Not sure if he is building something. The half season before Christmas was abysmal. The performances in Europe were dreadful. The run after was fantastic, but even though we looked tighter at the back we never looked like we were winning games by controlling them, we had to press and huff and puff and rely on some exceptional strikes from Coutinho and Henderson- and you can't keep winning like that all season. Sturridge is always going to be broken, Sterling is lilkely to be off sooner rather than later, and then the system will completely fall apart.
I also don't trust his ability to sign players. We don't know exactly how much input he has, but by all accounts he was extremely keen on Allen, Ashley Williams, Lallana, Lovren, and none of those is really top class.
HAving said all that, I think he should and will get next season to see if can develop a system that works over an entire season. If we finish out of the top 4 next season, that will be the time to say goodbye.
