  1. Ha! McNulty has obviously been caught forgetting to switch over to his burner Twitter account. His "I was hacked" excuse is not going to fool anyone with a brain.
  2. The second line here is underrated IMO.
  3. As someone who ran a business in Russia for a decade, let me just say that every single statistic on jobs/economic indicators in the country is more or less completely made up. I kid you not, the way the government determined how many employees I had working for me was for the bureau of statistics to call me every quarter and just ask me "how many people work in your factory?" I could have completely made up any number I wanted to (and sometimes they'd ask me if I didn't have a few more I could count). It was bizarre. Granted, we lived in a very poor part of Siberia, but I know for a fact that unemployment was at least 40%, at least treble what was reported in the official government numbers every year.
  4. 2-0 at home, 1-1 away, and then we beat Chelsea 3-0 in the final. Heard it here first.
  5. Is it really Liverpool, Chelsea, Middlesbrough and Fulham in the semi-finals? I know I haven't paid any attention at all to this competition to this point but the early rounds must have been mayhem! Suddenly I'd be disappointed if we don't end up with the trophy. Hard to think of a bad draw tbh. Either we get Chelsea and we can avoid the stress of a final against them, or we get one of the easier teams and you'd have to think we'd be very heavy favourites to make the final. Fulham is probably the worst draw for us, as you might fancy them to give Chelsea a game.
  6. That Trump card video is actually amazing. Biden should record a TV ad where he basically just says "America, I know I haven't been perfect. But are you really going to elect a straight-up scam artist who sells you digital cards for $99?" and then play clips from Trump's own video.
  7. Villa? Who from the Villa squad makes our first XI? One player? Maybe two? I understand it's a frustrating result, but "we are so far behind Villa in quality that it is frightening" is a laughable thing to say.
  8. Too many people on here watched the match with Gary Neville commentating, I see. Honestly, we were unlucky. Yes, we weren't great, but we stifled them completely and we were quite unfortunate not to see one of those chances tucked away. 2-0 wouldn't have flattered us at all.
  9. If we in the West can't find a way to give the Ukrainians what they need to defeat the Russian invasion, then maybe we deserve the civilizational collapse that's coming. It is utterly baffling how the US is actually paying companies huge fees to disassemble tanks and IFVs for scrap at the same time they tell Ukraine that they don't have any to spare. This whole thing could have been over and done with already and everyone in Europe would be so much safer if we had just given them what they needed. Even now, we could still do it and it could be over in 6 months or less. Heaven forbid Trump wins the US election next year. He will try to force the Ukrainians into some sort of settlement where they abandon entire districts to be ethnically cleansed and mass raped by the Russians, the Ukrainians will inevitably refuse, and then we'll see him slowly reveal himself to actually be on the Russian side all along, maybe even to the point of providing the Russians with aid. All in the name of "peace," of course.
  10. Genuinely don't understand how people haven't understood by now that finishing is about 80% pure luck. I mean, granted, every now and again there's a player like Messi who consistently finishes way above their expected goals numbers over the long-term, but those are actually much rarer than you'd think. The truth is that you'd FAR rather have a striker who's "getting into position to miss them" than one who scores every chance but doesn't get that many, because as soon as the finishing fairy gets done with the latter player he turns out to be just Michu or Chamakh or whatever. Even Suarez his first season and a half with us fell victim to this. Hit the post a million times, very patchy finishing. Then he went on to be one of the best strikers in world football for 7 years! Not worried about Nunez. He's scoring or assisting about every 100 minutes even now, and when his finishing returns to the mean he'll be scoring 30/season for us.
  11. Just to clarify, at no point is this shark trying to eat me. I had just shot a fish and he was undoubtedly attracted by the fish thrashing around. You will see me load my speargun in the clip, but not to spear the shark (I don't even pull the bands back), I just needed a sharp-tipped object to poke him in the nose with to scare him away.
  12. Spearfishing is always exciting, but this encounter I had with an unusually aggressive 2-meter bull shark yesterday REALLY got my heart pumping!
  13. This is spot on. There is nothing better than an air fryer for roasting vegetables. It is about half the time of the oven and they come out more evenly roasted. I use mine probably 3-4x/week for that. Sweet potatoes, brussels sprouts, butternut squash, any of them, just drizzle some olive oil and salt on them, set it to air crisp and it's literally 10-12 minutes. Healthy and delicious!
  14. This is exactly right. Mo is absolutely brilliant, and will go down as one of our greatest ever players. But despite that, at some point he will lose his physical edge and his level will fall off a cliff - it happens to everyone. There is a pretty solid argument to be made that he might stretch that cliff out for a season or two beyond normal players - he certainly takes very good care of himself! However, as you say, you would rather let a player go a season too early than one too late, and it will be touch and go (and probably, in the end, come down to the offer that is made for a fee) as to whether he's sold or gets an extension.
  15. Solskjaer was indeed perfect. Although having said that, weren't they rumoured to be considering Giggs when they ended up appointing Mourinho? He won a few games as caretaker and there were rumours that they were considering appointing him permanent manager. That would have been even better than Solskjaer. Watching one of their genuine legends just absolutely flushing his reputation and status with the club down the drain, bit by bit, for a season or two would have been absolutely brilliant!
  16. His goal tonight reminded me of two goals from our recent history. First was Torres' sensational strike against Sunderland, because it's a similar position and curls similarly into the top corner: The second was one of Suarez' goals against Norwich, where he had just fluffed his lines with a poor touch, the opposition fans were winding him up, and he just goes and shuts them up with something none of their players is capable of doing on their best day: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/-9N-OY1EEy0
  17. Strangely, that will actually make half the forum like him more. When you're trying to "win the transfer window," it's actually better to overpay because then, like Arsenal did with Pepe or Chelsea with Mudryk, your fans can go on Twitter and crow about how great it is to support a big club and post memes of Liverpool fans crying or whatever.
  18. He has exactly half the touch of an anvil. Every other touch is pure Messi, then anvil, then Messi again. Just watch the way he does the defender before he hits the post Thursday. Unbelievable, silky smooth. Then runs past the keeper and turns into anvil-foot again. You can't take your eyes off him.
  19. It's two things, but it's mostly the second one. 1. Who takes over when he's gone, and would he be as good for the oligarchs? 2. You come at the king, you best not miss (RIP Prigozhin).
  20. That is a really strange way to phrase their statement, if you ask me. "We support the Palestinian people and their right to resist" is a bizarre word choice literally a few days after a mass terrorist attack that targeted civilians. It doesn't exactly say that the attack was justified or morally good, but it is walking a VERY fine line to avoid saying exactly that. There are plenty of ways to say that you stand against what Israel has done to the Palestinians without seeming to justify what Hamas has done.
  21. Not sure if you're being over the top for the sake of making a point, but for me, it's a hugely significant fact that this DOESN'T happen. As many have said on this thread, there isn't a "good side" in this whole situation, but I really think people let themselves down when they equate the atrocities on both sides. Israel has done plenty of evil, but the videos coming out of last week's attacks reveal Hamas to be basically little different to ISIS or Al Qaeda in terms of intentional targeting of civilians, especially women, children and the elderly.
  22. I fully agree with all of this, but I would also admit that there is a significant portion of our own fanbase, even on forums like this one, who have expressed multiple times how great it would be were Liverpool to be bought by a similar sportswashing evil wealth fund.
  23. A man who has a Twitter account and the ability to enter "Andre in a Liverpool shirt" on Dall-E, who could doubt that level of authentic journalistic credibility?
  24. Good to see that you agree with his tweet there, Gnash. I'm assuming that means you've changed your mind and now you're against Russia cutting people off from food & water.
