  1. Here's Joey Barton making a complete and utter twat of himself doing a Schteve McLaren. Foot Mercato - news
  2. Don't get me wrong mate, I'm not trying to play down what he's done at all. I think he's been very, very impressive. I was merely trying to point out that he's gone to a club that has a clear blueprint for what they are trying to achieve and everyone that goes to the club has to fit into that and not the other way round. Each change of management at West Brom in recent years hasn't resulted in a new 5 year plan or a change of direction which will take years to implement. For me it doesn't matter that much if it's a DOF or not as long as the club is clear as to the direction it is taking and it gets the right people into the structure that they want to adopt. West Brom have done that. It will be interesting to see what happens after Dan Ashworth goes to the FA next summer.
  3. Their success is as much to do with their structure as it is to do with Clarke. Dan Ashworth has effectively been Director of Football and each of the managerial appointments while he's been at the club have all been people who have been happy to work within that system. I'm not saying a DOF system is the way to go, but it's evidence of a club that has a vision of how it wants to operate and then puts that vision into practice. Which is pretty much the opposite to ourselves. We seem to be playing the 'DOF Okey Cokey' and the vision for the future changes almost every 6 months.
  4. That's actually what the Swansea fan said to be fair, but he did seem to think he was a Rodgers blue eye, similar to Allen.
  5. I was speaking to a Swansea fan before the League Cup game the other week who was convinced Williams would eventually end up here. I guess these comments make that less likely, to say the least. He's also just given Rodgers his team talk ahead of Sunday's game.
  6. I might have dreamt this but I was under the impression that the city council (Liverpool) were supposed to be sending out a booklet which set out what each candidate's manifesto was? Voter apathy is probably at an all time and this has done nothing to change that.
  7. This is the first time that I haven't voted. The polling cards came through a few weeks back, but we've had sweet FA from anyone saying who the candidates are and what their intentions would be if they were elected. A farce doesn't even begin to describe it.
  8. Just because you keep repeating something, it doesn't change the fact that you're totally wrong. Again.
  9. In fairness, the changes he made at half time in the Derby changed the game as we were getting overrun at the end of the first half. He's got a few things wrong and I think he talks too much sometimes and this led to him mishandling the Carroll situation, but there are things that I'm optimistic about. He's handled the kids brilliantly and Brad Jones is improving game by game and I believe that's down to the confidence Rodgers has given him. He does need to be careful about persisting with players who aren't playing well though. I think Allen's gone right off the boil and looks low in confidence and it hasn't really clicked for Sahin yet.
  10. He never has and its done my head in for years. You would think that now the wider public are aware of what has gone on, that he wouldn't be anywhere near our games, but he is and it fucking stinks.
  11. How the fuck has that twat got one of our games?
  12. Bollocks. You wouldn't know Anfield even if you were parachuted on to Walton Breck Rd with a road map, sat nav and a photo of the kop, you complete and utter phony.
  13. I buy my weight gain stuff from supermarkets. I find they sell nicer beer than pharmacists.
  14. See that's the bit I've got a problem with. I think he's really talented, but a lot of players never recover fully after such a long period out and if they do it takes them a while. And a while is something we haven't got with Sahin. For me, the money we're spending on his wages could have been better spent elsewhere, rather than paying for one of Real Madrid's players to recuperate for a year.
  15. However poor the pastoral care is, it's nowhere near as poor as the care in the community you're receiving.
  16. He's an alien, He's an illegal alien, He's a bellend on Everton Rd.
  17. This is heartbreaking and it's another legacy of the Hillsborough cover up that people are going to the their grave without knowing exactly what happened to their children, parents or siblings. The people responsible for the cover up are despicable bastards and I hope they rot in hell.
  18. That was outstanding. He mentioned a lot of people who have helped in the quest for justice and neglected to talk about the huge part he played.
  19. That was the first one I saw at the pictures. Late 70's, early 80's? Christ I feel old.
  20. Dave Kirby once looked at a map, And he couldn't figure out where Denmark was at. Copenhagen, he thought Was where Edam was bought, Which made Pete a right Dutch Twat.
  21. Sorry to point this out but I don't think the maintenance worked. The xerxes virus is still posting.
