Cath, I went last year and going again this August. I loved it. The best place for authentic bars is by the Neumarkt (First stop after crossing the Rhine -west to east), Look right across the cobbled road and there is load of traditional bars and restaurants etc. Also, 'The Corkonian' is a old irish bar ,not far away, with an irish Red called Vinny, great pub. Try the 'Dom' (cathedral) but only go to the top if your fit (the healthy way) cos its 500 steps, up and down (obviously)!!!!!! The Choc museum is also good but avoid the sports museum next door cos its crap. Have a good trip.
