  1. Fitter and Turners trade I don't use anymore. My weird one would be that I am a certified pastor in something like 41 states of america and can perform marriages etc there. Never been to USA btw lol.
  2. Ali De Winter a former tasmanian bowler. Apparently well regarded as a bowling coach. I thought McDermott was doing an excellent job though, even I could see a big difference.
  3. Had a guy in the navy who's name was james bond, they fudged his paperwork around to have his service number end in 007. In those days you had to say them to get your pay. Did a course once with a guy called Mike Hunt and a girl called Adcock. Fair bit of laughter when the page "mike hunt adcock office" was done.
  4. Watching it now, loving it so far.
  5. FFS. You said I replied that the standard english response about convicts was no more witty and your blowing it all out of proportion. I have no idea what your problem is.
  6. Swings and roundabouts. I remember us getting pasted by the great W.I. sides and being beaten by English sides especially when World Series Cricket decimated us. The top sides will drop and others will take their place and if we are really lucky we will get some excellent close cricket matches in those transition phases.
  7. You missed the point though. It was about the wit of the quotes. As a "convict" who has been on a few different Liverpool sites I can tell you most english that I have come across use it as a term of bigotry and not banter. Part of the reason I paid to be here is that that kind of rubbish doesn't seem to exist here.
  8. I obviously misunderstood, it sounded like you were talking about the commentary and coverage of the matches not the drunks at the game. As I said earlier I am sure every team has its bad supporters. I was listening to an interview with an english journo during the last test about how the first lot of english supporters to follow the side around where footbal hooligans and thugs. As for the pre series press, it's always like that and the English press is the same. A lot of the pre press was actually running the Australian team down and not England. As for lack of bottle, it would have been a fair enough statement on previous evidence and even the english commentators working out here have been talking about how Andy Flower has put steel into the side. You used to get one englishman out and it was pretty much 3 wickets. Now you could say that about the current australian side and it has been said. On the cerebral level as you said might not be overly witty and imaginative but as you can see it rubs both ways. How long did it take for some pom to tweet about convicts etc? In general we aren't a vocal crowd like the english and that goes for all sports pretty much.
  9. Sorry Grats is used on a lot of forums I visit as a shortened form of congratulations. I'm sure all teams have some bad supporters. You just have to look at some of the things said on Liverpool forums to realise that isn't just an Australian trait. As I said all radio and tv I have listened to has spoken very highly of Strauss, the England team and the Barmy Army.
  10. Firstly grats guys your team played far better cricket and deserved the win. I thought Cook was a big difference between the 2 sides and hope he can continue this form for a decent amount of time, just not against us any more. Boggles me what on earth you are listening to because both the Radio and TV coverage I have been listening to has consistently said how England have been playing far more consistent and better Test cricket than Australia. If you are referring to newspapers, then no one takes them seriously because they have to say something. That being said also no one could say with a straight face that Australia played good cricket. The top order batsmen waved their bats at deliveries like they were trying to swat flies and the bowlers where all over the place and had no consistency. Most here were predicting a close series and if Australia had actually played some decent Test cricket it might have been closer. :wallbutt: Grats again looking forward to 2013 ;)
  11. The thing that really got me about Cook was that at the end of his second innings in Brisbane he looked like he had only been out there for a session.
