I work in a dental office where we deal with alot of nervious patients. My advice would be to call around your local dentist's to try and find out if anyone use's something called a wand (and no thats not a dildo). This is a painfree numbing injection that release's the numbing agent alot slower than a normal injection which make's it painless. The next thing I'd do would be to take an Ipod with you, as it seems alot of patient's are more scared of the sound of the drill than the drill itself. Now if it's a case of your scared to even walk throught the door see if the dentist will give you some Valium (we do) and this certainly helps because at the end of the day most of the problem is nerves, so if you can take them out of the equation, everyone's happy. And one last thing don't be embarresed if you have bad teeth, dentist don't really care what your teeth are like, infact they make more money off bad teeth. Your right Americans are brought up to be alot more patriotic, than the English. But thats not always a good thing, I believe that alot of the time it's the reason that so many Americans are ignerant about world politics. They just don't care unless it has a direct effect on themselves. I live in Kentucky right now but have spent alot of time all over the US, and just watching the news over here brings it home on how cut off this country really is, it's scary. The reason news networks don't show more international news is because, no one would watch it and at the end of the day they need viewers to stay on the air. They also have to be careful what they do show because it's considered a sin to be unpatriotic over here and that would certainly effect ratings. So it's almost a vicious circle if you like, It's not a case that everyone is clueless overhere, because their not. It's just a little bit harder to stay informed and was probably even harder before the internet. There are many good things as well about being Patriotic, It's just important not to let it blinker your views to much. I know it sounds like I hate America, but I don't I promise (especially if anyone from imergration is reading this)
