    We bring him back and lo and behold Milan 'don't rule out the possibility of signing Aquilani'. I wouldn't mind him back as I think he's a better option than most of what we have - particularly the way Rodgers would have us play - but sadly I think this is just a case of us trying to force Milan's hand.

    That's the problem with the current way the club seems happy to allow everything to play out through the media rather than having a plan and sorting everything discreetly behind closed doors. It gives everyone the chance to form opinions. Ill informed or not.

    Always thought Gerrard came across well in interviews myself, knows pretty much every position and is a respected player throughout Europe, so would be able to attract players. Carragher always seemed a bit of a bully to me.

    Those who remember Kenny first time around will know that there were a few games like this. A bit shit. It wasn't all '88, especially towards the end. Not just playing badly, but no plan b seemingly.

    Shouldn't really be surprised by this. What Kenny is saying is basically, 'you're the second string.' Now if they genuinely thought they were playing for a place at the weekend then fair enough, but are they? Really? If Maxi scores a couple tonight will he be guaranteed a place? No. He knows that and the rest do too. If Kenny chose teams on form, then Henderson would've played half a dozen games this year, if that. So what we get is a half arsed performance from most of them cos they know they'll either play regardless (Henderson) or be dropped regardless (Maxi, Carroll etc). Shit, it took me so long to type that on my phone, we could've scored twice by now. Doubt it though.
