  1. Nah the traditional position was that there was no concept of long imprisonment. Gaol was used to await trial or await execution or deportation etc. In the 19th Century as we moved towards a Beccarian strategy of punishment then we introduced differentiated terms of imprisonment and then we started to use the term prison etc
  2. Twas 10 series. At its best it was as good as anything. However, of the 236 only a dozen or so can be classified as such. There is an awful lot of other excellent stuff but as with most US sitcoms it went on too long and became stale
  3. Seems to have been a massive heart attack in the jacuzzi and then drowned. Could he be any less alive?
  4. Get Gotti on Netflix Twas ok but lacking in any real detail or insight 6/10
  5. Trump’s ex-lawyer Sidney Powell pleads guilty in Georgia election case | Georgia | The Guardian
  6. I think you mean money pit. It lost over $100m
  7. The Guardian gave it a glowing review (4/5) and stated it started poorly but gets stronger and stronger. Episode 1 is cack Episode 2 is much better but nowhere near classic Frasier standards The Martin character is filled by his son, Daphne by the live in friend of his son, and the role of Niles is played by the son of Niles.
  8. None. They are all embarrassing. This week Debra Stephenson was on House of Games. A lovely woman but she kept doing impressions which just makes me cringe
  9. If you want to be infuriated by the Police in the Yorkshire Ripper investigation watch the BBC 3 part documentary "The Yorkshire Ripper Files : A Very British Crime Story."
  10. The University of Liverpool if very credible and would deal with this. They are very strong LGTBQ+ stuff
  11. On the recommendation of people on here I watched 911 One Day In America. One of the most absorbing and impactful things that I have ever watched. Parts heartbreaking and parts uplifting. That Irish guy with the "good suit." He managed to survive and get out with someone he helped out. Then he took a call telling him his sister and niece were in one of the planes that were crashed into the towers
  12. Watch for the tyre at the end and try not to laugh and then feel bad
  13. No he did not. He sued them for accusations that he used drugs and rent boys. If they had checked these stories they would have realised he was on a flight over the Atlantic when the Sun claimed he was having a drug fuelled event with a rentboy
  14. You are being generous. It's shit. The studio knew it was shit and delayed its release and then eventually dumped it out like skanky terd
  15. A barmcake, well buttered with any ready salted crisp other than Walkers because they are shit
  16. Some of the stuff in the documentary was just sleazy and manipulative stuff. So sleeping with members of the audience (well over the age of consent) and never calling them back etc. So he's a douchebag. A relationship with a 16 year old is gross but not illegal. He used his fame and wealth to bed lots of women and not treat them well. Yep a sleazebag but not illegal. There was also some stuff in there which was clearly criminal. As for those who ask why did they not go to the police? Even today it is difficult to report and prosecute an offence of rape. The statistics are awful. So that is not a surprise especially when it is someone rich and famous. There will be more to come in the next few weeks now the cat is out of the bag. Do not be surprised if this becomes a criminal investigation
