A midfielder who is able to score goals is desperately needed. Though this problem could be solve some what by moving Coutinho to the centre, but this leaves the left empty. Henderson could play on the left too, but now no one will be on the right. We would not be seeing Allen for some times now for sure.

Some how i just feel the challenge has some evil intention in it. Suarez is already limping with his right leg, and sturridge is asked to warm up (from the commmentor). The studs struck exactly in the right knee. Maybe just a coincident. This just reminds me of world cup 2010 final, where De jong (i believe) studded someone straight in the chest and only got a yellow.

I feel Henderson is just too much into running and chasing sometime. He is always left stranded when the opponent changes direction or pace. Gerrard definitely put in an extra gear for this derby, but it is still painful to see him losing his pace over the years. Coutinho should be played more central but then no one will be able to fill on the left though. Lucas did good enough to shield the defense, but at the same time he gave away fouls. Sometime they score from those set pieces, sometime they don't. Allen is better as the link-man in the tight space, he is good okay until the miss of the season. Some loans would do good to him with game time, because he is definitely not getting those after today for quite some time.

All eye are on Flanagan and Allen today. Fair enough, Flanagan did well and held his ground, quite a surprising performance from him. Allen is still okay until the miss, the midfield in nonexistent anyway. Suarez was so isolated in the first half. The defence is on the 6 yard line, and midfield on the penalty box. They must well just all stand on the goal line instead.

The set piece defending is SHIT. We need Sakho on after they throw in the loanee from Barca. The midfield is really non existence, especially later in the game. Allen's miss will be miss of the season for sure. Mignolet is man of the match for me. He kept Liverpool in game with the numerous 1 on 1 saves he had. Moses could have done better for the second last chance, but with the ball possibly curving, it is understandable.

Allen should never see the field again.

Petty sad that we does not have another Midfield to sub in, crowding out the center is petty important to stop Lukaku. I foresee we need Sakho on, if they throw in 1 more striker. We are barely holding onto Lukaku right now.

Coutinho needs to play more center, support Suarez more. Flanagan is actually petty well keep up the good work he has done. CBs still holding on, they will have more work to do in the 2nd half. Gerrard needs some rest desperately, maybe Moses onto the right and Henderson in the middle.

Actually Europe isn't really that great. Lot of traveling time and we are not having enough depth to most of the position, except for the defence, for the amount of games in Europe. He will get his chance when the FA cup comes along

Some how got the feeling that BR is throwing smoke bomb about Sturridge's injury. Gerrard might not play the full 90 mins though.

I guess we are just going to see Cissohko then. Just like how BR played him for the pervious few games when Enrique is injured. No major reshuffle across the board with Johnson going left, Henderson right, or even 3-5-2 all over again.

To be honest, we can't really get much better with what we have now. Maybe slightly better luck with injury at full back position and that's it. But teams like City, Chelsea and even Spur have a much better squad than us, the only thing they are lacking in the team chemistry or tactic, which could change once their manager stumble upon the right formula. We really don't have the squad to go head to head against Chelsea or even Spurs. Grabbing 4th seems to be the only logical way

Heard that Enrique is out for some games due to knee problem. Would Cissokho get his chance again or Johnson will play on the left with Henderson or Kelly filling in at the right back. I don't really like the idea of Toure at right back though, he is just lacking in the running for the wing back position. Or we could see Flanagan again, not that he is much better actually. Predict a similar line up like against Fulham expect for replacement for any injury

He is a great guy, at least hard working. Right now there is really no way he will start unless injury happens. There is just no space for him in 4-2-3-1 , 4-3-3 or 3-4-1-2. If either of Coutinho,Suarez or Sturridge injured, i would assume he would fit in nicely. But so could Aspas and Alberto in the attacking position. So i guess it is down to the manager's choice to play a slightly better loan player, to one of the younger guys.

I am expecting an Alberto instead of a Coutinho. Of course it would be great if he can hit the ground and running

The thing is, who to sign with what we are able to offer and how much we are willing to pay. Any upgrade to the XI would cost a whole lot and thats considering they are willing to come without CL football guaranteed. The Striker department is excellent as long as Suarez stay. The Defence is full stacked with the possibility of a back up right wing back. The midfield could have some improvement though.

Lets just focus on the next game and makes sure Everton is dealt with first. The December fixture is where the truth unfolds, any result will see us remains within top 4. Or letting at least 3 team climb in front.

It will be more interesting if it is more of the "Germany vs Italy" type instead of the "England vs san Marino" waste time type
