  1. I think that's the crux of the matter - he's enjoyed the money and lifestyle a bit too much and not actually paid that much attention to his part time job. The man should have been immersing himself in English football and the players characters and way of life. Instead he still barely speaks English, he somehow doesn't know what 95% of football followers know about James and Heskey, and hasn't worked out a stategy to get the best out of his best players. Has he watched that much English football at all, or just rolled up from Italy a short while before each match?
  2. That's the point, he is, IMO, wrongly choosing to rely on these players. Of the players you listed, bar Gareth Barry, he has others at his disposal who are better, he's just choosing not to use them. I agree the players are not good enough to some extent, i.e. there's little chance of them winning the thing, but they are good enough to get out of this group fairly comfortably.
  3. I don't agree with the supporters booing, but I diasgree far more with an out of touch twat like Rooney publically slagging them off for it. The supporters have had to pay a lot of money to get there, while the pampered players are being paid for the honour, they should rise above it. But a petulant little shit like Rooney just can't help himself.
  4. For me, there's been question marks over Capello's England management for a while, not just these last two games. He needs to show what he is being paid an enormous amount for and make some big changes for the next match.

Yes and a lot of the time it was disgusting lies, innuendo and speculation - and it still is to this day (or yesterday at least). It would perhaps help some "move on" if those people who contributed to the dirty tactics would acknowledge it, but of course that's not going to happen and in some cases they are continuing said tactics. Apart from that very good and fair posts.
  6. I'm only speaking personally but the other terms used as examples, such as "murdered", "on fire" etc are rightly or wrongly widely used in everyday life and most other sports, so these words don't seem as 'shocking'. I don't particularly use them myself but don't have any problem with others using such words, so perhaps in their wide use I have become desensitised to them. Rape, on the other hand, is not so common and seems only to be used by "the lads" and in reference to football. Maybe in 10 years, if the word spills into other sports and into every day life, there will be zero complaints to RTE, BBC, ITV etc and I might chuckle at the fact I used to have a problem with it.
  7. In some weird way this is welcome 'news' for me. I have already come to terms with the prospect that major assets will be stripped this summer, and Torres to Barca is hugely more palatable than Chelsea.
  8. I'm no prude, and my language can be choice at times, but the use of the word "rape" in this context (in anything other than it's real context) is totally inappropriate. I cringe every time I hear it or read it, mainly on forums. I'm glad there was an apology on RTE.
  9. I see the all singing all dancing Capello is still to get to grips with a few puzzles. Who to play in goal? Gerrard and Lampard, together in the centre of midfield? How to get the best out of Rooney? The puzzle he has created for himself, Emile Heskey? And how to speak English? He's been here what, nearly 3 years and apparently turned to his interpreter last night??? I don't think England will get past the quarters. Of course they might do, as someone has already said that's football and you never know. But Capello, he seems no different to Sven, except Sven didn't need an interpreter.
  10. And then what? You'll just say his hands were tied because of Hicks' ridiculous asking price? Do you think Broughton discussed this asking price before taking on the role? Is he professional enough to do that, and would his reputation allow otherwise?
  11. The difference is one is still at the club and one isn't. Do you think Broughton agreed a sale price with The Twats, or at least fully discussed it and make clear some guidelines in order to establish his actual remit? If not, does that not call into question his professionalism? Or perhaps it just calls into question his remit.
  12. Absolutely. But I find it hard to believe Broughton wouldn't have discussed this before taking on the role - it's not like it hasn't been widely known Hicks put a ridiculous premium on the club. Simply put, Hicks, Gilette, and Broughton must have agreed a minimum acceptable price and timescale - if they didn't, you have to question Broughton's remit.
  13. There is definitely an element of once bitten twice shy, but what's wrong with that? Surely that's natural. I'd much rather be proved a fool for mistrusting them than I would a fool for trusting them, believe me.
  14. Well then can I make a suggestion to you and others who think the same? Please, please only direct your accusations to the few posters or articles which are clearly angry with the sacking/ mutual agreement because of their love for Benitez. I know it's a free country and people can post anything they like, but there's loads of us out here who some (like yourself and others on this thread) may perceive as being angry for Benitez's sake, but if they look closer, remove the blinkers and read properly they will see that's not the case and their concern is for LFC. When you make general posts, general responses and sweeping statements it undermines what many people are saying about the state of the club and their concerns for our future, which in turn undermines why they are saying it. And that stinks a bit. This is a genuine post/ request, I am not trying to have a go, nor am I fishing. But again it's a free country and people will take it however they choose.
  15. Is that because you believe the outrage is actually about the manager being sacked and not who signed it off?
  16. I do agree with that totally. But I also believe that who they appoint as our next manager will give us an indication on where the club is heading, so in that sense it's relevant.
  17. Yes it can and it is, in some maybe most cases. I'm concerned only about the club and for many people that's all it's ever been about. No, I do not want Broughton to rush into a sale. No, I do not expect him to make any premature statements. But that doesn't mean that some things don't seem to add up. Purslow said the club would be sold within months. So why would we appoint anyone but an interim manager? If an interim manager, who would be more appopriate than Kenny, and for what reasons is that person not already in place? Answers like "what's the rush, maybe they don't want an interim manager?" don't wash IF Broughton's remit is also his intention. Yes I might be paranoid, but as someone said, that doesn't mean they are not out to get me/ us.
  18. You see, you have to label my post as "pro-Benitez", after I said he's history, move on. How does that come accross as pro-anyone?
  19. I don't really understand what you're saying in that last paragraph. You asked why people have turned on Broughton, not why Jim had turned on Broughton. Don't assume everything is about Benitez, you sound obsessed. edit: you didn't specifically ask why people had turned on Broughton but it was an open question and not directed at Jim.
  20. There's some of it on this thread alone. People still determined to pull others up on their like/love/devotion to Benitez. Why? It's bloody sad. Benitez is history, those people need to move the frig on now they've got what they wanted. Why are they still fighting a 'battle' that's won?
  21. So in the short term, i.e. the 'months' it will take the club to get sold, that was worth the ?£6m pay off? What about the rest of my post? Why haven't they appointed an interim manager yet?
