  11. Does it have to be at the expense of anybody? If the winner was from any other country than England, Italy and Spain UEFA would have allowed them to play in next year's tournament whatever their domestic league position. They must be able to adjust for this in the qualifying rounds.

  20. GREENBERG HANDED BLUES ROLE Chelsea Village have appointed Simon Greenberg as their new director of communications. Greenberg, 34, most recently worked as assistant editor of the Evening Standard and will head up a new communications team to work closely with chief executive Peter Kenyon and the club's management. Kenyon said: "Chelsea will continue to be one of the most exciting stories over the next few years and Simon will play a key role in communicating our aims and ambitions both on the field and off the field both domestically and further afield.
