Our next manager, your choice, the poll.

We don't ALL want Xabi, but that'll be the media narrative. 2 years ago Gerrard was a cert. -

I'm surprised Xabi is the front runner for the job, everything seems to point towards De Zerbi. I don't think there's anything like Klopp out there right now, but if I had to choose someone else it's be De Zerbi. There's some fascinating vids in YT about his innovations in coaching, and his devotion to football. £10m release clause currently in his contract, He may not be what we want ultimately, we don't know, but in the meantime he'd have us playing much the same as Klopp, high intensity without the ball, always wanting the ball, high defensive line, attacking. Also he'd open up the possibility of us signing Estupinan or João Pedro. -

As for names, I'll throw a couple in based on their age and win percentage: Roger Schmidt Arne Slot Marco Rose Ruben Amorim Rob De Zerbi I don't see how we talk about Xabi based on half a season of management. It's fucking nuts. And if he's not ready then we derail his career before it's even really started. I also want a manager over 6'2". I think a lot of Klopp's aura was rigged with his size and presence. I want a manager to stand eye to eye with the centre backs, I literally want some players physically 'looking up' to him when he speaks. I think Xabi is too clean cut and he doesn't seem to smile a lot. Klopp lit up a room, whereas I think Xabi isn't experienced enough yet to shrug off the massive job on his hands. He'll be nervous. -

I don't know if we need another Klopp, or if the focus will now be on establishing a Klopp like figure as director of football. I think there will be conversations had around the whole structure now, not least because FSG now recognise that losing him is bringing about an existential crisis for us this summer and a staff and maybe a player exodus. We need to recognise that for the problem it is, and see if we can avoid repeating it everytime we get a new manager. If our DoF has equal Messiah status, then we can make changing future managers a less painful process. -

We've also become accutsomed to him giving youth team players a go, I'd hate to lose that, but I think you only get that confidence from a senior manager. -

Do you not think that Klopp might look at Barca in 12 months? I think he's more likely there than Madrid. Xavi has credit in the bank to keep him there a while -

What would people say to Guardiola if his agent expressed interest? -

I'd love to put my weight behind Xabi but fuck me it's premature. Surely a big part of being a top manager is how you operate under pressure, and we haven't seen him get to the vinegar strokes yet. I'd have Emery on the list, the rest is up for grabs for the rest of the season, but I've got the sneaking suspicion that we've already made approaches for someone. -
Just a thought on the timing, I'm wondering if we might make a last minute player purchase for the incoming manager. Just the way Klopp answered the question abou the timing, he said it was with regard to 'the things the club needs to do'. Just crossed my mind that he does the interview now, not next week, when the window closes.

SSN all day, in UHD, "oooh, that's a bigun, what next for Liverpool?" I dunno lads, we've just had our legs chopped off so I guess we'll have a go at sewing the bastards back on our minging hot stumps. Maybe we should riff on this for a bit, see if we can make Sky lose their shit. I'd like to see Klopp put in a glass tank above the pitch for the last game and then vanish in a mist of red flares. Just his glasses and cap left in the tank.

Well yknow what I mean, no other suitable thread, and this is 9 years ago, but wtf

Me again. I didn't really think of any one scene being 'troubling' or shocking, but that's what people were saying. I didn't even know the scene they were referring to, so I was waiting to be shocked, but it didn't happen. It's really a Barry Keoghan success more than a brilliant film. And like I said earlier, it's perhaps not even great acting, but it's tremendous casting just for his character. They could remake it tomorrow with loads of other casting improvements, dialogue, but Keoghan elevates it. Honourable mention to the head butler.

I'm literally watching it now, oddly enough. It's a bit of a cheeky bastard with the angle on animal cruelty and sad songs. I don't want to cry, but I find it hard not to when they with a couple of scenes. I dunno if it's a thing when you have kids and find another emotional gear, but I find myself getting overly affected by emotional scenes these days. Anyway, it's a departure from the other 2 films, but an emotionally manipulative one, which is a shame.

I went into it knowing zero, but I think I'd have benefitted from the loose knowledge of "lad is invited to spend the summer at Chequers with the Cameron's". It's fully deserving of all the praise it's got. And now I understand why Sophie Ellis Bexter is charting again. I'd spoiler tag if I knew how, but ... SPOILER I assumed the death of the lad was gruesome, on account of the curtains being drawn and their reaction, but it seemed to not be? blockquote widgetblockquote widget

Saltburn 8/10 Keoghan should be up for an Oscar, he's superb if he's acting, unless he's not acting, in which case he should be locked up.

I could stand as an indy and do a better job of communicating my plans to the country in social media. It doesn't bode well for the LDs and Greens to have the machinery of donations and fail to do it. It's piss poor actually. And I WANT to vote for them, I just can't do it while they slack off.
-
Cmon, social media smarts is free. What actually is their position on HS2, on tax, on student debts, on house building, on Israel, on Russia? It's cunty that Starmer gets examined on all of these things but the rest don't.
-
I absolutely love Porro, he's a fucking great full back or wing back. Lethal delivery.
-
I don't actually feel the LDs or the Greens have bothered their arse to raise their profiles enough. The right wing groups are constantly talking, always prominent, but you've actually got to dig deep to find direct quotes from either party on what they would promise, or even their opinions on national and international matters. They could kick up a stink to the BBC about QT slots, but they seem happy in the shadows and picking up lost Tories and lost Labour. It's cowardly.
