You've got to laugh. Just reading that the "age/facial recognition software" that the Daily Mail used to determine the age of these people was actually a phone app called How Old Do I Look? Brilliantly hilarious. The Google Play reviews have 12 year olds being aged at 24, an 80 odd year old man being aged at about 50 years younger and a user having their age guessed wrong by about 10 years, while at the same time having a button on their tshirt being declared as a 29 year old human by this app.

But, the democratically reached process for determining their age has been utilised. Why aren't people accepting the process and it's results?

I think the right and the Brexit lot should just shut up and accept these refugee minors coming here. The decision to test the age of minors by a Merton compliant age assessment was reached by the courts. The Dubs Amendment which obliged the UK to take in unaccompanied minor refugees was enacted into law as an amendment to the Children and Social Work Bill. It was debated in both the House of Parliament and Lords and was put on the statute book. Our actions in taking these minor refugees in and the process used to assess their age have all resulted from democracy in action. Why aren't the right and the Brexit lot beating their "respect democracy" drum over this one?

How many people were able to get into and be served alcohol in pubs and clubs when they were 16 and 17. I was. It therefore shows that determining a person's age by facial features and build alone is an entirely inaccurate approach. The age assessment criteria isn't guaranteed to provide the right result either, but I'd place faith in that over the scaremongering of the right aligned press who have just looked at a photo and nothing else. Plus, the articles I've read have mentioned that some of the resettled minors have provided documentary evidence. No doubt that'll be decried as being fake by the Mail etc.
