  1. Wouldnt want Atletico, Sevilla or Lazio. I know people want revenge of Atletico for knocking us out but at the same time, Porto want us again because they want revenge and fancy their chances, strange as it seems. I dont like playing Italian teams, they seem to have too good a record against us for my liking. I know we're good but football's a lottery now with VAR and any team left could knock us out if a VAR shitfest ensues. Fuck, Ive been brainwashed by Creator and DrowningMan!
  2. This! I love it how they constantly go on about solskjaer's record over the first 100 games being equitable \ better than Klopp depending who you read. They totally ignore that the team solskjaer inherited finished 2nd the previous season under mourinho while Jurgen inherited a team that finished 8th. Yeah, not much difference in the quality of the squads there. And if you look behind the figures, Jurgen has completely revised the culture and backroom staff at the club beyond 100 games. What has solskjaer done at united? I dont think there's a club anywhere in Europe, even Norway, that would take solskjaer over Klopp if they had the chance.
  3. I keep saying it. He's only been out long term due to a very bad ACL. He was storming in the games against city and would have played in the Kiev final but for that injury against Roma keeping him out for the year. He was arguably our best player against Atletico. He got this knock on his knee, I dont know if the club were uber cautious with the previous ACL, so have eased him back slowly. He's been out a little longer than Hendo who had the same injury against Chelsea. Even Alli has picked up injuries in training, it isnt unusual. The lad offers a goalscoring threat from midfield that we lack. To some, he's the new Lovren \ Hendo, the player they want out of the club but I dont see Jurgen thinking that way.
  4. Harrumph. Manchester United remain firmly behind Ole Gunnar Solskjær, and the club’s hierarchy are confident his record as manager shows the side are on an upward trajectory. There is a strong belief that despite crashing out of the Champions League on Tuesday at RB Leipzig, United can mount a title challenge this season. The executive are disappointed to be in the Europa League, but Solskjær’s win ratio and ongoing rebuilding of the squad, which has impressed them, mean he retains their support. It is seen as significant that when United host Manchester City in Saturday’s derby they will be only five points behind the joint leaders, Tottenham and Liverpool, with a match in hand and that the club remains in contention in four trophies. The manager’s recruitment of Bruno Fernandes in February is regarded as a catalyst: since then United are second only to Liverpool for points won. After 10 Premier League matches this season United’s 19 points and 19 goals is better than the 13 points and 13 goals last term, when they finished third. There is also no desire from the club to feed the perception of a cycle of hiring and firing managers since Sir Alex Ferguson departed in 2013, with the imbalanced squads and wider lack of identity it is believed to cause. In any case, the club believe there are growing indications the team can compete for a 21st league title and other trophies under Solskjær. His rebuilding job so far is considered by the club to have given the squad the requisite character plus the desired blend of academy graduates – personified by Mason Greenwood – with recruitment of established players such as Fernandes and Edinson Cavani. There is a belief the team have the identity that was lacking under David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and José Mourinho. Of his predecessors in that post-Ferguson era Solskjær’s 56% win ratio from 108 matches in all competitions (60 victories) is second only to Mourinho’s 58% from 144 matches (84), with Moyes’s 53% placing him third (27 from 51) and Van Gaal last on 52% (54, 103). The United hierarchy are also conscious of how Solskjær’s record compares with managers at the club’s direct rivals. His win ratio is inferior to the 61% of Liverpool’s Jürgen Klopp and 72% of City’s Pep Guardiola but better than that of Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta (55%), Chelsea’s Frank Lampard (54%) and Tottenham’s Mourinho (53%). After 108 games Klopp, who has since led Liverpool to the Champions League, Club World Cup and Premier League, had a 50% win return, 6% less than Solskjær’s. Since Solskjær’s first game in charge in December 2018 his record places him some way behind Klopp’s 73 victories from 104 games and Guardiola’s 81 from 110 over the same period. Strong United backing for Solskjær does not mean unconditional support and results will continue to be monitored. After City, United play Sheffield United, Leeds, Everton (in a Carabao Cup quarter-final), Leicester and Wolves before the end of the year, and there is confidence the manager can embark on an impressive run. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/dec/09/solskjaer-retains-strong-manchester-united-backing-before-derby
  5. We are more than good enough to beat scotty's Fulham in a game of footie. But, VAR is in the mix.
  6. Every team is the one to avoid if you get shite VAR decisions like tonight. Thing is, the twats at UEFA will be congratulating themselves about how 'well' VAR worked tonight. The way I see the footie right now even if we drew the weakest team left, the game will still be a fucking lottery due to VAR.
  7. Erm, dont forget, rubbish in, rubbish out. We're not talking Data here!
  8. Wouldnt disagree with any of that. The point about united's handball goal standing yet Taki's goal being scrubbed is very pertinent. I dont believe in conspiracy theories. The refs and VAR officials are just shit, inconsistent or both. It's supposed to level the field but one club in England at least is benefitting massively from it and their fans laughingly call us LiVARpool!
  9. Yeah but who could united draw in the next round? Oh wait........
  10. That ref looked about 25 tonight. Completely out of his depth and mishandled some frankly diabolical 'challenges' by the danes. The time taken by VAR was a joke. 8 minutes added time? Yeah, there were a few subs. Missed the penalty incident so cannot say if he was offside or not. Their '2nd' a player in the build up from the ball nodded across our box clearly was offside who then stepped off the pitch then came back on behind our keeper and last defender to play the ball again so he's offside. Taki's goal, VAR just looked for an excuse to disallow that. Someone said it clearly came off Sadio's hand? Well yeah, they just needed to take the best part of 2 minutes to decide it 'clearly' came off his hand. Yet another shitfest by VAR.
  11. Their '2nd,' the guy who received the ball from the header was offside when he put the ball back into the box. He then stepped off the pitch then stepped back on to it to pass to the fella who put it in the net. No way was that goal on side or legit, Roger.
  12. Shit the bed again like they did in last year's semi 2nd leg. Clown gets sent off for 2nd yellow in the 75th minute and within 10 minutes conceed the winner.
  13. Might find himself suspended for the next 2 CL games if he did. Id rather players just refused to shake hands \elbow bumps with the shite officials and utterly blank them.
  14. Like I said, football's a lottery now. Just draw lots for the result because what teams do on the pitch doesnt seem to count nowadays.
  15. Frothing at the muff?! Needs to get down to the clap clinic!
  16. I understand you line of reasoning but who you going to go to in the next 12 months that isnt a significant footballing step down? Real and Barcelona are basket cases on the field and both seem it off it. Bayern? Would they want him? Same with Juve and he'd be moving to a league that might be seen as a bit of a stroll so not a new challenge.
