  1. Personally I feel that the only reason Torres isnt performing is coz of the previous managerial regimes. Now under Dalglish we'll prob be seein a different Torres, more commited and performing. Having said that tho, if he really wants to leave, then we should just let him. Footy wise, his value isnt that bad, and taking into account injuries, it wouldnt be bad market value. On a personal level, no player is bigger than the club, and the team is bigger than individuals.
  2. Benitez was a mess in his latter years. Hodgson is The Great Depression. Both are disappointments, just in varying degrees.
  3. How about Johann Cruyff eh? He's a good manager, would be able to motivate players, and he's available..So why not?
  4. The two games I watched this season (Chelsea and Bolton), Torres wasnt that bad..scored in both..Also it looks like he still has that touch with him.
  5. Well this the second Liverpool match I watched since the Chelsea match, and I thought we played decent. Kinda disappointed we won tho, coz if we lost, it would mean tomolo morning headlines would be Hodgson sacked.
  6. Does it come with a royal stamp? lol
  7. Sacking Benitez was right, it was 5 steps forward. The only reason it looks wrong is because hiring Hodgson was 10 steps back. So end result was -5 Sack hodgson, get a better manager(not Benitez), and itll look 10 steps forward.
  8. Personally I aint gonna blame Torres, he's the best striker Ive seen in a while. And the main reason he aint performin is coz the team is crap, and no creativity whatsoever. Unless a new manager comes in, and Torres still puts in bad performances, then Ill start blaming Torres.
  9. I think youved missed the sarcasm. Seeing as how he started the sentence with a why, and ended it with a !, it was probably a rhetorical statement, suggesting that he wasnt really asking a question. Add to that the follow up insult of proclaiming your stupidity, suggests he was using sarcasm.
  10. I think it was the high tempo pressing game that they copied from Barcelona that helped. We used it too I think in the 08-09 season, before Benitez destroyed us.
  11. well tbh everything after 2006 was a failure. And am being generous here by counting the FA cup as a success, even tho its just a minor trophy. 2007: no CL or league win. 2008: no CL or league win. 2009: still no CL or league win. 2010: no CL or league win + self destruct.
  12. Sigh....some ppl are satisfied so easily. Personally I started watching footy in 2004, the season when we signed alonso and garcia. After our new manager won the european cup, was expecting him to win trophies on a regular basis. Sadly, it was only a false dawn, and he turned out to be a bitter disappointment. Kinda like when a girl says: I thought he was the one, but he turned out to be a pig. Oh yeh and the football was crap too. Defensive and boring.
  13. Yeh but when your house is in a wreck, it eases the pain by blaming the person who destroyed it. It still hurts to watch the Champions League and not see Liverpool in it. Oh yeah and Im starting to think Benitez is responsible for Torres constant injury problems. I mean, look at Inter's players. Pre-Benitez, they were all fit. With Benitez arrived, there were an increase in injury problems. No coincidence that, along with the fact that the players have been complaining bout his fitness training.
  14. Thats like saying its all right for a girl to burn your house down just coz she gave you one amazing night 5 years ago.
  15. I hope they get Barca. It would be slaughter. Would be marvellous to watch.
  16. halftime now at Italy. Benitez 0-1 down. Typical. Gonna go out and will prob find Inter lost when back. Coz thats how Benitez destroys teams.
  17. Jeez whats to celebrate. Its only one win, not like we're gonna win any trophy, and we still have a crap squad and crap manager..
  18. Roy Hodgson or the Harry Potter franchise?
  19. sorry got my figures wrong: 0.45 points for CL and PL, 0.05 points for FA cup and league cup. That'll make 1 point for a clean sweep per year. Man Utd 2005-2010 under Ferguson PL 07,08,09 League Cup 06,09,10 CL 08 so thats 0.45X4 + 0.05X3 =1.95 1.95/6 years=0.33 Chelsea 2005-2007 and Inter 2009-2010 under Mourinho PL/Serie A 05,06...09,10 League Cup/Super Coppa Italia 05,07...10 FA Cup/ Coppa Italia 07...10 CL 10 so thats 0.45X5 + 0.05X5 =2.5 2.5/5 years=0.5 Liverpool 2005-2010 under Benitez CL 05 FA Cup 06 so thats 0.45X1 +0.05X1 = 0.5 0.5/6 years=0.08 so Ferguson: 33 percentage Mourinho: 50 percentage Benitez: 8 percentage pretty clear how crap Benitez is. As for club records 2005-2010 period Barcelona 2005-2010 La Liga 05,06,09,10 Copa Del Rey 09 Spanish Supercup 05,06,09,10 CL 06,09 thats 0.45X6 +0.05X5=2.95 2.95/6 years =0.49 so Barcelona:49 percentage Liverpool:8 percentage
