Potter isn't a good manager. He's a good coach. To manage, you need gravitas, balls, the ability to lead a large number of people, and the tenacity to stick to your principles no matter how much external pressure is being placed on you. He hasn't shown any of that, let alone for a global player like Liverpool. Rodgers would have had the same things said about him had he stayed at Swansea a few more seasons.

So, with a weakened midfield, a good call is to give a largely untested 22 year old a go in defence? Against a side Klopp lauded as one of the trickiest we'll face this season? I'd bet any money Klopp would put Matip back in if he could wind back the clock. As I say, one of his worst decisions.

I was complaining before the game, and us winning had almost fuck all to do with him. I certainly didn't want or expect him to play versus Brighton. Especially given the midfield options.

18/19 was pretty much all Matip and VVd wasn't it? As for Konate ahead of him, it's because he's been earmarked for left side, and Konate right side. Klopp talked about this in pre season.
