    Got paid on Villa, third of the odds, I think. If only the little fucker could take penalties! I knew that miss against Honduras would bit me on the arse. Hamburgers!

    Now, i'm normally happy to slag Webb off, but the players made that a near impossible game for him to ref today. Holland being ridiculously dirty and some of the Spanish players going down easier than a two bit hooker. He could have refereed that game to the letter of the law and the match would have finished with 3 or 4 players sent off and he would have got criticised for ruining the final by being over zealous with his cards. Apart from the De Jong assault on Alonso and the Sneijder free kick when he gave a goal kick for an obvious corner, I can't really see what else he can be overly criticised about. Some possible second bookings that he missed, but see above. I even think he made the right call on the Robben one when Robben played on was right for me. It would've been overly petty to send a player off in a World Cup final for that.

    I wanted to do Van Bommel anytime card, but the cunting bookies have took any sort of value out of it. Best I can find is 5/6. Bastards. For some reason, just got a feeling that Xabi Alonso will score first. To that effect, my bets include: £15 Alonso first goal at 18's £4 Alonso to score in the first 10 minutes at 50's £3 Van Bommel first book at 6's £3 Villa to score in first 10 minutes at 16/1 £1 Capdevilla to score in first 10 minutes at 100/1 (silly bet, but only a quid) £1 Van Bronckurst first booking at 16's £3 scorecast of Villa and 2-1 spain at 25/1. Close to £500 return if Xabi scores first and in the first 10 mins. Vamos Espana!

    Or, Ergo Torres gets to savour the feeling of winning top level honours and wants to do so again and decides he wants to move to a club where he will have a realistic prospect of doing this in the near future. That seems the more likely to me, i'm afraid.

    My Algeria bet came in and from the above bets, I now have £150-ish riding on pretty much a Spain win tonight with Villa to outscore Sneijder to be top scorer. Fingers crossed..... Saying that, some of my other bets were shite! Italy outright winners?

    I'm into all the Mafioso style organised crime stuff, The Soprano's, Goodfellas, Godfather films. I also watched a documentary series on Discovery about the Mafia too. Watched this documentary and, in all honesty, it wasn't that great. A bit of a slow burner and mainly about dodgy property deals and how the Italian judiciary tried to get the mafia boss on any possible technicality. Not the most of exciting of documentaries but I'd watch if there isn't anything else on. One of the worst of the More 4 docs i've seen though....If you're on 4OD I would particularly recommend Burma VJ. Awesome stuff.

    It's been good since the group stages on. What more do some people want? Each of the quarter finals has been quality and dramatic in their own special way. Good tournament for me, so far.

    A slow burner granted, but it improved drastically. One of the better recent World Cups for me. Of the ones i've been old enough to remember, I'd say only Mexico 86 and Italia 90 have been better, maybe France 98.

    Now, I don't give tips and I disclaim all responsibility if people follow what I am saying and it doesn't come in, but this looks ridiculously good value..... BETFRED: Villa to outscore Santa Cruz in 90 minutes at 11/8. Villa is bang in form, scoring for fun at the minute. Villa starts. Santa Cruz. Yet to score this world cup and is on the bench. I'm already on, but may have a bit more cash on this.....

    Similar thoughts. Will be tight. Spain should just have enough to break the Paraguayans down though, 1-0 or 2-0 with the second late on, to Spain. My bet: Villa to outscore Roque Santa Cruz over 90 minutes. 11/8 with Betfred. Yes please!!!!

    I think you should change your user name to The Big Green Eyed Monster.... Not my cup of tea, but good on him. He is not the funniest of people, but presenting several television shows and writing a comedy series, whether you find it funny or not (which I personally don't) requires some degree of talent. His laugh is very annoying though....
