  1. I've never come to dislike Rafa on a personal level as so many others appears to have done. I still think he's a great manager. However, if he's still here come august it will be the first time in seven years I'll be dreading the upcoming season. Some of his problems are of his own making (stubbornness, poor signings etc.), some are not. With proper owners (throughout this season) he could have turned it around, but now he's got his hands too dirty I'm afraid. In my humble opinion of course.
  2. I think he gets loads of stuff wrong. This season way too much. I just don't happend to think this was one of them. My impression of Torres is that when he on occasion (like against Birmingham) is sulky and uninteresed he doesn't offer much (other recent examples are Lille away and Wigan away). There are exceptions like the very frequently mentioned game at Villa Park, but I can't think of many. Torres is at his best when he's fired up and in the mood, and thats when he gets the majority of his many great goals. Against Birmigham he wasn't.
  3. The Torres substitution was a mix-up by Rafa. He actually should have replaced Torres at Old Trafford, and then Ngog would have scored the sitter El Nino missed at the end. In this game Torres would have scored a screamer around 80 minutes if he'd have stayed on. Too bad Rafa still doesn't have the ability to manage in hindsight like all truly great managers.
  4. There are only two requirements for a new manager: * Ability to predict whats gonna happen. * Never make mistakes. Anyone who fits are better than what we have now!
  5. Degen Carra Kuyt (The two latter barely bacause they worked hard and appeared to care about the fact we were being humiliated by a second tier team, more than can be said about most of the others)
  6. It counts for quite a lot when we're up against teams like Hull, Wigan, Stoke, Fulham etc. Just look at the game against Reading, we hardly ever managed to get the ball down and play some decent footy. That's a lot easier if you have at least one center half not afraid of having the ball at his feet. (Not that I'm saying that was the sole reason for our shit display, far from it, but it certainly played a part)
  7. Fair enough. I seem to remember something about updates during the season (maybe even the month October was mentioned). Maybe my memory is playing tricks on me.
  8. What happened to your league prediction thread/competition?
  9. I think he's scored more goals in the top flight than those four put together.
