  1. There isn’t a stadium in the world that could supply enough tickets to satisfy our demand, but there isn’t any excuse to try and “ bunk in” to a ground anywhere. The possible danger to other fans of overcrowding, of police overreacting and battering innocent fans indiscriminately, the slur on the clubs name and the ramifications from UEFA for the club, should stop anyone purporting to be a Red from doing something that stupid. Every club has its share of cunts though and we’re no different I suppose. Athens brought that home to me sadly.
  2. Nobody should be so afraid, or be made to be afraid, of doing something as relatively innocuous as putting up a flag, scarf or banner of their team, no matter where they live and particularly when said team has just won one of the four major trophies that a team can win in this country. As per, I expect the great majority of Everton fans who would have walked past did so without reacting excessively, and it would have been the minority of the “better blue me la’s” who caused the issues for the homeowners, by becoming aggressive and forcing them to remove the items. I would like to have thought that, seeing the gobshites reacting like they did, there might have been a sufficient number of the majority tell them to fucking grow up and behave, but obviously that didn’t happen. Not much class a or dignity being shown by all.
  3. After the fireworks outside the hotel (wrongly as it turned out) and the abuse of the families of Toney and Henry today by our blue brethren, I wouldn’t blame Brentford for taking their foot off the gas against Leeds. Just a little bit of course.
  4. Any of you going today, travel safe and enjoy the day. Wish I was there. Allez,Allez!!!
  5. If we’re going to sign a cunt, it might as well be Son, I can’t help but think he’d do very well for us and Klopp always seems to give him an extra friendly bear hug when we play them.
  6. Spurs are learning under Conte, they’re not the pushovers that United turned a 0-3 to a 5-3 anymore, you saw the the full shithouse Spurs against us last Saturday. City aren’t averse to tactical fouling and simulation and now Spurs are copying them. We aren’t averse to a bit, but these must have full training sessions.
  7. They’d be relying on the club giving them correct details to allow any “weighting” to be implemented, that’s where the problem would lie. This is a club who’s season ticket waiting list was in a big fuck off book with all the entries written in by hand. It only took them 20 years to get that anything like sorted.
  8. This is LFC we’re talking about, nothing is ever easily implemented!
  9. That’s very good, and would be a step forward if it were to happen, but it misses one point that’s important. It means the officials and, therefore, the Premier League, would be accountable. They don’t want to be that, they just want to continue going “La, La, La, La” until anything controversial goes away. It’s similar to the criticism UEFA get over the organisation of Champions League Finals. They just ignore the noise, eat their prawn sandwiches, slap themselves on the back, and expect two different teams to get there next season. Problem solved.
  10. 0 for last 5 ballots. Definitely not the luck of the draw.
  11. Everyone needs to feel relevant in some way. Like most on here, I know supporters of other clubs who have a traditional rivalry with us, one that they don’t have with city. My feeling is that the last thing they want is us going on the kind of trophy gathering run that we enjoyed in the 70’s/80’s and the same that United had after us. They feel that city are stopping that from happening, but not that city will carry it on to the same lengths. They are the new Chelsea, they’ll dominate for a few years then fall away, maybe Newcastle will then take on the mantle of “Scouse stoppers”, but they fail to realise this has been going on now for getting on for a decade. It’s currently a two horse race, and the last thing they would do is put their money on us, because to do that is to back a team that could be them, and it’d show them up as failures for not being able to do what we are doing. It’s much easier to back city as the kind of backing they have is unreachable, some kind of other level that means they can still feel comfortable supporting their teams because at the end of the season they’ve won the same as us in terms of the league. Second is nowhere. Like them.
  12. Wouldn’t surprise me if Tuchel went 3-5-2 with the wide men dropping when we have the ball. Overload and run through our midfield. If we let them of course. Which we won’t.
  13. According to the city statement, Haaland (£65M) has cost less than Maguire(£80M). They obviously didn’t include some of the trivial costs like his wages. Well I hope he works out just like Maguire has, and falls on his arse.
  14. Keita is playing as well currently as he has at any time with us. Given the amount he cost and the initial optimism that came with him, he’s still below expectations though, plus he has had more injuries than most and it looked like he was feeling his groin at the end of last nights game, so may be out again? Overall, he’s not shown enough to warrant being a starter when everyone is fit and has been the most disappointing signing of Klopp’s tenure, all things considered. Klopp has stuck with him though, and must feel there’s more there, so he’d better start showing it and soon. I must say, I don’t think he’s a Liverpool player, even with his recent improvement, I hope I’m wrong.
  15. I think Hendo provides the “gee up” to players that a Captain gives, regardless of his own form. A bit like Keane did at United.
  16. City will mallet these. They’re a poor team really. We definitely aren’t quite clicking at the moment and are struggling to beat teams, like Villa, who we’d usually have few problems with. That is likely to be due to the mental side as much as the physical side of things, and it isn’t obvious errors (although Keita’s miss was so bad it was untrue) but little things, like simple passes going astray, or trying to beat a player (and failing) in an area which means we’re immediately under pressure, or making a lazy attempt at a pass to someone in a good position to take a chance. It all accumulates and possibly reinforces the feeling that games are tougher than they could be, and I noticed the look on the faces of some of our players, Virgil and Hendo to name two, and how concerned and weary they looked. Not that they should be grinning from ear to ear, (ok, maybe when we score), but it looks like there’s little enjoyment out there currently and that’s sad. These boys should be able to enjoy what they are doing, but the pressure on them to succeed is immense, and they look relieved at the end of these games rather than happy. All we can do is give them as much support as we can and accept their mistakes, I’m sure they never mean to make them and nobody is perfect. I hope city demonstrate that before the season’s end.
  17. Just looking at that chance Ings put over the bar, what the fuck was Alisson doing? He came out, stopped, then just put his hands up, nowhere near the ball. Please don’t start the Karius shit now fella.
  18. Read that last week, the article showed a tweet from Harland saying how heartbroken he was that he’d passed and had an associated article written a few years ago where Raiola expounded his talents at fighting for the rights of the poor footballers, he claimed all his clients loved him and none would say a word against him. Well, why would they?
  19. Winning is a good habit to have. Just get back to having it Reds.
  20. Plenty of good points made there Dave, I do think the assessment of Mo is a bit kind though. He’s been off form for a while now and hasn’t done much to endear by sometimes being greedy. Call it trying to play himself back into form if you like, but there’s been a few occasions, including Spurs on Saturday, where there were players better placed who deserved the pass from him that was on. Insane that he might be getting criticised I know, given his numbers, but there it is. Also the points made regarding goal difference and us taking it easy in some games, not just the Man U 5-0, when we could have run up a bigger score and made goal difference unimportant, are really on the money. It’ll be gut wrenching if city win this having scored a couple more than us against dross. They are unlikely to drop points though, and I just think that any hopes of Villa, Wolves or West Ham taking points off them are fanciful, but we can all hope they do. We have to be perfect from tomorrow night at Villa until the final whistle at the Stade de France and that might be too much of an ask.
  21. Foden looks as though he’s straight out of a Shameless episode, a mountain bike and black hoodie wouldn’t go amiss. Rat. As for their likely title win, it’ll be remarkable for about five minutes if we win the two cups, especially big ears, as the parade will likely be bigger than in 2019, and will have three trophies on the front of the bus this time. If city fuck up it won’t matter about the two cups, we’ll have the parade and celebration we were denied in 2020. There’ll be absolute scenes if we get the four.
  22. Let’s face it, we’re just a Cup team. (Dons tin hat, grabs coat, runs!)
  23. Since Salah returned from AFCON he’s been bullied by average full backs and teams who have double marked him, Son was doing a lot of that tonight for instance with Davies, plus they know that even if they get tight and push and shove him, it’s unlikely that referees will punish them, as he’s been a marked man since going over too easy and winning a penalty earlier in the season (Watford?) and being called out about it by MOTD. But even so, he makes awful decisions when there are often better placed players, and while it’s good in some ways for forwards to be greedy, there has to be some level of consideration for the team rather than the individual. His contract situation hasn’t helped either and could have some effect on his overall play if he believes he’s not being paid what he thinks he’s worth. All in all he’s been generally average recently and as no player should be undroppable, maybe a rest would do him good. However, it would mean altering the style of play as we don’t really have a player who could drop in there without some level of experimentation, not what you want at this point in the season. He wasn’t the sole reason why we dropped points though, there were a few who weren’t “at it” and with a well drilled Spurs playing well, we were always going to have a problem if they scored, which they did of course. We looked as though there wasn’t the same snap that we usually show, our build up play was ponderous and repetitive at times, perhaps this was just a game too far for a squad that have been brilliant for so long. So it’s not over, but I don’t see city letting this slip now, they may have been deflated after Real dumped them out the other night, but this result has done more for their morale than anything Guardiola might have been able to say to them.
