  1. One goal. I hate to say it but the mouthy twat Pickford was the difference between them going over the season. Best case scenario is a firesale of a few players and a transfer ban. Still don't understand how they have gotten away with Usamonv owning them and managers saying he is in charge, Panama papers etc.
  2. Neto is out due to personal reasons - Travers is in. Dyche has 3 CBs as he's brought Cody in. Vardy on the bench for Leicester.
  3. Bournmouth didn't stay in Liverpool last night. Apparently they haven't forgotten what happened at Goodison in 2020 when they got relegated. Not sure what for but probably Everton fans being cunts when they went down.
  4. Only scored more than once at home all season that was with DCL under Lampard back in October. Dyche has 6 in 9 (my count is 8 games). Bournmouth can do this - i can imagine a draw.
  5. There was an election campaign and he came 2nd with voters despite his name not being on the ballot. No doubt he is the man. Let's just hope he finds the magic elixir or understands he might get subbed and get rested a bit more if he doesn't peform to his very high standards.
  6. Maybe we just need to get Mo on the Vardy workout plan - a case of Red Bull nicotine patch and a double espresso.
  7. The Milner door. One of Milner’s mantras is that if you are on time, you are late and he won’t accept excuses. He’s never been one to back away from a discussion and the refusal to cut corners in terms of how he looks after himself is the reason he will still be playing in the Premier League next year at 38. Performing at an elite level at the age of 40 as his good friend, the England fast bowler Jimmy Anderson, is doing is a huge target; should that happen, he will probably eclipse Gareth Barry and take the Premier League record for most appearances. His routine is set in stone. He will arrive at Liverpool’s training ground first to do a session of his own work before breakfast, sometimes yoga other times conditioning work. After breakfast, he will do the club’s scheduled daily work, then train before going into a recovery session in the gym. And he will always be remembered there. When Liverpool’s new training facility was built, it was planned out that the gym would be next to the players’ rest area. But to access it meant walking out of one door, around the side of the building and then back into the gym. Never one to stay quiet if he thinks something can be improved, he asked why the rest area and gym wasn’t connected. It didn’t take long for this to be rectified and, in tribute, it is now known as the James Milner Door — fitting for a man who pushes himself to the limits physically. A story from last summer illustrates this: a keen golfer with a very respectable handicap, Milner was invited to play in the Icon Series, a pro-am tournament in New York; the standard was competitive but it was an opportunity for a cross section of sport stars to unwind. There was a good social scene in the evening, with figures such as the great Australian batsman Ricky Ponting, his tennis playing compatriot Ash Barty, NBA legend Steph Curry and Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps all enjoying the hospitality. But Milner was out running around the course at 6am each morning, at a pace around six minutes per mile, determined not to miss a beat. He had been the subject of an enquiry from Aston Villa 12 months ago but Reds boss Jurgen Klopp had made it clear he still had a role to play. 8. In the past 15 years only Vardy and Defoe aged 31 plus have scored more than 15 Premier League goals back to back. Salah will be 31 when the season starts. One was a late late bloomer the other Defoe was out of favour with England and not playing European football with Sunderland. Not sure playing in England v Spain is a fair comparison for older attacking players. Maybe getting a rest next season in Europe might give him a breather. He's going to do what he's going to do but a fella who has a hyperbaric chamber in his house seems the sort to look for any small gain.
  9. I'd say Italy do a Ronaldo goalhang and notch up some numbers there.
  10. It's because he's the living legend of Egypt he could retire and comeback Roger Milla style. His personal records are the records for all of Egypt. I'd say he probably has his eye on a few African scoring records rather than Liverpool ones. Him playing in England with his workload for Egypt he will be very fortunate to continue at his high level. As you say maybe he wants to achieve stuff with Egypt and is happy to curtail his playing career early.
  11. An early goal for Leicester would make Goodison very edgy. Dyche is a man who is used to setting up a team to avoid defeat not chase a win.
  12. He can still go on to be President Mo. If he wants longevity at a high level he has to consider it right? Recovery and rest as athletes age is a big factor.
  13. He's into his fitness more than Bruce Lee. I reckon he would have been massively impressed with Milner joining another Premier League club at his age and his overall fitness. Salah is his own man and has his eyes on all sorts of personal goals. I'm sure he would have considered how international football might impact on that.
  14. Salah is an excellent professional off the pitch and has been rewarded with his constant availability. He could learn from Milner and jack in international football. He's 31 in June, might be the time.
  15. One mistimed tackle, dodgy officiating or a wonderstrike and anything can happen. So the final round of fixtures will involve Dyche, Allardyce, Moyes, John Terry and a solid Bournemouth keeper with the first name of Norbert.
  16. Joelinton pulls out in the warmup - Leicester throw a suprise tactically and an early yellow for Newcastle. Maybe they are a bit nervy.
  17. Arsenal aren't winning the league under Arteta who stinks of Brendan. Arteta will be gone within 18 months arguing over who gets to keep the dog in the divorce - save that doggo shit for Hinge, Mr Arteta. If they do have the reported resources for Caicedo and Rice and keep what they have then there will definitely be pressure on him. Chelsea are a complete unknown. I rate Pochettino and I think there are some overlaps with Klopp in how they go about things.
  18. Outside of Liverpool I don’t think Alisson gets the respect he deserves. Apparently Everton have had one win in the last 10 and still not getting relegated.
  19. In the League we get the same 3 points whoever the opposition are. At the end you add up the points. As this is cumulative you get to tally up in a similar manner against good or shit players. So I'd say small samples are less reliable like looking at the league table in August. But the more results there are then... This definitely has its flaws. Although I thought this highlighting Pickford and Neto performing well whilst Ward Bazunu and Meslier less so was interesting. To test it further, we need Everton to sell Pickford and get Meslier or Ward maybe!
  20. Expected Goals Prevented. It's used to measure the GK performance irrelevant of how the defence peforms, tactics etc (if that is possible). Neto and Pickford are said to be responsible for overperforming and are credited with preventing 2.8 and 3.1 goals. In comparison to Ward who is said to cost his team an additional 8.8 goals, Meslier 11.8 goals and Bazunu 18.8. Like xG but with preventing. So you have zones and say Salah takes a shot in a spot that is measured at 0.2 that means players should score 20% of the time and the GK would be allocated a score if he saves or concedes it. The list above is a cumulative total.
  21. Correlation is not causation but I thought this was interesting. The bottom 3 keepers played the majority of games for Leicester, Southampton and Leeds until they got dropped. Look at Neto and Pickford near the top. Neto got injured and Travers played, Bournemouth struggled when he was out. Forest replaced Henderson with Navas in a deadline deal in Jan. Moral of the story is if you are shit don't have a shit keeper. Leicester selling Schmeichel last summer looks a bad bad deal.
  22. Peter Bankes is doing the West Ham Leeds match. He went to Bootle High school and he's never reffed us or Everton.
  23. The only opposition we have are the Unions and grassroots campaigns. Not suprisingly Labour didn't support the SNP in their fight against the Public Order Bill. Influential people within the Labour party have a track record of being illiberal - Starmer is continuing the tradition. I think we can put to bed Starmer as a defender of Human Rights from what we have seen under his leadership. They will hide behind it being Tory legislation like a lot of the the other bills passed. They are not opposing this as they like harrasing people whose views they don't share.
  24. Households could have saved 45 billion according to this. Big claim. Inflation would have been lower which means Mortgages and rents would be lower etc. The report reveals that companies made £45 billion profit from the UK domestic energy system in 2022. If that money had been kept in public hands, it could have been used to save each household £1,800 on their energy bills. Read Unite general secretary, Sharon Graham’s interview in today’s FT. Household energy bills have been one of the biggest contributors to high inflation. Using energy profits to freeze bills in summer 2021, when prices started to shoot up, would have meant inflation was at least 4.1% lower last year. So in due course nationalisation could markedly reduce inflation.
  25. Living. Jack. He didn’t make movies he made classics. He could tick all the boxes of awards, memorable lines, scenes and recognisable voice. Oh and he can write a bit, imagine ad-libbing in a Kubrick film and adding scenes to a Scorsese score.
