  1. Good luck to him personally but I hope he achieves nothing at Chelsea….It’s a shame he moved on as I thought he was a good player and could have contributed a lot this season. With regards to the transfer request then that is up for debate as we don’t have all the facts. At the end of the day he has been sold via a transfer request. (Which pisses me off! As these days you don’t know if the club have forced him to do it or he wanted to do it?) Though if you look at it on a value based sale then I think Liverpool got a good deal. He will be 29 next season and the older any player gets after 28 the more there value drops…. We wouldn’t have got as much in one or two years so lets stick with the owner’s philosophy and get some new young talent in with the money we get in. Good business Liverpool now lets move on…..!
  2. Totally agree... Skrtel is a centre back not a right back and if you put him up against half decent wingers running at him then he will become suspect! In fact I can already see it... Though there is a good chance he will be used at right back judging by his appearance against Bolton. I just hope that they don’t put him out there against bail on sunday...
  3. After a disappointing result stoke I think this game has become extremely vital to say the least. People may think I am jumping the gun by saying that because we are only 3 games in but the fact of the matter is that come the end of the season these are the games we look back on thinking only if we had won that game! Spurs are going to be challenging us for 4th and if that’s Liverpool’s target for this season then this game is a 6 pointer. (Massive!) I’m not one for knee jerk reactions! So as for players making the odd mistake give them a break! (This happens) so I have to disagree with the comments of dropping Carragher. He will be our captain Saturday and that is that…! The team played well last Saturday and in my eyes were unlucky not to get any points from the game. If we put are chances away and have anywhere near the amount of possession as what we had against Bolton and stoke then we should get a result from the game. As for the right back dilemma: It’s got to be Flanagan… He is our only fit right back. So for me we should play him…. What’s the point of him being involved in the 1st team if he’s getting dropped for centre backs every week? As a general point on Flanagan In my eyes he’s not good enough yet but with games he will develop and gain experience and hopefully come good, he had some good performances last season so I hope he can pull one out for us when we need him, Bale will test him on Saturday so Lucas will need to help out when he can…. Good luck to the lad! Team for sat if I was the king: ----------------Reina--------------- Flannagan--Carra--Agger---Enrique Downing----Lucas---Adam---Bellamy ------------Carol----Suarez--------- YNWA
  4. First of all I’d like to say i don't like to criticise any player or manager. I know that some people will say that David ngog is still learning his trade, still very young or inexperienced. In my opinion, and agree or disagree if you like, that David ngog is not good enough for Liverpool. Hence his move to Bolton… These players will look average / good for mid table teams… (If I am to predict his goal tally for this season with Bolton I would say around 8 )

  6. Stats below from EA Sports Player Performance Index identify the importance of new signing Charlie Adam on the new-look Liverpool side already… Liverpool’s Charlie Adam has proven to be an immediate success having signed from Blackpool. Adam is the highest ranked Liverpool player on the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index, currently in 11th place In terms of midfielders, Adam finds himself behind only the Manchester-based trio of Ashley Young, David Silva and Anderson on the Index. Adam has one goal in 287minutes of Barclays Premier League action this season and has hit the target with 62.5% of all his shots Adam has also proved his worth in defence, winning 83.3% of all the tackles he has entered in to this season as well as making three clearances Another new face at Liverpool is Jordan Henderson, who is currently in 24th place on the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index Henderson scored a goal and covered 10,577m before being substituted in Liverpool’s last game, a 3-1 win against Bolton Adam also scored his first goal for Liverpool in the same game, but played the full 90 minutes and covered an incredible 13,515m including a massive 7042m in the first half alone! Andy Carroll has had 9 attempts on goal, with just 4 on target (44%). Suarez has had 5 attempts on goal with 3 on target (60%) and 2 goals. While his fitness and lifestyle have been criticised by Capello, Carroll covered a total of 18.3km in the Arsenal and Sunderland games combined (unfortunately we don’t have complete data speed / distance data for the Bolton game). Co-striker Louis Suarez has covered 10.9km (if you average this per minute on the pitch Carroll covers 108m and Suarez 109.6m, so they’re pretty much even with Carroll playing for longer and therefore stamina factors in). Ryan Shawcross is the highest ranked Stoke City player on the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index, currently sitting in 45th place. Shawcross’ teammates Matthew Etherington and Asmir Begovic follow him, in 51st and 52nd places respectively Both Shawcross and Begovic have played all 292minutes of Stoke City’s Barclays Premier League games this season. Shawcross has won eight of the 12 tackles he has entered into and make six clearances, six interceptions and five blocks
  7. I hope no one buys them and they flirt with relegation... don’t want them down because I love the banter and the 6 points...
  8. I've got a spare if you need it mate. My brother has decided to go away with his Mrs. over Christmas so let me no...
  9. Mix it up and keep them thinking! Carol will make them come tight and leave the gaps for the Suarez and Downing…. If we want this 4th spot or better tomorrow in my eyes is a must win! No fucking about looking at what they might bring to the game… they should be thinking about what we will bringing… 1-4 to the reds is my prediction! 2 weeks for a real game is just to much to wait. internationals should be banned! :wallbutt: Any ideas on pubs tomorrow anyway?
  10. We all go the Trentham Lakes... its sound and it’s outside the ground..... No singing but it’s alright for a piss up before hand. (owe an you can grab some scran!)
  11. One shed this.... The Football Supporters' Federation - Leeds fans exonerated over Exeter incident
  12. The kings plan: We had a bad result last year against Northampton at home, and we'll do our best to avoid another bad result. We want to do the very best we can in this competition and although there will be some changes in the personnel we put out, the attitude should be exactly the same as it was on Saturday at the Emirates. "We'll give people an opportunity to play. The training has been superb, as has their attitude and commitment, so they deserve a game. "But it's not a game we just want to go through the motions for and fulfil our obligations in playing the fixture - we want to make sure we have a chance. We're not getting them (other players) involved because we're undermining the competition or we're undermining the football club at Exeter." Paul Tisdale's side beat Yeovil 2-0 to progress to the second round but have lost their last three League One outings. Last time they faced Liverpool in this competition it ended 11-0 on aggregate - with Dalglish scoring in both legs. But the gaffer added: "You totally respect any team you're going to play. We've put as much effort into our preparation for this game as we did for Arsenal on Saturday. "Exeter haven't had too much good luck, but they've played quite well - they've just not had any breaks at the right time. They had a difficult game on Saturday at Preston when they had a guy sent off after 20 minutes, but they only lost 1-0 and hit the bar in the second half. "It's going to be difficult, but in the way we're going to approach the game we'll have no excuse for a lack of preparation."
  13. Some info on this pit tonight: St James Park is a football stadium in Exeter and is the home of Exeter City F.C. The stadium is served by the St James Park railway station which is right next to the ground (the line runs behind the Grandstand). (It has been adopted by the club who contribute to its upkeep, under the community rail scheme, and its railings have been painted in the red and white of Exeter's strip). The current capacity of St James Park is 8,830, however the record attendance is 20,984, who watched Exeter lose 4-2 to Sunderland in an FA Cup Sixth Round Replay in 1931. zzzzzzzzzzz - were is the bar...? is there one?
  14. I agree with most people that we need to be giving are fringe players some minutes. So i would say why not use them... (That’s why we pay there wages so they can come in and do a job we need them 2!) Are 2nd string will win and win comfortably down there. Exeter are poor and i can only see a good result 3 or 4-0. Plus having fresh players for Bolton is key....
  15. Excellent report Dave! A good Monday morning recap of what i can only remember parts! Just the one point I like to bring up is that the fans were top draw on Saturday! Excellent down there…. class bring on Bolton Saturday!
  16. Nasri in Arsenal squad to face Liverpool... what a joke! if he plays wenger is digging deep... Wenger announced in his Friday press conference that the 24-year-old has been included in the Gunners' squad, with the revelation coming soon after City boss Roberto Mancini said he hoped to complete the Nasri deal within the next week.
  17. Does he make the cut? if not offload! Simples! if so - play him... (though i haven’t seen enough of him to pass a fair judgment) :|
  18. Breaking news!!!!!! - Fears grow that Arsene Wenger may need a rocking chair!!!! Fears were mounting last night that Wenger may need some kind of rocking chair and a warm blanket after reports began surfacing that he had finally lost it. Several sources inside the Arsenal camp claimed Wenger had started racing dressing room towels and hiding under the stairs to smoke an invisible ‘victory’ flavoured pipe.
  19. An away win would be class... but being honest it would be making up for not getting the 3 points last week! If we are to get a top 4 place then winning at home to sunderland is a must... tho if we do it the other way round and win at arsneal then thats all gud! role on tommrow...... This is a 6 pointer at this stage of the game! Arsneal will be 5th and liverpool 4th! come may!
