  1. Go Jap, expensive if you need to repair but I've had a Toyota for 7 years now and spent £300 on a new inlet manifold. Thats it though, 120,000 miles, starts every time and I havent even bothered servicing it in 3 years - still going strong. Its the lazy mans choice.........
  2. Agreed, it has lots of catchy tunes and easy to understand lyrics. Bands like Los Campesinos! are doing similar things but just dont get the airplay. Maybe its down to Fearne Cotton and Jo Whiley et al.
  3. I dont really understand why Mumford and Sons had such a massive crowd at Leeds, I know they do easy catchy singalong folk but so do a lot of folk bands that would never get half as many people. Whats it all about? Is it Radio 1's influence?
  4. Skyscanner is usually pretty good although you need to be careful to avoid buying something which has about 4 changes in it!!!
  5. Hoping that Crystal Castles will be as mental as last year and other than that looking forward to Libertines, Cribs, We Are Scientists, Biffy and Delphic. Faustus - could always get a day ticket when you have more cash, they are usually on sale for a while although may go quick with the Libertines playing
  6. Try here : health, sex and relationships, nutrition, weight loss, style and male grooming, :: Mens Health - loads of useful info on nutrition, exercise and weight loss. I'm trying to lose a bit (4 stone) at the moment and learning loads of useful stuff from there - mostly it seems to be about scoffing your face with Chillis.
  7. Hmm - got Boba Fett and Zippy but not Kevin McCloud (but then I dont think anyone does!) 7/10
  8. I have a cousin who every year used to send me the worst presents ever. Particular highlights include a homemade Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shell shaped backpack in lime green and Blind Date the board game. We no longer speak and I no longer get terrible presents so its a win-win.....
  9. Last few I have been to: Wildhearts, Stoke Sugarmill - Good as usual but not the energy they had on stage a few years back when I last saw them. Hadouken, Preston - Fun gig, was a bit full of kids but a good laugh all the same. Cribs, Manchester - Decent but was put off by long queues at the Apollo and an audience ironically full of scenesters. Idlewild, Manchester - still awesome, still different every time, still turned up after a tour bus breakdown! Bloc Party, Leeds - Badly let down by sound issues and kept breaking the set up but good none the less, just maybe not as good as I expected. Passion Pit, Manchester - Surprisingly good actually, really enjoyed the set up to the point that the keyboard player got in a piss when someone threw a drink in his vintage keyboard. Green Day, Manchester - Real let down, they seem to have become some kind of stage act with coreographed guests from the audience on stage. Atmosphere in the crowd was shit too. Biffy Clyro, Manchester - Awesome, everything was good, the set, the crowd even the queue at the bar was bearable!
  10. Christ - I saw her (and her diamonds) at Sounds of the Other City in Salford during May. She looked about 40 and appeared to be dressed in a Nan's Cardigan - not sure what has happened here but I sure do like it!!!!!
  11. How does he clap with his plastic arms moulded into that position?
  12. Naturally the easiest way to solve this would be a goal seek. Although this may not be a function on your excel unless you have the add-in pack installed. Although it still requires some sort of algebraic function. Saying that I am having a stab at 542 being the answer!
  13. One of my mates wanted to go to a party as Stephen Hawking but really stuggled to get a cheap wheelchair from somewhere. He went as the Alan Partridge zombie (with biscuits, shower curtain and tungsten tipped screws) instead. It was a good effort.
  14. I was on Keith and Orvilles Quack Chat show in the 80's going through an assault course competing against another team from our school to win some board games. My team was winning and then the last lad fell flat on his arse and we lost....ended up getting pied in the face by the opposition. I still feel the shame of it!
