Any good private detective movie suggestions? I watched Devil In A Blue Dress the other night (8/10 if you must know) and realised how much I enjoy films about some guy going round trying to find out what's going on and fucking shit up. I've seen and loved Angel Heart, Brick, The Long Goodbye and of course Chinatown. Any other must sees? Conversely, City are 7 points down on this stage last season. As for Suarez, I think he should win Footballer Of The Year because he's been the best footballer this year.

La Vita è Bella (Life Is Beautiful) What's the Italian for Life Is Horrific And Depressing? The tale of how a Jewish Italian turns their capture by the Nazis into an adventure game for his young son. Roberto Benigni was only the second person to direct themself to a Best Actor oscar. It was actually pretty moving and the first half of the film, the pursuit of his wife, is quite a nice counterpoint to the more sober second half. A very good film. 8.5/10.

Watched it last week and would go along with this. Unsettling but compelling.

Untouchable French film about a paraplegic millionaire who challenges a young guy from the projects (...yo) to become his carer. I'd heard good things and it was brilliant. Feelgood without ever being schmaltzy or mawkish, just charming and actually quite funny. Seems like they took liberties with the "Based on a true story" mulch, but it doesn't matter because it was enjoyable. 9/10.

I watched this last week. Two days in the life of a struggling clothing label owner caught between thoughts of burning the factory down for the insurance money and war flashbacks. Played excellently, as always, by Jack Lemmon. Not quite as good as Glengarry Glen Ross, but not much is. 8/10.

Indeed, I think Sterling's been a bit overused through necessity so far this season. He's certainly a handy option to have, and in that team would be able to come in on either flank and shift someone into the middle without a real drop in quality. I imagine our pursuit of Ince is to provide a back-up for the left that Sterling offers for the right.

I think a potential forward line of Suarez - Borini - Sturridge is a massive improvement on what we've had to rely upon in the last couple of months, with Sterling in reserve. Three goal threats rather than just one, a lot of energy between them and all fairly comfortable to interchange. I think with Gerrard, Lucas and Henderson/Allen in midfield and a bit of width provided from Johnson and Enrique (when fit), you can start to see a team shaping up.

Saw this article yesterday for anyone who's interested. He's won possession more than any other player in the league. I think he needs to start proving that he can be a bit more adventurous when he does have the ball. Sometimes it seems like he's trying to protect his pass completion percentage.
