Well, my wanting to eventually own a motorbike (in about 3 years from now) may have been one of the several nails in the coffin of my marriage but today I go for my CBT. I did have one booked a few months ago but couldn't go because my lad hurt himself the night before (on something my missus left on the floor...) and couldn't go. That was a waste of over a hundred quid. My theory certificate runs out in June so I have to get my skates on and pass my Direct Access Course. I have ridden my mate's 600cc a few times off-road on another mate's fields and am confident about brakes and gears. Have ridden on the road many years ago as well for a short time and not always legally. While in no way feeling cocky about getting on the back of a bike, I think I'll be okay. I'm planning on treating myself to a Triumph Thinderbird LT when I can finally afford one. I'm going to be one of those twats who cruise along the road at their own speed, holding up farmer's tractors behind them. Revenge!

Says who?? It will one presumes be the Tory's who are in the negotiating seat for such negotiations. Mate, that is completely the wrong comparison. Firstly, there is often an easy and lazy assumption that an immigrant is an "ethnic"? Not all immigrants are non-white. Indeed, I would guess the majority these days are white. Secondly, there is a reasonable expectation that an "ethnic" kid coming to a school in this country would learn English and end up fitting in. When an English kid in an English school finds himself an ethnic minority speaking a minority language, there's something wrong. Which is my point.

Well, I agreed with you up until your "them foreigners" line, which is nonsense. While there are areas of London that have sometimes large pockets of a particular racial demographic, the whole of London is a mix of all. You can look in pretty much any road or street and will find a racial mix. What I expect happened with this school is that as the Asian pupil numbers grew larger, white pupils' (Jews, Irish, British etc) and black pupils' parents moved their children to other schools, maybe even out of the area.It doesn't matter how racist you might find this action is, it is reality. My mate pulled his kid from a school when he became the last white kid in the class. One of his biggest reasons was nearly all the other kids communicated in various languages other than English. He felt his boy's education and school life would suffer as a result. The class then became exclusively non-white. Was my mate racist? My answer is no, was he shite being racist. He was being a realist and protecting his son.

Do like QT but Dimbleby while usually good, all too often lets them get away with not answering the question . These bastards - politicians in general - not even trying to disguise that they won't answer questions is probably what I despise most in politicians.

There's a big wide world outside of the EU where lots of countries do very nicely indeed. Anyone who says we NEED to be a member of the EU is lying. Anyone who says millions of jobs DEPEND on EU membership is lying. Jobs depend on trade and there is not a single trading partner in the EU who will trade any less with us if we leave. I think SD has a very valid point. What is the context? If he had just goosed her then an angry reaction was only to be expected, especially from a pisshead with a temper. That said, I'm not sure I'd find myself falling in love with her, despite my being an incurable old romantic.

Bit late to the party on this one but... You need to ring the cop shop and ask to speak to the officer in the case. There will be one and their name and number may well be on the letter they sent to you following making your crime report. The crime number should be on it too. Ask them what is the progress of your case. With named suspects but no arrests after a few weeks, I would be a bit concerned to know how the investigation is progressing. Given senior officers are obsessed with targets and detections, I simply don't believe there would have been no movement with this investigation as the officer in the case would have had their arse kicked to move it along and achieve the (apparently) easy detection. Of course if you aren't satisfied with the answer then ring the force main contact number and make your complaint over the phone. Better still, go on to the IPCC website and make your complaint online. It wouldn't be the IPCC who investigate it but at least you will know it has been passed to the force to respond to. Good luck. And don't blame individual coppers for the failings of the system. The system is shit and coppers just have to work within in. If you want to change the shit system then have a go at those who run the police and the Home Office. And good luck with that - you'd need it.

It seems basic to me - no backbone/courage, little creativity, pissing about with the ball instead of progressing with it & looking like rabbits caught in the headlights with every attack. Just been reading an old OLD thread on the GF and noticed that davelfc was banned. Searched his most recent posts and wondered if this post was the reason he was banned. Not casting an opinion on the spat he was having at the time but was simply curious if this was the post that did it for him or is there more to it?

We have Freesat which means we don't need to install an aerial. Far fewer channels than Sky but over 90% of what is on the Sky platform is utter shite anyway. I miss Dave (the channel!) and maybe 5 or 6 others but you quickly get used to the choices you have. And it's free. Just make sure you buy a decent box as most of them are pretty crap. I'll say this for Sky - their boxes work well.
