  1. I just got this..... The "here" link isn't there! Thank you for contacting Royal Mail. Full information about opting out of all unaddressed mail, details of how to apply and associated timescales is available here. Please be aware that by selecting to 'opt out' of receiving 'Door to Door' mail, you are choosing not to receive any unaddressed mail from Royal Mail, and that could include important communications from local or central government. If you still wish to proceed with this, please refer to our website. You may also wish to consider reducing the amount of addressed direct mail you receive, by using the Mailing Preference Service. This is a free service that can arrange for your details to be removed from various mailing lists - you can find out more and apply online at www.mpsonline.org.uk. I am going to reply asking where the link is and whether I can be opted out and then back in when its over - sure somebody else posted they did that.....
  2. I might be in a minority here, but I don't give a shite ebout England even with the large red contingent. Cheering a team managed by that owl faced twat, that contains the likes of rooney, Fat Frank and possibly 3 bitters goes against the grain. it also means attaching myself to the same 'cause' as Chelsea fans for example who pride themselves with their shite George cross flags with CFC in the quadrants and I just can't do that it goes against the grain. My only hope is that all our lads come back fit.
  3. Lambert is better than Aspas so therefore we have improved the squad and the cover for our two main strikers - Aspas gets bin bagged now That is what this signing is about, surely. We will now get on with improving our first team options where needed.
  4. We could have all 11 starting for them, but if they are wearing that FA and Ingerlund badge rather than a Liverbird then it means nothing to me.
  5. I can see what you are getting at but it isn't as black and white as that - you buy when the timing is right whether its a squad player or as you say filling the holes. We move Aspas on Lambert replaces him - it's an improvement to the squad. Bring in the two or three top players we need to really push on, and the players who still stay but aren't guaranteed starters anymore then as you say improve the squads options. I see this as a calculated move to improve the options in an area we are a bit light in - Rodgers knows he is going to sack off Aspas and he can get Lambert in now in readiness to do that. I can see us buying 5 players in total including Lambert this summer and I think 2 or 3 will be regular first team starters and the other 2 including Lambert being back up - for me that will make us a better more balanced squad and improve our best 11
  6. We need decent cover up front. The lad knows the league, is an upgrade on Aspas and he's a Red - something that I think is needed still even in this day and age. Fighting on 4 fronts means we have to be able to change it a bit more so as a squad player its ok in my book. He takes a belting penalty as well which may come in handy if our captain isn't on the park. Get 2 years out of him whilst we consolidate our place back at the top table and build our other weaker areas.
  7. From what i've seen of the top sides in this competition this year we have got fuck all to fear next year.
  8. That is ridiculous - he is either fit to play or he isn't - if he isn't then he shouldn't have started. Can see the same thing happening with Luis at the World Cup though.
  9. Whilst I know injuries can happen to players at any time - this is one of the reasons I have no time for International football - they are employees of the clubs and all too often clubs end up suffering due to injuries that happen whilst players are away playing international football. The summer tournaments also have a negative impact on clubs preparation for seasons.
  10. Bad news for the lad - and potentially bad news for us. As others have said I can see him playing at nowhere near full fitness and then making the injury worse. Liverpool need to keep a close eye on this.
  11. Toure distancing himself from his agents shite on Twitter... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27484318
  12. This was grim... You get drawn at home to Barnsley in the 5th round after Luton and Havant and Waterlooville and you start thinking "We might be on a run here"... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHpdMu5miBM
  13. Went to both legs of that - Celtic is the loudest ground I have ever been in, was unbelievably loud. All I can remember about the 2nd leg was how many Celtic fans there were in all 4 sides of the ground, pockets of them everywhere.
  14. His agent is clearly a gobshite. The quotes attributed to him in that BBC piece are embarrassing. Sad thing is they will probably lead to him getting an improved deal on the contract he has which I seem to recall he got after his agent claimed he was unhappy last year...
  15. Going to take him a while to get things rolling there - let's say the Dutch go far in Brazil, then the inevitable break - going to have next to no pre season to start implementing his and his coaching teams ideas, plus the inevitable raft of new recruits and leavers. It's hard coming into a new club at any time, but during a World Cup summer and when you are managing in the World Cup it's even harder.
  16. The story of Liverpool's unforgettable 1983-84 Season.... Managed to get my hands on a copy of this book recently - written by Tony Evans it's a belting read so far. Isn't released until 29th May - but I would recommend it highly... The back cover extract is a frigging belter and sets the tone for the book brilliantly.... The sound of raucous young men drifted across the square, guttural, alien and dangerous. Testosterone and menace were in the air. The locals had stopped smiling. Liverpool were in town. The men had been singing pop songs and banging on the tables, chanting the words “I don’t know what it is but I love it” Now they were moving on to a drinking game. Suddenly it kicked off. A scuffle started, punches were thrown. Word spread rapidly: there’s trouble in the square. The news reached the Liverpool team hotel. One of the clubs directors, Syd Moss, was angry. “Lock them up, lock them up” he shouted. Like most people in the boardrooms of the game, he was sick of hooliganism. He headed for the entrance to see what was happening. “Don’t call for the police” someone told him. “It’s not the fans. It’s the players!” I've taken some pictures of the covers but have no idea how to get them from my phone to the forum, luddite that I am!
  17. Defo lazy gets! - madrid to barcelona is 386 miles but they have a high speed train that does it in 2 and half hours - so thats just a bit longer than say lime street to euston. I suppose there are a lot of journeys in spain that are a lot longer though - must be a bastard by donkey!
  18. Never paid much attention to whats what but it does seem like it happens a lot and there is no 'rules' around it. Just seems shit to me.
  19. I know that Spanish games don't have away followings like here but Barcelona gave Atletico 447 tickets for today. . . That is scandalous in a 98,000 stadium and for a title decider. I don't know but can't imagine that is the norm.
  20. The explosion of the internet and places like this (although this place is boss of course but you get my drift) it gave every knobhead a new platform to spout shite and its escalated since. I post on a forum that is a general discussion board - mainly footy, darts, ale etc. and the amount of shite being posted about us is unreal - some decent banter but most just shite. It's the look at me i'm an internet warrior mentality. . And whilst there are of course many decent interesting things on forums, facebook, twatter etc. It is also a breeding ground for shite and knobheads to spout shite. Add that to its power to arrange stunts like the plane stuff and for me there is your answer. One thing i know for sure is that a lot of people have lost sleep and a bit of dignity because we are back - we matter big time again, and the more shite we get means the better we are doing and the more we matter.
  21. Dad - 'too much wanking will make you blind, lad' Lad - 'i'm over here, dad' I'll get me coat!
  22. If i was a footballer i would refuse to play for Roy Hodgson.
  23. Sevilla goalkeeper doing a Jerzy Dudek!
