  1. Lake Bell - Boston Legal, How to Make It in America & Wet Hot American Summer
  2. I'd consider the FX criticism more valid of an older show like Sons of Anarchy where bikers don't say fuck or cunt ever and escorts and porn stars don't show their nipples. There has been a basic cable relaxing on bad language recently. Recent FX shows use fuck and Feud got to use cunt. Shows like You're the Worst and The Americans have had some pretty sexualised scenes but still no nipples. I'd possibly mark Snowfall slightly higher than you both. I really liked that the cast were fresh to me. I'd not seen the leads Franklin, CIA agent, rebel/drug dealer and wrestler/drug dealer in anything before so to me they were the character rather than the guy from that series/film.
  3. Danny Hodge former amateur and professional wrestler and boxer. Still crushing apples one handed into his 80s
  4. OJ as The Terminator and Arnie as Kyle Reese. Producers felt audiences would have had a hard time accepting OJ as a ruthless unfeeling killing machine. Lance Henriksen was almost the title character too before Arnold suggested swapping roles
  5. 25 years later I'm still annoyed that Hicks dies off screen between Aliens and Alien3
  6. The "Characters you wish were not killed off so quickly" thread reminded of a few characters that were supposed to die and didn't or else survived much longer than originally planned. Got me thinking about how some series and films could've been pretty different in terms of story, character fates and cast etc. if they followed through with the original plans. Justified Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins) originally was to be killed at the end of the 1st episode. Breaking Bad Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) in the original plan was to be killed in the 1st series. Tuco Salamanca (Raymond Cruz) was supposed to be around for longer but asked to be written off due to a scheduling conflict. Sons of Anarchy Lee Toric (Donal Logue) was meant to be an antagonist for much longer. His Vikings contract meant he couldn't stay on as long as planned. The Long Kiss Goodnight Mitch Henessey (Samuel L. Jackson) as scripted and originally shot died at the end. Test audiences loved Sam Jackson so much the character's fate was changed. In the original script the 2 leads fucked but the studio changed this possibly due to the casting of a black actor. True Romance Original script had a typical Tarantino non linear timeline and Clarence lost his life not just his eye. Tony Scott felt it didn't need a flashback structure and earned a happier ending. Anybody got any others? It can be anything character fates, casting, tone, story just as long as the finished product varied from the original plan
  7. Any character that gets killed off for real life rather than story reasons. Jimmy Darmody in Boardwalk Empire - Michael Pitt is apparently really difficult to work with. Allen Doyle in Angel - Glenn Quinn had a huge drug problem which killed him a few years later.
  8. You could try Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files series. The main character is a private investigator and wizard.
