The fragrant Mrs J cooks the Sunday lunch, but I do the gravy. It's a man's job. She is responsible for the little things that make a house tick, like ironing, cooking, cleaning and shopping. I rugby tackle burglars, fix engines and make gravy. They're the man's responsibilities.

Regarding the refereeing, I commented in the MF earlier. In summary my feelings are that bad decision making is endemic in Premiership refereeing. Halsey is not the only bad ref. As an institution they are wholly inept. And the fault lies with the FA. I was watching from the Main Stand. Before the game, I said to my mate that we need to avoid forcing the referee to make a big decision. Because, if they have to make a big decision they will get it wrong. I wasn't aware who was ref at the time, I just knew that whoever it was would be incapable of applying the rules correctly. They are not frightened of getting it wrong though - because they know that the manager's will remain partisan. One will deride the decision and one will support it. So they will have at least one vocal supporter - whatever they do. Once this stops happening the problem will land at the FA's door - and the FA will be forced to act. Maybe then we will see officiating in parity with the standard of the players. Until then we can expect second rate refereeing at first rate football matches.

The weird thing is they have decent fans who took a stronger attitude to it than the trust (here is a link to a fan of theirs called Francis giving his opinion). They could just have said it was a minority of idiots and then condemned it. Small time reaction. A club like Utd should know better

Back to the shootings...why was the girl beaten? Why beat someone that you're gonna shoot anyway? Unless her injuries were caused afterwards maybe by the getaway car or something?

Sometimes these pieces of bad luck or bad planning can actually turn out to be a bit of serendipity. Someone unexpected may step up to the goalscoring mark (Suarez, Morgan, the German lad, A.N. Other) or maybe we will accrue money until Jan from the salary savings, and end up with a better signing in Jan. It is a bit of a disappointing end to the window - but let's get behind the team we have and back our new manager.
