Gerrard, Souness & Mcdermott as a 3? Fuck, pass a tissue. As an aside I would loved to have seen Souness against Keane, he'd have torn his head off and shit in the hole.

I really do hope that FSG get it, that they are telling the truth and that they will invest in our manager to get it right, build us a new ground and and respect our history. I like what they have said and understand it. I just have a nagging doubt. Having worked for US companies, they're (as a rule) lying bastards. They do things by matrices - formulae that they believe a business should match to be successful. In the case of FSG they may well be applying a matrix to a business they have no understanding of. If it fails they will then look to maximise their profit by a sale and then fuck off.

So hes fit. Can pass or cross a ball like few others. Can tackle like a defensive midfielder, can spot and make a pass like few other creative midfielders and finish like the best striker. He was born a red and will die a red. Hes Souness, Mcdermott and Hughes rolled in to one, 32 years of age, captain of england and you want him fucked off. Ok

Legs gone? Strolls?? He might not have as much pace as he once did but he is definitely not finished. I'm not sure where I read it but I'm pretty sure that against Fulham he ran further than anyone else, something like 6.5 miles. To even consider letting him go is madness. If we did I bet all the teams above us would happily take him.

No idea what he would cost, i dont think much, but Berbatov would be worth a gamble. Pay him coles money on a 2 year contract. He might not work out but theres a great chance he could. No pace but vision, excellent touch and can score goals, also would be a great link between midfield and attack. You never know

One of the criticisms we get as Liverpool fans is about our infatuation with the past. The past has shaped us and is the reason why many contributors to this thread are fans. We have a glorious past and should rejoice in it. However things have changed, our great club has began to slip and we are no longer what we were, even in the recent past. We cant appoint big name managers and buy top notch players because we dont have the money. There is no sugar daddy on the horizon. We cant afford a different manager each season. All the club can do is try to build something for the long term, appoint a manager that has potential and a philosophy and we can only hope that the owners invest in him as best they can. There are going to be many setbacks, but other than the real threat of relegation, the club has to give Rodgers this and at least next season.

In my experience the atmosphere at Anfield has mainly been poor for years, even in the 80's. Big games, no problem. Any other games and its "sing if we're winning".

To be fair, if you were deciding to chip Northern Ireland off and paddle it towards the north pole it wouldnt be safe to do it based on that lads views. The "britain doesnt want you" might be an accurate comment, the "we cant afford you" could apply to many counties or areas of england or britain. You might not like it, but many of those people that want the flag flying consider themselves as british as you are.

I do despair of the fuckers some times. I'm from a Unionist background, went to school in Belfast during my early years. I believe the union flag should fly in the UK, but chucking petrol bombs and threatening the lives of elected officials hardly furthers the cause.

Downing, take a look at Cole and take note. He came on, was shite but kept looking for the ball and trying things and was rewarded with a goal. I think Cole cares, it might not be working for him but at least he is trying.

Saw AC/DC in i think 79 in a little one horse town, Malvern. Angus on Bon Scotts shoulders in the middle of the crowd. Most amazing gig i ever went to.
