  1. A tourist isn't a tourist you know. You have the die-hard fan tourist whose heart is with the club. Every time there's a match on TV you'll find him in his local pub watching. Once in a while, maybe just once in a lifetime, he might be fulfilling his dream of actually being at Anfield. When you see him in the stands he's dressed in red and is singing and shouting to the best of his ability. Then there's the tourist who’s heard of the atmosphere at Anfield. Money isn't a problem for him, so he goes. When you see him in the stands he might have a scarf or a red cap on. When everybody around him sings he's watching in awe. During the match he'll repeatedly talk to his tourist mate besides him, because he isn't all that interested in what's happening on the field. Being amongst the first category I’d hope to be welcome at Anfield. I don’t know if I’ve deserved it, but for 30 years I’ve been a fan. The few times I’ve been able to actually attend games I’m shaking with excitement. I know very well I’m taking up one seat from one of you local guys. Then again I know the club wouldn’t be able to compete at the very top internationally without the worldwide support. As you say, you can’t have it both ways. It should be possible to make access to Anfield for the first category tourist and still make it more difficult for the latter. That aside. I see no interest in my offer. Maybe you lot don’t have any real problems getting tickets. It would be quite stupid of me buying tickets nobody wants. Ta mate
  2. Everybody’s complaining about the ticket policy of the club. Nobody seems to do anything about it. Today tickets are sold on by touts to tourists for £100 and more taking up places for real fans. The stands should be packed with people supporting the team, not by tourists who’s there only to experience the Anfield noise. Too many of those and there’ll be no Anfield noise. Can we do anything about it? Not much I’m afraid, but we could try to do our own touting, only not taking a profit. Selling on available tickets to fellow fans face value would be supporting those who should really attend the matches. We already do that on here from time to time. Question is: Can we do more? I’m a e-season ticket holder at the offal myself. For every home game there’s a ballot with a chance to “win” access to two seats. I’ll enter that ballot every week from now on. Living far away from Liverpool, it’s more than possible that I won’t be able to go. If so I’ll pass the tickets on here to another fan face value of course. I urge other fans on here to do the same. You never know, one day you might be on the receiving end. I know it’s not aloud to give or sell tickets to others. But as long as the club does nothing to stop the real touts, I for on have no second thoughts.
  3. 4-5-1, 4-4-1-1, 4-3-3 etc. That’s all just numbers isn’t it? What matters is how we play. If we were playing 4-5-1 we should at least control the midfield. This might have come as a surprise to someone, but ManU controlled the midfield for most of the 1st half. Why? Because we only had two midfielders on the pitch, that’s why. Like we experienced in the CL-final we need three midfield men, especially when opposition is good. Only when you control the midfield you can expect to control the match. So Hamann or Sissoko should've started. One or two up front? It depends on how we play. We used to do OK with Rush as a lone striker. Sadly Garcia isn’t Dalglish. Maybe Cisse should’ve started together with Crouch. I don’t know. However, in IMHO it was our lack of control in the midfield that “lost” us the match.
  4. He had a flick to Gerrard just like that against Boro too. Resulted in a redcard for Boro. No vision? My ass! Think he's really improved on that area. So now we've sold our best frontman. I feel sad, gutted! Like Litmanen he's proved to me he's class, only our management doesn't rate him. Good luck to you Milan. Villa's our last home game of the season. I just hope Baros doesn't screw things up for us.
  5. I said it after the Sofia match, I repeat it now after the Boro game. If Alonso was a steal, Sissoko could very well be armed robbery. The boy is 20, no experience with English football, don't speak the language, don't know his teammates. Still he's allready giving us MOM performances. My God, what if he improves? I've had a close look at him on video too, after the Boro-game. When receiving a pass it looks like his boots have glue on them. The ball's never more than an inch away from his boot. Superb control. He'll be the buy of the season. Great work by Rafa yet again.
  6. We paid twice that money for Alonso, and that was a steal. To quote an earlier manage: £5m could be armed robbery.
  7. I'd say it was the right thing to do for Mr Gerrard. However, I've got a sneeky feeling this whole story was conducted by some PR-dude. Offer captaincy - boss declines - status quo,..... and better relations with the fans
  8. I'm saying amen to both Stu and Dave. It's time to move on. I'll allways support the team. If Rafa's Ok with Mr Gerrard, so am I. This farse has devided us fans, now it's time to put it all behind us and come together. I'd have to stop calling him "Stevie G" though, as it would from now on come out of my mouth as "Stevie Me". I'll simply call him Mr Gerrard, I can live with that.
  9. That's my problem. I'm not certain that from a footballing pont of view only, it's for the best that he stays. I fear we'll be playing much like we did last season ending 30+points behind the PL winners. With up to 40 miull £ we might have been able to create a better team. I really don't know. But I do feel certain that the Cicus Gerrard has a bad influence on the team.
  10. Give me one poll on here that actually changed things. I think this poll shows how this circus has devided us, the fans. A good poll IMO.
  11. Totally agree. We've sold the spirit of our club to Steven Gerrard. Gerarrd's the one in charge now. If he says "jump!" Parry's feet will leave the ground. Bill Shankly would turn around in his grave if he knew what was happening to Liverpool FC these days.
  12. I was thinking. If Rafa would like Carra to be captain, or if he for some reason would like to start an important match without Gerrard on the field, could he do that? I think not. I think Gerrard has to be captain. If he's stripped of his captaincy, his feelings will be hurt again, and we don't want that do we mr. Parry? He might threaten us he'd leave. This means, fellow supporters, that for the first time in history one single player is bigger than the team. It hurts, I'd prefer if Gerrard was sold.
  13. Given the choice of 1) keeping Gerrard AND his circus or 2) Other players for 35 mill£, and NO circus, I'd have to agree with you. Looks like Parry/Rafa really had to put maximum preassure on him to get his signature. I fear we'll now read "Gerrard wants to leave" time and again after a bad result or a bust-up in training, Sad, and I fear bad or team morale. Most important thing now is the get this sorted by the end of the week. Maybe he'll change his mind again?
  14. I’m not saying anyone’s to blame but the ego himself. But something is wrong. By not signing the new contract Gerrard’s taking a huge risk. He’s leaving behind heroism and 100K a week for the uncertainty of playing at all in another club. Most players want reassurance they’ll play. Gerrard had that. Nobody’s going to promise him anything at Chelsea or Real Madrid. What he knows for sure is that he could’ve been the hero of his hometown, now he’s the villain. His decision is way to bad to believe. I know he’s not the sharpest knife in the cabinet, but I simply can’t believe he’s that stupid. The club on the other hand doesn’t loose much. It might be a small setback, then again with the money available for replacements we might even be better off now. But, as you say the club can’t be held responsible for Gerrards actions. I’ve experienced before that greed can lead people to some bizarre decisions. He is after all supposed to get 125K a week elsewhere. I guess that’s it, no ifs no buts, only greed.
  15. I wouldn't say the club's a liar, I'd say they're conducting business. Gerrard har repeatedly said that he wantet Liverpool to build a team strong enough to win the league. To do that Gerrard said we needed better players. If it's true that Parry told Gerrard his wage-demands would jeapardise the teambuilding, how could that persuade Gerrard to stay? Either Parry's a complete idiot or he wanted Gerrard to say no. Fighting with West Ham for Peter Crouch could be the best smokescreen ever.
  16. Your math's exactly right. I'm confident you are a clever guy, so please tell me why Parry would say such a thing to Gerrard.
  17. Exactly what Rafa would've wanted. To get top dollar for the lad Rafa has to show the world he doesn't want to loose him. Maybe Rafa knew he'd say no.
  18. I've read it somewhere but can't remember where that Parry told Gerrard the 100K contract would have an impact on our signings this summer. I'm not saying they wanted Gerrard out. However, somethings don't add up, so I'm simply asking the question. If we wanted to get rid, it makes sense Parry didn't want to discuss a new contract before now. Saying what he said yesterday could have been a qualified gamble from Rafa?
  19. Something doesn't make sense. There has to be an explanation. Why didn’t Gerrard sign a 100K a week contract and stay as captain of his boyhood team? It doesn’t make sense. Why would he leave? Is it possible that this is exactly what Rafa wanted. There’s been rumours before that Rafa didn’t rate him that much. Is it possible that Rafa’s manipulated him to turn down the offer. To tell Gerrard he was surplus to requirements would’ve been impossible. It would also have reduced the price significantly. So if Rafa wanted to cash in on him, he’d have to manoeuvre him to say no. The only way to get rid of him was probably to make him believe that we’re not buying enough quality players to challenge for the title. Remember Parry told Gerrard that giving him a 100K/week contract meant we couldn’t sign the players we ideally would’ve wanted. No that he’s gone, we can remove the smokescreens being Crouch etc. and start doing real business. Bring‘em in Rafa, Aimar or whoever they are.
  20. Surely Rafa's been thinking about the pozzibilty that Steven didn't want to stay. Surely he's been looking at other opportunitiez. Guess he'll be busy for the next couple of days executing plan B. I expect good players to be signed within 48 hours after the ego's sold.
  21. Agree, exept turning the backs to him would be the same as booing. He should be met with ignorance, like the nobody he really is. We should give him the same reception as the left back of Norwich did last year.
  22. I'm angry and I want to scream "Fuck you" into the pricks face. But you're right. It's time to calm down and move on. Thank you for correcting me. I hope nobody booes him at Anfiled, I hope noone applauds him. He should be met at like he was a complete unknown. He's not a part of Liverpool FC anymore, who cares who he is now, who cares what he does or what he's done. From this time forward I'll support Liverpool FC, it's management, it's players, it's supporters, the whole spirit of the club. I' not going to let a nobody spoil that.
  23. What exactly do you mean Parry should've done differently. IMO Parry's been sucking the pricks dick for much too long. He should've been shown the door last summer. Good thing he didn't though, as we might not have been European Champions without him this year. What signings the club makes is none of the players business. If Keegan came up to good old Shankly (God rest his soul) saying he wouldn't sign a contract until he knew exactly what players the club planned to sign. What do you think Shanks reaction would be? Parrys told the dickhead we wanted him to stay and offered him 100K a week. The ego turned him down. What else could Parry do? Lick his ass? If Parry can get top dollar for the slime-boy he's done a great job.
  24. Let him have it. Let him answer when his children ask where and how he got it. Let him lie to his own children when they ask him why he left. Let him have long and painful looks at the medal in the following years of regret.
  25. And a great job in getting rid of the ego. All hail Parry, the fund raiser!
