  1. Finally, this terrible appointment coming home to roost.
  2. Spot On©, as they (the 'tards) say. Spot On© - with Deschamps as assistant. While we're at it why not get Joachim Loew in for the reserves? Just to cover the bases it's worth mentioning that, compared to O'Neill, life under Hodgson would be a hoot.
  3. The glass is half full but I will unashamedly nurse it for a while.
  4. Ian Hislop Alan "I Know Where You're Coming From" Jackson Chris Morris
  5. Is there any truth in the talk that - for all Benitez's contract made him 'unsackable' - it was actually this Carra contract which proved otherwise?
  6. Wow... just... wow. Was damn near crying with laughter at Skrtl's Turtle but that last sentence killed me off. Top work, den.
  7. Don't take it to heart; negging is the opium of the OOT.
  8. Classy guy and one of the best coaches out there; shame he'll never win us the league, but it's for the best that we start a new era. I think over time all the nonsense will fade and he'll one day be remembered as a great LFC manager. After all, no amount of handrubbing, Carra-baiting and "They can't AFFORD to sack me"s could erase the fact he's a European Cup winning Liverpool manager.
  9. Hate to be pedantic (not really, I'm actually wanking as I type this) but these places are not even Liverpool. What about us West Derby cuntflans? What about the Walmongs? Fucking hell JohnnnyH, even the mungbean-chomping, sandal-wearing Mossley Hill set deserve a mention over our wheeliebin challenged cousins in Huyton and Kirkby!
  10. for highlighting the taboo subject of familial rape. Now, if I could just put that damn fire out before my house burns down...
  11. Eh? I just quoted the offending word as it was originally used: What, exactly, does my use of lower case word for a proper noun (which I was actually quoting) tell you about me? Go on, say racist...
  12. Brilliant, that. The only good thing to come out of Jeffries' piss-poor effort.
  13. So what you're saying here is describing Americans as 'American' is fine but calling an African 'african' is racist.
  14. Behave lad. Since when was describing someone as African offensive or racist? A cursory look around this forum reveals 'Yank' this and 'American' that thrown around pejoratively. Double standards much?
  15. No problem, I'll rephrase it. What was the last Liverpool game you went to? I'd like to cross-reference the answer with this statement: Thanks in advance.
  16. You're travelling all the way to London to stand outside a courthouse but are unable to get to a game at Anfield?
  17. Before the deification of Purslow hits its inevitable celestial heights, let's not forget how he - along with Benitez and one or two 'senior sources' - have dragged the club's name and reputation through the muck, with the aid of their pet journalists. For me, the most damning accusation you can throw at Purslow (or is it 'Christian' from hereon in?) is the inescapable fact If the three amigos hadn't pulled it off and G&H managed to beg, steal or borrow to re-finance, then it's hardly ridiculous to suggest we'd be battling relegation this season, since Roy coaching Rafa's Rejects will almost always suffer worse results than Rafa coaching Rafa's Rejects. Thanks for everything Christian, but you're not a football man and certainly not a Liverpool man.
  18. I didn't say it was shit, I said I thought it was very disappointing. Shane Meadows is an amazing film-maker and This Is England is a masterpiece I think but there is a huge drop in quality from the film to this. I like to think producer interference led to the more 'Skins'/'Shameless'/cheeseypianomontage excesses of the first couple of episodes. Also the "just improvise, yeah?" method which worked a treat in the film exposed some poor actors this time around imo. Even if there was a shit bandwagon I wouldn't be jumping on it because at least Meadows is telling stories and including messages about working class Britain which wouldn't be up for discussion otherwise. I'll re-phrase my criticism: very disappointing work from an extremely important storyteller.
  19. Very disappointing. Totally waters down the power of the film for me, and by going for 'easy' shock value with the rape scenes when the rest of it was like a bad episode of Shameless (x 4) makes the whole thing even worse. Stick to films Meadows. This Is England is a modern classic - hell it's a stone cold classic of any era - but this series was poor. Wish I could unwatch the damn thing (except the rapes).
