Some absolute shenanigans with that late offside. Sky or VAR show it as and offside without actually showing the last defender on the screen. It was a proper ridiculous camera view selection. If you look on Twitter there’s a view with the defender and you can see the angle has been drawn in line with the Everton defenders foot. Going back to the original angle they showed on the goal replay you can see the Everton player is facing the sideline of the pitch and his shoulder is clearly the nearest part of his body to goal. It’s just another example of them interpreting it a different way again. I reckon the chances are he was still off but they spent about 5 secs checking it so we will never actually know.

They were a pretty entertaining watch and gave us a scare in the first game that season. Fulham don’t really do it either, neither do Sheff United or Leeds. He’s probably our only centre back, who isn’t Van Dijk, that doesn’t need to be coached through games. He knows his role and sticks to what he’s good at. He never seems rattled or loses his head.

We’ve been alright. Created well more than in recent games. Sheff Utd are shit obviously but so are a lot of teams we’ve struggled against. They’ve not got much going forward but can defend. We’ve actually been creating chances. Bobby’s finishing is Shite but his overall game along with Mane and Salah has been fine. We are clearly playing different tactics are going into the forward a lot quicker which means they’ve got to work harder which they are. It’s funny watching everyone moan about the side to side boring football we’ve played and we change it and everyone is still moaning about it. The performance have been fairly good.

All I want from the mayor and the council is to control the city being ripped off by housing/property companies and to make good decisions regarding infrastructure. The problem with that is that public transport into the city is a fucking disgrace. The same number of people will drive down there that were always going to and it will be absolute gridlock now nearly all day everyday. Second is the decision to knock down the flyover at the rocket. Another blatantly corrupt decision. Conveniently when Everton need a shit load of stone to fill in a dock to build their new stadium two flyovers in the city need to be knocked down because they aren’t stable. There’s absolute fuck all wrong with that flyover in childwall. The traffic before Covid was bad but it will be unmanageable if they get rid of it and cause carnage in the area for years. It all comes down to the commuter trains into the city. They’re fucking rammed everyday because there aren’t enough of them. The buses are just too slow so nearly everyone drives and every decision they make seems to make the situation worse one way or another. Finally the housing situation. For years everyone could see the leasehold scandal just building and building (pardon the pun). There is a housing crisis and so many people just desperate to buy a house didn’t know what they were getting in to. It would have been so easy for the council to say any building company that wants planning permission to build new houses in the city has to sell those houses as freehold. Instead they allowed the residents to be ripped off. It’s still happening now with freehold estate fees and the council not adopting roads. It means people paying council tax and then paying another company to look after communal grass, lighting etc with no protection from the law to self manage or even question the amount of the costs being charged. It’s just another council tax that could literally be an infinite amount. It leads me to think what are these cunts doing all day? Anderson going to court spending public money to get Redrow planning permission when basically everyone was against it was probably the most outrageous thing to happen in the city in recent times.
