  1. It's moronic, they've got the worst of both worlds, lockdown was too late, and easing far too early.
  2. Must be a pisser spending £87 million on a house, then having to cough up another £65 million on snagging.
  3. No new deaths in Scotland for the second day running. There'll be the weekend lag, but some rare good news for once.
  4. Serco PD. Minimum wage kids given ten minutes of training and a badge, then shoved on the streets.
  5. Yeah, my Mum and aunt and uncle live near Mold and we grew up in Prestatyn. It's a big area.
  6. And it was a Sunday as well, we'll get the usual bump today and tomorrow no doubt. Scotland seems to be doing pretty well, almost 50% reductions in deaths and infections for a few weeks, and about 25% last week. Wales looks to have a bit of a hotspot around the Betsi Cadwalladr area, but there's big reductions in infections over the last fortnight, so hopefully that'll continue.
  7. Fucking moron. Lucky he didn't end up getting lynched.
  8. New Zealand appear to have eliminated the virus and are to remove all restriction except border controls. If only we had a competent government here, we could be doing the same but no, we're still getting more infections each day than NZ have had in total. A couple of public health experts make some recommendations to keep the virus eliminated here- https://www.theguardian.com/world/commentisfree/2020/jun/08/five-ways-new-zealand-can-keep-covid-19-cases-at-zero
  9. The most ridiculous thing about all this, is that you have feminists fighting with trans-people. The 'right' must be laughing their asses off.
  10. Wasn't sure where to post this, so here'll do- https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/jun/06/everyone-is-in-that-fine-line-between-death-and-life-inside-everests-deadliest-queue A thoroughly depressing article which seems to sum current humanity up perfectly. Purja's original photo-
  11. They already have in one respect- the figure for number of people tested has been 'unavailable' for about two weeks now.
  12. If you're interested, the data's been compiled and charted here and also broken down by country- https://coronavstats.co.uk. The main chart also has a rolling 7 day average for infection and deaths. The DHSC Tweet the new figures each at https://twitter.com/DHSCgovuk. The time's variable but it's usually between 2 and 6 pm daily.
  13. It's quite a bit higher than the ONS figures earlier in the week, yes. They estimated (I think) between 22-56K new infections per week and settled on an average of 39K, the figure above would be over 65K. New confirmed (by testing) infections are running at about 11-12K a week according to the daily figures the DHSC release.
  14. I've been wondering for a while if one of the reasons for the reluctance to make them mandatory is 'cos it'll fuck up their facial recognition software.
  15. Is there no decency left in this world? Mind you, swans are cunts, to be fair.
  16. If anyone has relatives in Sarah's care home, I'd suggest you move them out quickly.
  17. Gang of Four way ahead of the curve as usual-
  18. Every gig should start with this. And a lot of foreplay too.
  19. They haven't given figures for the number of people being being tested for almost two weeks, just the number of tests 'carried out', which may or may not include antibody tests and kits just posted out but not returned and analysed. It's a complete mess.
  20. Quite- it looks like a complete sack of shit- https://www.theguardian.com/society/2020/jun/04/nhs-track-and-trace-system-not-expected-to-be-operating-fully-until-september-coronavirus
  21. Should have come to Rhyl, I distinctly remember that album in both the record shop and Smiths. I got Scary Monsters instead as I already had the live Ziggy album from '73.
  22. The point is more whether the track and trace system will be able to work. No idea what percentage of those cases will be symptomatic, but just on the daily data, we're looking at 7-8K per week new infection. Could track and trace cope with that number and get their contacts isolated?
