Maybe its not coming from our end but the list of players we are missing out on over the last couple of years is making us look small time. Even for us going for another potential "big name" signing in the summer they'd probably look at us and question why players are turning us down. Its very disheartening more than anything else. I can remember when we were linked with Costa and Mkhitaryan and getting excited about signing them. Now when the Depay links came out my first reaction is this won't happen for one reason or another and we'll lose out so I don't even try and get my hopes up.

Ye agree with this. FSG seem to want to negotiate and drag out the deal to get the player signed for the best value in wages. The problem with that idea is when another club comes in and offers more money we get left looking like gobshites. Even Willian had turned us down to go to fucking spurs ahead of us before going to Chelsea. He's better than Allen and Lucas. I like Allen but he picks up a lot of injuries and takes a while to get his form going. He's hardly a shite player being a regular for City for the last couple of seasons for a free its not bad business.

There's been a lot of moaning about how weak our bench is recently with a shocking lack of options. Milner coming in as has already been said can come into our first 11 in a couple of positions. It also allows us to have decent depth in midfield for next season. We'd have next season if we get him in. Henderson, Allen, Milner, Lucas and Can all as options. Its not massively exciting but its a very solid hardworking midfield if we can have Sturridge fit for at least 20 league matches and add another really good player that can get 15-20 goals we'd get top 4 next season. It looks like we'll miss out on top 4 this year by a couple of points if you take it that our top scorers being on 7-8 goals we just need to address getting goals in this side for next season.
