  1. ...or that his mind game have been a deliberate attempt to deflect attention away from a real health problem. I hope to God it isn't. Rafa looked in a lot of pain when he was sitting down in the directors' box.
  2. Someone tell them you can buy them in Clayton Square for a couple of hundred quid. Mingebags
  3. They spent more time trying to spot themselves on the big screen than they did singing or watching the game. Reminded me of people spotting themselves on the tv screens in Dixon's window and doubling back for a second look.
  4. He was asking why there was no song for him and the fella shouted back "cos your shite lad" (in a jokey way). Then the Carragher song went out and he just shot a smug look back at the fella and strutted off.
  5. Seeing as Bayern we're ruled as as possible opponents I'm ecstatic with the draw. What a night it's set up to be.
  6. Looking at the tables from the group stages these appear to be our possible opponents in the next round. Sporting Lisbon Inter Milan Villarreal (assuming Man Utd finish top) Porto (between them and Arsenal for second and we can't face Arsenal) Lyon/Bayern Munich Juventus/Real Madrid We can't face second placed Chelsea or Athletico Madrid I'd like to see us face either Real Madrid or Bayern as I've never seen us play either in competitive football (super cup aside).
  7. That hasn't been the case for a couple of years now. The government has no better claim than other non-secured creditors (In fact if you'd even bothered to read the article it explains this point quite clearly). I don't quite see how the government isn't a legitimate creditor either but I guess that wouldn't suit your argument.
  8. Are you the forum Matt Le Tissier? Stroll around for most of the time not contributing much but then produce a moment of brilliance when it matters. Good post that.
  9. Yeah, whilst running with the ball he turned his head to the crowd and shouted it. It was during the first half.
  10. Someone must have been getting on his back because as the play switched to the Main stand side Carra came walking back over to the Lower Centenary. He shouted a load of abuse at someone in the crowd, started to walk away then turned back and called him a sh*thouse. Five minutes later he brought the ball past the same section and turned to the fella again shouting 'I'm f***king carrying it now aren't I'.
  11. Gerrard takes it too far sometimes and spends time berating others when he should be keeping up with play. It's fine for him as captain to have his say but not when it means turning his back on play. His own all round play has lacked urgency of late anyway.
  12. Did anyone hear exactly what was said to him by someone in the Lower Centenary on Saturday? I presume it was something about carrying the ball forward but judging by his reaction it must have been something worse than that too.
  13. Gotta be Josemi, the fella instilled an immediate sense of panic amongst his team mates and much of the crowd as soon as he took to the pitch.
  14. You're not actually that far away with this one!!!! Nil Satis Nisi Optimum: Forums / The Everton Forum / Xabi Alonso Alonso is going to Everton apparently
  15. I was in block 305 last night and Chuck Fadanoid is absolutely spot on. The majority of the anti-Barry songs were coming from block 304. Fucking disgrace to the club. Reminded me of the gobshites who booed Duff years ago cos he chose to join for Chelsea rather than us.
  16. I totally agree about Yossi. He's worth his weight in gold. A great squad player who doesn't spit his dummy out when he isn't the first name on the team sheet but still has a great footballing brain about him and can be utilised to great effect in certain games. There's not that many of these players about, coupled with his decent goal return in the first season, and that for me makes him a definite to keep hold of. With Finnan, his age and an indifferent last season makes his resale value minimal so it makes sense to hang on to him for the additional year as his potential value on the field is far greater than the value we'd get for moving him on.
  17. Think he's substantially better than our current back up striker, the pony tailed wonder. Sky Sports | Football | Primera Division | News | Sinama-Pongolle joins Atletico
  18. Shame there's a clip from the Yanks to tarnish an otherwise good clip
  19. Julio Baptista perhaps? Rafa wanted to sign him before he went to Arsenal and he can play on the wings too.
  20. Sky sports news have just announced that 'Tom Hanks Senior' won't be attending the game at Anfield tonight. I wonder if any other elderly Hollywood stars won't be able to make it either?
  21. Oh right you mean right before the sending off. Fair enough. I think he'd basically just got on Bennett's nerves in the 10 minutes or so beforehand with repetitive dissent and it was that rather than the eventual incident which led to the card.
  22. Black pudding with pate smeared on top. Don't knock it until you've tried it.
  23. He wasn't calm before the sending off. It was a nap that he was gonna go as he was giving lip all throughout the game. Yes Bennet made an example of him and was too quick to flash the second yellow but he shouldn't have got involved. We need our best players on the pitch and that kind of continuous back chat is more suited to the likes of Steven Hunt or Robbie Savage than Mascherano. Passion is one thing but that smacked of a lack of composure and really cost us any realistic chance of getting something out of the game.
  24. Thought he was fairly poor yesterday and should have been brought off.
  25. I'm not in a Virgin area and when i called up to cancel they just said "OK we'll send the cancellation notice through'. I went through all the usual stuff and came out with nothing! I reckon they know in areas where Virgin isn't available there is no other choice so have a stricter stance on offering deals
