  1. "Benitez, who doesn’t return from holiday until the end of this week, is hoping for swift progress on a wide range of issues. " Well, deals could be done even with Rafa on holiday, but maybe not ideal? With Gerrard and Carragher only now able to sign their new deals today I would think there isn´t much time for other internationals to do deals at the moment? However, if Rafa does have deals done for players then why not just sign them and keep signing his targets until young Foster tells him to stop? If Rafa is only allowed to sign 1 or 2 targets he´ll (again) have all the backing from fans if he goes for a second attack on the clubs doings. I just don´t believe Rafa havn´t got a clue how much money he´s given! It has to be a smokescreen from Bascombe or maybe that´s just what he´s been told (by Rafa)? I think we can all agree that we need some good news about now, but I wouldn´t expect it until Rafa is back.
  2. Its been 12 days since Athens and people have hit the panicbutton. None of our targets have slipped away (yet). I think these negative outlets are connected to our rivals ability to act aswell as rumours not doing us any favours (again) this summer. United have been very agressive on the market and seems to have done some interesting buys, but really why panic over them and their activities? We knew they would strengthing. Why would Hicks and Gillet not support Rafa´s plans? I think they have to and the spendings will start sooner rather than later. If they loose Rafa they´ll loose the fans goodwill and their investment won´t be half of what it could and shoud be. I´m easily frustrated myself, but think we´re making it worse than it actually is at the moment. Best indication that Rafa is getting what he wants is that he is still with us and have sent out a positive message after their "clear the air talks". Action will come when all of the puzzle is in place....for sure? Nothing has changed yet. For better or worse. So why not believe it will be for the better when really it should be all the club can afford?
  3. If we have to sell either Xabi or Momo then I´m pleased that Xabi is staying. Momo is boss, but he hasn´t developed enough to keep his place in the side. Would be nice with an option to buy him back, though.
  4. Couldn´t help thinking that myself, but I think we´re just naive? If we don´t do some serious shopping this summer we´ll be miles behind United next season and possibly years to come. And Chelsea are yet to do something. However, I think we should just concentrate on our team and our targets. 3 top players in this summer and we´ll be a lot better. My God, there´s a long way untill the Spanish season ends!
  5. Can anyone translate this?
  6. Just been told this.... "Malouda - Apparantly just confirmed on SSN that he is in Liverpool to sign. Carlos Tevez - Bascombe in the Echo are convinced he is signing." ....can anyone comfirm?
  7. If, and thats a big if, we were to take him back he would have to lower his wage demand a lot. £100.000 is a joke for a man who never plays. Thing is that Michael was a better player when he left us, so I can´t really see the big improvement for us getting him back now.
  8. Seems Simao had a good season....11 goals in 24 app. http://www.slbenfica.pt/English/players.asp?lg=eng&idEpoca=347&idCompeticao=34&idJogador=2622
  9. Simao I really don´t know if he´s good enough? He isn´t an out-and-out winger, but looks more of a Garcia type of players to me. Is this the end for Garcia then? Wouldn´t pay over the odds for him, but if a deal with Cissé going in the other direction can be made it might be good bussiness? Here´s a bit on Malouda. He scored 13 goals in 47 app. this season. I like that course we need more goals from midfield. I just wouldn´t think he´s a 15-20 euro man? http://www.olweb.fr/index.php?lng=en&j=1069&pid=201002
  10. Think its Simao and Milito. Read in one of the papers that Alves is "out of the equation for now".
  11. I like him. Great attitude on the pitch and loved watching him against United. If he played for us he would be a legend!
  12. I would like to see Quaresma signed, but he would have to play on the left as I think Rafa will keep playing Gerrard as right midfielder. That´ll work just fine as long as Alves is playing right back!
  13. Sorry, not a tattoo, but writing on the inside of the armband. http://sporten.tv2.dk/fodbold/article.php/id-6759845.html
  14. This sound really dodgy, but nevertheless here goes.... Just read on Danish TV2 text-tv that Torres in A. Madrids last game against Real Sociedad droped his captains armband and a photographer got a picture of his upper arm where he has a tattoo saying: "you´ll never walk alone". Speculations saying he might come here. Their chairman said that he would only leave if his realese clause is meet...and that is 40 mill. euro. Don´t shoot the messenger..... However, I´d take em both! Villa is the better player these days, but they are both excellent. If I had to choose it would be David Villa, but then there´s the case of the price.
  15. So you think we´ll be told the content of the "chat"?
  16. Good point. Know what you´re saying, but I just fear we could end up with a worse couple of strikers hence the mention of Voronin. A quality striker (hopefully 2) is high on the agenda, but there are several reasons why our current strikers aren´t delivering enough goals. One of them is that they might not be good enough as individuals, but surely another thing is the way they are being used and supported.
  17. I`ll sell both Bellamy and Crouch, but as long as we don´t know who`s coming in there´s no rush. I think we should get a decent fee for each of them, and with a lot of good strikers around it shouldn´t be a problem finding better options. Having said that, there is also a lot of players that wouldn´t be better. One of them is Voronin.
  18. Oh my God! The horror, the horror...make it stop.
  19. He looks like a quality winger. The fact he can score goals as well as beating men makes him ideal. The kind of player we need. http://www.fcporto.pt/English/players.asp?lg=eng&idEpoca=347&idCompeticao=34&idJogador=18420
  20. He´s saying that he (and his mother who´s in the clip with him) was running around in their appartment going mental when they got the invitation by Liverpool. He talks about how excited he is to be going to one of his favorit clubs (he likes Liverpool and Barcelona) and that his favorit players are Gerrard and Ronaldinho. Then they talk about what they´ll do if he is offered a contract. His mom says he´s not going anywhere at this young age, but hints that they could move with him, but says it really hasn´t been discussed yet (in the family I reckon?). He then ask Alexander what he wants to do and he says he´s ready to move to Liverpool rigth now (and indicates it with his body-language). He says he´s got 2 dreams. Playing for Liverpool and playing for Barcelona. He sounds like a sweet kid who just loves playing football. He´s been getting a lot of attention in Denmark, but taking it really well.
