  1. Never played the original MW, started CoD on WaW, so am looking forward to these maps, and any newer maps to be honest, as the current maps are a bit samey now.
  2. A mate of mine had a very similar issue with the same router, and for some unknown reason, when we ran wired connections to appliances, the router had no problems running WiFi, but as soon as we went pure WiFi, the problem similar to yours kicked in. I have no idea what the problem was/is to this day, as we just replaced the router with an identical one and no problems were experienced what so ever afterwards. If I had to guess, I'd say that perhaps one of the antennae were faulty, (these routers have an external and an internal antenna).
  3. Had a very quick read up on these jasper chips being used, and while they run on lower power usage, and as a result stay cooler longer, the RROD is still going to make an appearance for the hard core gamer out there. There is also rumoured to be a memory problem with these chips that causes your machine to freeze, this is not as common as the RROD overheating problem, but it's happened. Time will tell just how much more reliable these chips are, so to suggest they are as reliable as the chips found in the PS3 is a little presumptuous at this early(ish) stage in the chips life. As for the original post, I'd personally go for a PS3, though as an owner and a fan, I'm a little biased. I do own both consoles, and have done since their respective release dates, and for me, the PS3 is head and shoulders ahead of the 360. Others will say that the 360 is the better console, especially for the online experience through Live. I have never rated Live, even from day one I didn't like it, and this is probably the reason why I prefer the PS3 and PSN. If you know a PS3 owner who doesn't use their console often, or is going away for a bit, see if you can borrow it to trial it and see how you find it before making your final decision. If your Bravia has the XMB facility that's used on the PS3, then navigation will be easy for you to pick up on.
  4. This the router in question? Have you tried running the PS3 and one of your Macs through a wired ethernet connection and seeing how the WiFi performs then?
  5. 5 or 6, depends how zoned I am.... On a side note, anyone notice how the games are more and more becoming overrun with users of sniper rifles? I have no real problems with the normal proper snipers. It's the run and gun, hip fire, no scoping snipers, that are starting to do my nut. They were in every FFA game I played earlier, you just don't stand a chance with this lot belting round maps, be them big or small.
  6. I've been very fortunate and have never had this type of issue, but I think that Ofcom would be very interested to know that you're being told that you must enter a new agreement when you're simply moving home, not to mention the "tag", which is a big no no these days. I know you're not daft RL, and I assume you've browsed the TT site and section for moving home? The only other thing I can suggest to get through to someone in TT, is to call and say you're a potential new customer, watch how fast you're dealt with then....
  7. Cheers for the reply lads. Still had no official line whether this is going ahead or not, we're being outsourced to CSC on April 1st, so we may have to wait and see if our new masters want us to push on with this or not. If it is confirmed that I need to do this, then any literature would be most appreciated. Cheers again, Allan.
  8. The Canon PIXMA MP490 is Canon's best selling multi function printer according to their site. Seems a reasonable price, worth checking out a few reviews though.

    Tattoos

Heed this advice Thomo, though to be fair, the more reputable tattooists out there will not ink a first timer with anything too large anyway.
  10. Not at the moment mate, in work and have no access to YouTube from here. Just search for the Ken Burton Show on YouTube. Private matches do NOT count toward your XP, not sure about streaks, kills, deaths and the sort, but I should think not.
  11. What's the printer going to be used for? Photos, documents, multi purpose? I think of all peripherals, printers are the hardest to really recommend. My advice would be to get hold of a copy of Which?, (the link is to running costs of a few printers), or logon to their site and get a months trial for £1 to read their reviews and check the comparisons and ratings. By what I've read just quickly, the Canon iP range seem to be the best all rounder for personal use.
  12. Multi Channel Speakers. Apologies for a very delayed response.....
  13. We can do this anytime there are enough people online and willing to have a go. Was watching some YT videos earlier and love the idea of knife only, sniper rifle only, riot shield only and so on and so forth private matches. There was also a video showing a game of "Dodge Ball".... Basically a game of dodge ball between 2 sides, but with throwing knives. Each player has 1 life, and the last man standing wins the game for his team. The video I watched was set on the little footy pitch on Favela, it looked great. I'm more than happy to play in, or host, private matches, if there enough numbers of course, and play any specifically ruled match type that people have come across, or have thought would shake things up a little from the norm.
  14. Just extra mags to begin with, which means you don't have to use the extended mags attachment. You start with the 1, as normal, plant it, kill someone else, pick up their pack, plant the second and carry on as each claymore blows someone up, or gets blown up by someone. I find the majority of players have 'mores. You can only plant 2 claymores at any one time. If you try to plant a third, your first one will explode.
  15. Quality camping map. I lock myself down in an area protected by claymores, with danger close of course, anyone runs into my area, the 'mores get them, or I finish them off with a silenced UMP or me AUG HBAR, and let scavenger top up me goodies, and the trap is reset once more. Works a treat for me, as it does on High Rise and Underpass at times.
  16. I think everyone is to be fair, pity that they are staggering the release of the DLC.
  17. I'll have to stop giving you lads tips.... I'll be back online and playing proper in the next couple of days.
  18. Just been reading that we had a Swindon under 16's keeper on trial not too long ago, I wonder if the Darbs loan is to help sort out a future deal for the lad? No Reds bid for Stephens Swindon Town's promising young goalkeeper Jamie Stephens looks set to stay with the League One club, after Liverpool failed to follow up their interest. The 16-year-old enjoyed a trial spell with the Anfield club, but has since returned and the Robins have not been contacted by the Premier League outfit since. Swindon boss Danny Wilson has told skysports.com that the youngster has all the credentials to be a top class stopper. "He has got a lot potential, as a lot of young lads have, with his age and size he ticks a lot of boxes," he said. "Whether he can realise that potential in the long-run remains to be seen, but we rate him very highly for a boy so young and hopefully we can nurture that talent so that he becomes a great professional footballer. "He went up for the experience more than anything, but he has come back and really enjoyed himself. "We wanted him to go up and get a taste for what it is like at a top club like Liverpool then come back and get his head down again. "He has done just that and as far as we are concerned nothing else will happen in terms of Liverpool coming in for him, but time will tell." The Robins slipped to their second consecutive defeat on Tuesday night at play-off rivals MK Dons and Wilson insists there was no room for sentiment against one of his former clubs. "There is no sentiment for me because it is a totally different club from the one I left. There has been a mass change in personnel since I was there and I think there are only two people that remain from my time there. "Things have progressed very quickly for them and they have done very well, so there is a professional respect there as there always is when going back to one of your former clubs, but it has changed a lot."
  19. Nice find mate. The article does suggest XBox first, with PS3 and PC to follow: More Modern Warfare action on the way Five months after the release of Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty developers Infinity Ward have announced that the first downloadable content pack for the game will be released for Xbox 360 on March 30th. The announcement was made via a spoof-site created by Infinity Ward advertising a cure for "mapathy" - a fictitious condition whose symptoms include "a state of indifference to the same old maps one has been playing for the last several months". This seems to suggest that the DLC will be at least partially comprised of a new multiplayer map pack. No specific details on the content of the DLC have been released yet, although Infinity Ward Community Manager Robert Bowling has previously alluded to the possibility of more two-player cooperative missions being included in future DLC packs. After Modern Warfare 2's record breaking launch, in which it pulled in $310 million on the first day of release in the UK and US alone, the DLC is set to smash download records when it goes on sale to the game's 25 million online players. The first DLC will be an Xbox timed exclusive, with releases on PlayStation 3 and PC following at a later, unconfirmed date.
  20. If this goes through, I may get me arse over to the County Ground for a game and see how Darbs gets on.
  21. I prefer PSN, but there are plenty of dual console owning people who prefer Live. I've had both consoles since their respective launch dates, and didn't like Live to begin with, and the updates over the years have made me dislike it even more.
