  1. I m off to the Surrey Dahlia Society tuber sale this weekend. These people are serious growers so they sell excellent stock I lifted some this year and 50% of them rotted away because they got frozen despite being in a shed. The winters down here (just south of london) are pretty mild so I think I'm going to leave them in the ground from now on. No signs of life yet, maybe the a tiny bud. I wont start to really worry until mid April. The tubers in the ground seem solid. I split them every October then replant the tubers. They seem to prefer that.
  2. Gardening is a good lesson in life, you over estimate what you can achieve in the short term and under estimate what you can achieve in the long term if you persevere. My roses are finally coming good 3 years after planting them as bare roots. These things take time.
  3. He could have called VD and Gomez to stay back. I think everyone was lost in the adrenaline to make sensible decisions.
  4. Finished Masters of the Air. It’s an incredibly expensive rip off of Band of Brothers but not as good. The budget was 250m for 10 episodes and by God it shows, astonishing sets and battle scenes. Worth watching if you lower your expectations
  5. My son's maths teacher used to play in the NBA. He's a long way from home Renaldo Lawrence Stats, Height, Weight, Position, Draft Status and more | Basketball-Reference.com
  6. Sending 9 up for a corner in the last minute when the scores were level and leaving an inexperienced teenager at the back on his own in a hostile pumped up Old Trafford was probably the single worst decision Klopp has ever made as a manager. Utter madness.
  7. We did the same thing at Palace a few years back which arguably cost us the league that year. Seems like once again they got caught up in the emotion of it all when cool heads were needed.
  8. Watching this again on catch up, why did we send 9 players up for a corner in the last minute when the scores were level and leave an inexperienced teenager as our only defender ? Just mad tactics.
  9. Nobody who saw the Michael Thomas goal is complacent about anything to do with this club. Maybe this will teach the youngsters a similar lesson for life.
  10. Gakpo is not good enough for this club. It’s becoming so obvious now. That pass when we had 5 versus 2 epitomised his game. Time to let him go.
  11. Yes but only on the second attempt. 2 of the kids came before. I’m done now.
  12. I have had it done then a reversal as my second wife wanted a baby. We now have 5.
  13. This scene. We drove around for ages trying to find the exact spot.
  14. I agree it’s a bit rushed. Need to have the discipline of the original German Das Boot, tv series. Sometimes whole 30 minute episodes where not much happened. That was bold tv.
  15. Masters of the Air is getting better. Amazing sets and battle scenes. They have spent a huge amount of cash.
  16. This is a common myth. Currency speculation is a zero sum game so if somebody makes a profit another trader is making a loss. There is no absolute gain.
  17. Sorry I’m posting too early in the morning. Obviously £360k but my wider point still stands, the club makes a reasonable number of people very rich whilst giving a relatively tiny amount to charity.
  18. The wage bill for the whole club is about £366m and they employ 1000 people so an average enployee is on £3.6m. A lot of that 1000 will be on less than £50k so it gives you an idea of how much the players are making. Meanwhile the clubs official charity gets given about £1m per year. Beer and circuses
  19. He went out with Sue Barker when she was a tennis player but she wasn’t seeded that year.
  20. Erm do dog years count and is a waggy tail a sign of consent? Asking for a freind.
  21. You’re surely not saying all 3 at once. There had to be a line somewhere for the sake of humanity.
  22. Well there we have it, if you don't think a man should be allowed to spit roast his own sister with their pet Alsatian banging away at the other end whilst in the privacy of their living room, you're nothing more than a socially conditioned petty moralist. I never realized how wrong I was.
  23. This is the absurd end point of libertarianism, you start off moaning about smoking bans and within 2 posts you inevitably end up defending bestiality and incest.
