    Simply because we'll see a different Liverpool. I hope Jones, Kelly, Babel, Pacheco, Meireles, Cole, Wilson all play and im hoping to see a bit of Shelvey and/or Spearing. Tonights match, and the Europa League in general gives fringe players and youngsters the chance to excel and give Hodgson something to think about. I really hope the attacking players do well to show we have players who can score and create, and that we dont have to play with this 2 sitting midfielders crap all the time. Hodgson should be looking at the competition and thinking 'Lets attack'

    Im just shocked that some Liverpool fans still rate him OR at least give him the benefit of the doubt. The boy is atrocious. Hes like a crab, always going sideways. He is woeful in the tackle, hasnt a forward thinking brain and his passing is dire. He just isnt a Premiership footballer, full stop. Hopefully in January he will be sold off to Italy or Spain. It would do him and Liverpool good

    simply must be played on the right wing. Its actually beginning to annoy me now that a manager cannot see him in this role! Going forward he is immense. He is quick, tricky and direct, and his crossing is better than Kuyt's or Maxi's. Its an absolute no-brainer. We need someone to go by fullbacks, Kuyt and Rodriguez simply do not. If we played Johnson on the right wing, with Martin Kelly OR Carra (the odd game) at right back, it would offer a more balanced, more attacking and yet more solid right side of the pitch. Surely it needs to be tried at least

    Anyone who thinks Kuyt will be a huge loss is deluded! He doesnt bring anything special to the team. So friggin what if he works hard. I appreciate that, but Jay Spearing would work even harder. Working hard isnt something special, all players should work hard. Kuyt doesnt have anything special about him

    10million for Kuyt!? Yes feckin please. Thats huge money for a player who has no pace, approaching the tail end of his career, cant control a football and has poor delivery. Bite the hand!

    Not even close. Didi was by miles a better player than Mascherano. He oozed coolness, class, intelligence. Immense at breaking up play and his passing was top class. Mascherano is more of a bulldog. Aggressive, mouthy. Not saying he isnt a good player, he does his job well, just isnt in the same league Didi was

    Its in The Mirror too. Wouldnt be surprised if this happens to be honest. City have just forked out a fortune on Kolarov so im sure he'll be first choice. Bridge is an experienced Premiership player which is ideal for us. If City were looking around £5m for him, surely we'd have to sign to him!

    Great read! I know all players come out with 'proud' stuff but he does come across as being genuinely honoured and excited to be playing for Liverpool. 'As soon as i knew Liverpool were interested it was a no brainer. The biggest club in the country' Haha get it up ya Chelsea!!

    Good news. I honestly think Degen is a decent player though. Not the standard we want (which is why this is good news), but should have no problem finding a club. I thought he did OK when he made the odd appearance. Fearless going forward and showed some good touches. Just wasnt good enough to play for Liverpool

    I would be beaming if Lucas was sold! Naw, i get your point though. The signing of Cole, along with our new experienced English manager has really lifted the mood. Without sounding xenophobic because im honestly not, the more English influence there is at the club, the better. Back to the roots with personnel who know what it means to be at Liverpool

    I agree he should be sold. He' spent the past 2 seasons wanting to leave, so just let him go and take the 20+m. Use 9m of that on Scott Parker and thats a great deal. Use the rest on left backs. Parker would be ideal. He gives his all, and has nearly knocked himself out on occasions due to his bravery and no nonsense approach. He isnt reckeless though and thats the key to him being a good signing

    Bring back Aurelio!? Are you lot on drugs? He was never fit and when he was he only played well in a handful of games. No doubt he has a talented left peg on him but he didnt prove himself to be good value first time round, why go for him again? Ludicrous!
