  1. Try playing again after 13 years - started up again to help out a mates team at 44, fuck me it's like learning to walk. I feel like one of those people who wake up from a coma with no memory and have to learn how to make a cuppa! Played Monday night and my legs fell off. Wish I had stayed retired.
  2. He was more than tapped up in San Chupito's! Fucking knocked out cold as a matter of fact.
  3. It would be a dereliction of duty to not sign a centre-half at the very least, although we do need another CM of some form (not necessarily a replacement for Keita, don't mind if we wait). But, and I know I am throwing a shitty grenade into the argument and deserve the negs, but whilst Rodgers was the manager the reason that we didn't sign top players because he was the manager and not a big enough name, and that Klopp will attract those top players as a top manager! We've improved the attacking side - defence and midfield to go.
  4. There is always a mass brawl outside the KFC on County Road! We may have to relocate?
  5. They've always said he was overrated Ross! Him, John Stones and Lukaku all overrated. Unlike Keane, Klaasen and that other lad, who Barcelona were gutted to leave (via Malaga).
  6. I think Monaco are a good example of good buys and good planning, TK is right, there is no reason why you need to spend big money - we need to be far better at spending what we have - whatever that amount is. Never mind a table lamp - we buy a fucking Betamax copy of E.T. when we asked for a table.
  7. Oh yeah - we'll be encouraged to start on each other. But, before that we have a few years of 'saboteurs ruining our economy' to keep us going. Any time aspects of the economy go south - that'll be the 48% sulking.
  8. Haha I was only joking there mate! Sorry, I've been warned off emojis by General - it's his fault.
  9. I think the days of Shankly (pre-Bosman) where you still held the player registration after his contract finished, are entirely different to post-Bosman. Shankly may have been a great socialist, but akin to dictator as a club manager !
  10. Is it? Is it really? Is it? Really? Haha - gotta love forums.
  11. Nah I read it as 'if the club doesn't want to sell' they can say fuck off. In other words nobody is 'forced' to sell a player, which is a fair point.
  12. You mock, but the pay is quite good! They give me a transcript and everything. If you want i'll pass on your details?
  13. I agree with a lot of what you say, but - the elephant in the room is what you do when your highest paid player effectively downs tools. Yes, you are right - you can tell them to fuck off. But i'm not sure it benefits us - at least not all the time. But, I think where I am disagreeing with you is in the suggestion that FSG are actively selling our players, and it is part of their business model. I don't think it is. They are business men and therefore greedy cunts. I walked out on 77 minutes like everybody else, and since I got my season ticket in 96 I have never bought so much as a coffee from them. No merchandise at all. They can fuck off. For the record I don't think Coutinho is a Sterling or Torres, if we say no - he'll be fine.
  14. He is such a horrible, horrible cunt. Epitome of these talentless cunt.
  15. A socialist not wanting to be part of something bigger is counter-intuitive surely?
  16. Sorry mate, I disagree, I don't think it is as straightforward as that. Did you want to keep Sterling? Or a half-arsed Torres? This isn't FSG - players have left before. We didn't criticise the club, or question their motives, we moved on. So far they denied Suarez a move - until it suited all parties, and they have said not for Coutinho. I don't think there is any evidence they are actively 'selling' their best players.
  17. Torres was 3 months after they took over the club, you are being disingenuous including him! He wanted out, and made it obvious. Suarez - left for Barcelona, and Sterling lied and lied and went. The club couldn't do anything. Keegan, Souness, Rush, Houghton, McManaman - why did they leave?
  18. Good point. But, not the point argued e.g. it isn't an example of 'moneyball'. And in those 50 years, the last 25 have hardly been a succession of trophies - 5 successful seasons these past 25! That leaves this 'team' on par with the other 20 teams.
  19. Same here! One of my main reasons for being pro-European was that I wanted more regional control/federalism as a consequence.
  20. Sorry mate, but i'm pretty sure that isn't an example of 'moneyball' at all. Selling isn't part of the concept (they don't sell in baseball for one-thing). They have shown no desire to be a selling club! Except when it comes to selling the shite they have previously sold!
  21. I've never been one to turn a days work down!
  22. It is terrible. That is the best bit by a distance.
  23. Yep! You are spot on. We've got better (ever so slightly), but the amount of shite we have bought over the years is depressing.
  24. Thing is - the Lib Dems put that very same pledge central to their election campaign. And lost! It seems that people just want to get on with it now. Unfortunately the country voted to punch itself in the face!
