 5) there's always next year 6) hope this year sees us with financing in place and ground broken on the new Anfield
  3. I was at the same school as George. He's an ace! Smart, witty, and he loves the club. No need for a change!
  4. Does it occur to you that this may have been orchestrated by the club, and not just someone shooting their mouth off? A verbal kick up the arse for a bunch of underperforming  players, a clear warning to the likes of Pennant, and no wedge betwen Rafa and he team! Good move in my view!
  5. This team is playing without heart, without belief, and without balls! They need someone to kick shit out of them in training and put some fight in them. United wre faster to almost every ball! Where are ou hard men? These are Wirrral wimps not scousers!
  6. What's the problem with OOTs? It's homage to the Reds and the spirit and culture (seriously) of the city of Liverpool. Being a scouser is a privilege and an accident of nature, and widely admired, if somewhat sardonically in some quarters. The club stands for the "no bullshit", let your feet do the talking attitude that people admire in every walk of life, so for me, if they were unluckly enough to be born in Brum or Dagenham, god bless 'em for their aspirations to join the greatest tribe on earth. We'll ever walk alone and all are welcome!
  7. True, but Newcastle were always "good guys". Now they seem to get everything wrong, and in my view view, deserve better than their Board and management deliver. Frustration everywhere!
  8. First of all a bust-up in the Anfield tunnel involving Bellamy, followed by a similar incident involving "Newcastle Staff" and Diouf. Are they just a bunch of bad losers or is there something more sinister?
  9. The biggest problem with the rotation system is ....nobody is playing for their place! Every player except one or two knows they are going to be "rotated" i.e., dropped, whether they have a good game or not. Under these conditions, where's the incentive to "hold onto your place". There's no competing for places and on Saturday we saw the effect on the field....no competing for balls either. Rotation is for highly paid, over-contracted "professionals". Give me a player who plays for his place any f*ckin' day!
  10. If we can forget the fact that we lost 1-0 to a wonder goal from a player we generally despise, and we calmly look at the facts.............we outplayed them in practically every department of the game. Sure, some of our players were below par, but look at the way we eclipsed Lampard, Shevchenko, Ballack, Makalele etc. They have Petr Cech to thank we didn't equalize (the fair result on the play in my book!) All in all, we have closed the quality gap by a mile. The results will follow. Keep the Red faith!
  11. They still are shite! only the price has changed!
  12. Is it just me, or have we been just hustled off our game in the Premier so far this season? Sheffield United had no class, but they worked harder than us, same for West Ham, and the Blues ran us off the park yesterday. Their chasing and tackling back made us look asleep. I'm wondering if we are taking these games too much for granted....5 times European champs, F A Cup winners, all the new talent....we are just too cool for our own good! We NEVER were made to look second best in effort, but it's happened three times this season already!
  13. You are absolutely right. I have been in there three times and walked out with nothing every time. Out of stock, couldn't give a shit service, and an impression of penny pinching on costs. Just a lousy impression of the club and the city. I was mad and a little bit ashamed! The secret of a culture is in the details. The store is in a class with Hartlepool not Liverpool!
  14. Yeah, I hope so.....somewherte between his shoulder blades!!!
  15. Who could forget him? Great ball player in the best tradition of Scottish inside forwards. Clever player and inspired Liverpool during the transition from Liddellpool! My condolences and sympathy to Jimmy's family
  16. What about Peter Crouch....good first half.....great winning goal!!!!!
  17. Not every signing. I was very disappointed with Gonzales. He gave the ball away too often, and let West Ham threaten us when we could have killed them off. I can't see him in the side if Harry's fit!
  18. You make a number of good points, but shouldn't we have selected a team that would have handled the situation better. Rafa got it wrong and then injuries prevented him fixing it!
  19. It's about fotball...cunt face....keep your politics out of it!
  20. HI, Dave....I'm a Liverpool born and raised Red who moved to the US in 1978. I live in Chicago, get back to the 'Pool once a year or so....thank God for Fox Soccer Channel.....and correspond with Roy Yates in Florida from time to time. Found your site following a comment I saw elsewhere. I sit and laugh and think I'm back in some alehouse In Liverpool. The comments are beautifully unvarnished!
  21. Players grow up.....just look at Lee Bowyer!
  22. I think it's clear there's still money left if we are bidding for Duff. I'd rather see it spent on Alves and it may be this is just hint to Sevilla.
