  1. We need to nick a goal to stay in this tie, but right now it's looking like all the heads are bowed and the boys have given up. There's no leader on the field, and it doesn't come across to me like there's much leadership coming from the sidelines too.
  2. It doesn't help that so many times when we get the ball at the back, we lump it out straight to LDV and hope he can win the aerial ball and do something with it. It's almost punt and hope football for us predominantly when we initiate attacks from the back. Amoo's pace and skill has been left largely unexploited in the 2nd half.
  3. Depending on how badly we want to finish second I suppose. We'll need another 3 points to be assured of that (while looking at Chelsea to not close the gap in goal difference), so Rafa may actually not get much luxury in fielding the Reserves/fringe players away against the Baggies. Hope Hyypia gets his last start for us against Spurs at Anfield though.
  4. Spectacular own goal by Darby attempting to cut out a cross from our left - ball looped up and went into the top corner. 1-0 to Ajax.
  5. Strong surging run by Darby... ends with a skied shot; best chance in the 2nd half so far besides Nemeth's one-on-one off a long clearance. We've gotten back into this game a bit in the last 10 minutes.
  6. Second half has been almost all Ajax so far. A lot of hoofball from us clearing our lines, and then the ball comes back.

  8. Commentator I had said 7, including Barton. I can't remember who No. 6 is though - was there one, or is Barton No. 6? Here: How Alonso invites red cards by Ronan O'Connor | The Fortress Anfield Vidic, Cahill, Zabaleta, Valencia, Lampard, ?, Barton.
  9. Now that they're done with this game, I can go back to rooting for this miserable club that's Boro to be relegated. Sick of miserable results from us at the Riverside stadium.
  10. We're getting a pornstar* to play in midfield? I can imagine the commentators going, "Lorik, the Pornstar" in that stupid "Lucas, the Brazilian..." fashion. * the name just sounds like one, doesn't it?
  11. Yeah, though I'm not sure why he'd do it in this game though. Save it for Blackburn next season - if they're still around, that is.
  12. Worse still for me. It's 1:30am here. Fucking made my hairs stand!
  13. The keeper didn't even bother. How frustrating is that - conceding from your own corner. :D
  14. If the situation continues, the team might think there's a riot of Liverpool fans in Bangkok, with the red shirts all over.
  15. 23; Robbie, Carra, Michael Jordan. Was looking fine, until Beckham decided to have the number. Now I don't wear it anymore.
  16. Pellegrino has stolen Rafa's mojo. The Clipboard Man sat stone-faced. Or he was cumming in his trackies and was too embarrassed to stand up.
  17. I say no, you still play to win. Victories build momentum, and you try to go for the win as much as you can. If we get an early goal, we could inflict some shock on them and cause mistakes that could open up the door for us. Who knows, Essien could get sent off for a reckless challenge. Besides, 3 points for us and none for the Mancs still leaves the Mancs 1 point ahead if they win their game in hand. We're playing with a handicap in both challenges, and it doesn't make sense to give up on one competition now because it automatically puts you halfway to finishing the season with nothing. Also, I think we get an extra day's rest over the Gunners next week. Imagine the boost we'd get if we shock Chelsea away.
  18. Skrtel - strong silent bodyguard/right-hand man of some Mafia lord Hyypia - history / geography teacher Yossi - hairdresser Agger - fashion runway model Carra - army regiment sergeant major Aurelio and Arebloa - pro snooker player, chef or waiter Lucas - stagehand Reina - beach resort owner/manager

  20. Assuming we're allowed to pick players who are currently injured: -------------- Reina -------------- Bosingwa - Carra - Carvalho -Evra - --------- Masch - Xabi ------------ -- Gerrard -- Fabregas -- Rooney -- ------------- Torres -------------- Subs: Cech, Sagna, Vidic, Aurelio, Ronaldo, Essien, Anelka --- 1. Have not seen Arshavin play for the Gunners yet 2. Ronaldo is on the bench because I'm not impressed with his attitude in games 3. I opted to go with a 4-2-3-1 because Masch, Gerrard and Rooney have the required attitude, workrate and ability to cover the fullbacks when they bomb forward and the ball is played behind them
  21. What, no goalkeepers? Surely we could use a few more as well.
  22. To the tune of Bob the Builder... ("Bob the Builder... can we fix it?" "Bob the Builder... yes we can!") Ar~be~loa... "Can he jump high?" Va~re~ta Fly... "Yes he can!" Au~re~li-o... "Can he bend it?" Au~re~li-o... "Yes he can!"
  23. From Soccernet.... 2 this season (I think 3 in his overall LFC career, if I remember correctly). I think that's grossly unfair to Reina, but I guess it's because of the way assists are counted. But I'll still go ahead to call Reina the best goalmaking keeper we've had.
