  1. For what he did? Yes, I'm glad. But in the mid 90s he single handedly got me back into boxing for the first time since I was a kid, so I have something of a soft spot for him and wish his career had turned out differently.
  2. You've seen the squad, right?
  3. Rodward's turned up on another thread as well hasn't he? How convenient..
  4. Precisely. It's pack up and go home time, 05 Milan.
  5. That's up to you. You're the one missing out on all the funniest captions.
  6. Don't you wish they'd make a real version of speedball? You could use old people with terminal diseases.. (c Bill Hicks)
  7. I think that if we had received the Morientes and Cisse that we looked at in the brochure, they would be one of the most fearsome strike partnerships in the world, you would be right and Peter may not get a look in. Crouch, on the other hand, is a better player than the one we saw in the brochure, so he'll get the nod every time..
  8. Gospel style or Aled Jones style?
  9. I think that team with Crouch for one of the two up top is a no-brainer really. It's the team that Rafa plays when everyone is fit. At the risk of opening a can of worms, you putting that team is pointless apart from getting your point across that you wouldn't play Crouch.
  10. Can't believe it was 21 years ago. Scary, horrible event. RIP
  11. Hell yeah. Am going to be like a little kid from the moment the coverage starts to the moment I fall asleep in a puddle of my own euphoric vomit.
  12. We'll agree to disagree, but I think a case can be argued for the Gallaghers, Brownie, and Ian Curtis. Morrissey and Bowie I can see why they are there, but wouldn't call them rock 'n' roll stars. Elvis, Keith Richards, Chuck D are shocking ommissions. Think Shaun Ryder should be in for sheer shambolicness too..
  13. I can't help thinking that Britpop killed NME and MM more than the internet has. When Oasis, Blur and Pulp were in their pomp, the music press had bands that they genuinely rated who gave extremely entertaining press. Put Oasis on the cover and circulation tripled. Since interest in those bands has waned, the press have consistently tried to overhype any old crap in a desperate attempt to create a buzz around a band. This totally neglects the fact that a Pistols, Smiths, Roses or Oasis comes along once every 6-10 years. Their circulation was falsely high ten years ago, and I can't help feeling that if they got back to what they did best 10 years ago plus - gobshite journalists who, while impossible conceited, were entertaining, opinionated and owned more than 9 albums - they would have higher circulations when the next great band does emerge.
  14. It is a bad smiley. And a strangely irrelevant one. Note to self....check later posts on YNWA to see if 400 people from here already knew that the Count was a whore before posting here like the big man..
  15. Well you bring shame to lovely root vegetables.
  16. Have to say, Kurt being at #1 makes me angry too. I loved Nirvana as a band, In Utero was their best album which makes his death all the more tragic, but the more I read about him the more I realise he was a snivelling little twat. And where's Chuck D? Stoopid list.
  17. Just try and see the world in glorious technicolour rather than black and white. It's not as simple as someone saying Torres is shit and Ashton good. The same goes for he who cannot be named (by you. I'm fine. It's Peter Crouch). Maybe people feel that: a) Torres is overrated and therefore not worth the 20 million which would decimate our transfer budget b) He's not right for our system and therefore not worth the money c) He's not right as a personality and therefore not worth the money d) Ashton would be relatively cheap, would fit our system, be desperate to play for us and is Premiership proven e) You can play fantasy football and it doesn't necessarily get results. A prime example are the Galacticos.. f) Crouch wouldn't get in many World XIs, but see the point above. He works for us. Deal with it. And stop masquerading as a political prisoner who has been silenced. g) Most of us trust Rafa, are happy that the sun is shining and that there are lots of pretty girls outside our windows in summer dresses. Please just try and answer some or all of these points..
  18. Hard to Handle by Otis Redding. Or Controversy by Prince. Or lots others..
  19. Yeah, the Dreamcast is my fave too. I know what you mean, the PSP is ace. But so many people I know are the same as you, they only play Pro Evo and GTA - rightly, as they're both amazing. But they'll both be out on the 360 before the PS3 this time round..
