  1. There are some tough games indeed, however team/squad has come a long way, the idea that we could still pop a very strong team out against Leicester is pleasing..granted things are short at back etc but Klopp has a habit of getting best out of players and in games like this we can almost go in as underdogs/less pressure etc and prevail. Only issue is no fans to get behind whatever team is put out. No matter what 11 start, when I think back to times under Hodgson with exception of a few obvious candidates our first team back then makes me shudder.
  2. We have 3 keepers, I'd be playing Adrian and Kelleher outfield
  3. Sky on Salah - "He is also a doubt for Liverpool's clash with Leicester on November 22 due to UK government coronavirus rules dictating a 10-day isolation period after a positive test" Anyone know if he may be out of woods by Sunday?
  4. Agree big time, that 1-1 draw, when Lallana/Milner offside for our goal, he ran our defence ragged for the duration. That Anderson also was on form in that game, he seems to have gone off the radar big time, seemed like a v good player.
  5. That is something...wouldn't be experimenting too much. Neither Trent or Gomez are great in the air. Sheffield Utd exposed us a for a while on that one and if West Ham play Haller I could see them doing similar. I think if need be Rhys Williams starts otherwise change as little as possible. Assuming Thiago is fit our possession/attacking stats should improve even more and if those up front click then hopefully they are so freaked about what we have going forward that the defence wont be under the cosh so much. I think Firmino will start because he scored against Sheffield Utd, if he is dropped after scoring wouldn't makes sense. Klopp loves him and backs him to find form. 4-0
  6. He was superb, couldn't believe how impressive he was, looked a real world beater.
  7. I think Williams is a better option than Philips, think the latter is just too slow. Antonio in particular can be a real handful.
  8. Correct. If possible I thinks it’s more attack attack attack as best form of defence and Fabinho taking a defensive role for the foreseeable! Only issue our defence not the same pace in it and we will be obviously more vulnerable in the air..why Firmino regardless of form might be chosen.. I think less ball knocked around the back the better and whoever manages our offside line (assume Matip) needs to show some leadership fingers crossed staying fit for 2.5 months. In for a tough ride but got to ha e faith in Klopp. Could really do with positive news on Thiago??
  9. Even if we did sign a replacement we would be in this mess. A replacement for Lovren is easy enough, finding one for VVD not possible.
  10. From what I recall that tackle wasn’t as bad as those two yesterday but it was deliberate!! Those two yesterday were not tackles..how Thiago got up is unreal and notthing from that brain dead prick Richarlison! Think Stevens went to the hospital afterwards to visit Beglin, to ease his conscience apparently against the advice of Kenny I think. Ancelotti can do one also...he sent that lot out yesterday to kick like fuck..Allan amazingly only picked up a yellow in the 84th minute!!
  11. Maybe so, Arsenal lemons for the last 10 years do seem like a club that has great players in training! That Pepe!! Teams in PL dont have a KOP and I think any player with that behind them will potentially push themselves a little further, perform to a higher standard, just gives them the edge. In the same respect the away game heightens that awareness of them and us and I think some of our guys thrived on that, Firmino last year seemed to perform better in away games for some reason. The other theory is I'm just talking complete bollocks... which has been known on occasion... and our players are all crap!
  12. I think we are stuck between "I can't believe what happened" and "I don't want to criticise this team that has only lost 4 games in the last 80" I think everyone still gives a fuck, but because this team have been so good over the last couple of years then they will get a pass from many. I don't think interest is being killed by the lack of crowd, but I think the lack of an atmosphere at ground is leading to a lax approach from many players in the PL, quite a lot of Liverpool players on Sunday were on cloud 9. I also think you will continue to see really strange results because of COVID, how it affects Liverpool longer term only time will tell but knowing Mane/Thiago/Henderson/Matip will be available creates more positives than negatives.
  13. I think Pope/Schmeichel just about the best of that lot, not a huge Lloris fan and Ederson...nah...he was adorned when they accumulated those huge points totals but in fairness City had so much possession Karius would have looked a world beater. He was all over place last year and his mistake v Leeds is not uncommon for him recently. I think Leno like others in PL are good shot stoppers but lack the basics, commanding at corners, make big saves when called upon just once in a game. I do think Arsenal sold the wrong keeper to Villa. Henderson does look like he could be best of the rest but time will tell if gets a good run of games.
  14. Thats interesting, Just checked on that match report...https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/great-games-aston-villa-5-181147 Some similarities indeed!! LIVERPOOL were the best team, by a mile, in English football. The best, perhaps, in world football. “I’m not detracting from those Villa boys,” said manager Bob Paisley, “they did well. “But my defence... I didn’t think they could play so badly.” In their remaining 23 league games, on the way to retaining their title, the Liverpool team so utterly shredded by Villa that night were to keep 11 clean sheets and conceded just one goal in each of nine other matches.
  15. I agree, Kelleher, very good with feet, but I prefer the basics, good in the air, decent shot stopper and vocal. At times when i see Kelleher in the net he seems very small, positioning ok but he just doesn't dominate the goal. Think it would be madness to drop Adrian based on that mistake, could understand Madrid game, but not that...if we were dropping based on that performance we would have to bring in the reserves as there were so many shocking performances.
  16. Thats a debate to be had...Pickford makes those types of mistakes in a lot of games...his mistake v Brighton at weekend a child wouldn't make. Origis, was comical. I think the guy is an absolute clown, after each mistake he looks around as if to blame someone else. Think fans have more than enough of him, he blows up in Derby he could be benched. Much of a muchness... PL appearances: Pickford 149, 38 clean sheets PL appearances: Adrian 139, 37 clean sheets This was effort v Fleetwood town
  17. You must recall a few bad ones also from the 50s?
  18. I think if you showed that report to all the players involved they couldn't disagree with much...very good. Adrian will get the blame, fair enough he started the shit show but he couldn't have done much about the other 6 they scored or the other clear chances they created. Maybe Allison might have made a better fist of them as his (Adrians) positioning strange at times. The unpredictability of games without crowds, happening all over. West Ham mate even said to me (in jest) that given Sundays scorelines he was disappointed with only scoring 3. When I looked at that game again they could easily have done so, against what I would consider not the worst defence in the world. They did same V Wolves and could have scored more! This trend will continue and best way given the keeper situation is to get those 3 on the pitch with Thiago leading it by bossing the possession game. Less pressure on the back 4 by keeping the bloody ball!! Anyway we could be an awful lot worse...we have 3 top players to return in Thiago, Henderson and Mane...not Downing, Charlie fckn Adam and Andy Carroll!!
  19. Thats it, the only hope is you catch a very young one that is looking to climb the ladder, Henderson may be that one at United, but there is a reason they are 2nd choice! Having said that, Villa keeper I thought was better than that Leno!
  20. One game for me v Arsenal in league, granted we had title pissed at that stage, but first half hour we played them off park, got a great goal and in total control. That happened in a full Emirates half the cunts would have left by then and players would be a total nervous wreck.. They actually did nothing to get themselves back into the game, Allison and VVD obliged.. Everton is another interesting one...no doubt Pickford would be getting it and that would translate to the team.. Agree would be interesting to hear player perspective though, but gotta think our lot benefit from fans more than most!
  21. Yep, 85 could easily win it and it will be the team that makes the least fck ups this time..hopefully we bundled more than the average into one night. Just think absence of crowd numbs the sharpness..players all over the place at quite a few clubs with exception of a few e.g. Salah seems to have ground running so far..work for Klopp to do but rather have him in charge than anyone else!!
  22. Couldn't agree more...they are not the brightest but surely someone could have had a word in the ear and say not fckin now or not at all!! Thing is with that 1st goal, Joe Gomez...he who hesitates...he had a good chance of getting to it..Martinez did something similar a bit later and got away with it..I don't think he is in the Karius bracket but just another disappointment..
