  1. What’s that about fools and their money being easily parted……..
  2. Thanks for the info, we’re staying in a Disney resort and should be able to take advantage of early admissions etc. but advice from someone who’s already been is really appreciated.
  3. Taking my kids and grandkids over next year. Grandson is Star Wars mad. Any tips would be greatly appreciated as we’ll be definitely going to Hollywood Studios.
  4. Fans always take a scattergun approach when things aren’t going well. I’m surprised the tea lady hasn’t been blamed for something yet, and as for the fucker who supplies the PED’s, where’s he been lately???
  5. I’ve mentioned this before, but after the Heysel game, there were a number of “fans” of other clubs brought together in a TV studio debate, I remember one West Ham fan saying he felt something like Heysel was always going to happen, and it was just unlucky for Liverpool it was them it happened to. Now I’m not saying this exonerates us in any way, it doesn’t, but had Heysel not happened and Everton had fulfilled their “God given right to March into the Final” the year after, how do they know it wouldn’t have happened to them? When I’ve put this argument forward to some of them, the answer has always been that they weren’t like us, and they were always better behaved. Riiiight.
  6. The seats in the lower SKD have to be the most uncomfortable seats in the ground by a distance, and the oldest. Hope it doesn’t sound churlish, but they could do with reconfiguring, and the walkways are not easily navigated if, like me and loads of others who’ve been there for years, you’re finding mobility a bit of a problem. There aren’t any handrails to assist those with such problems and I’ve seen a few arl arses fall and not as a result of a few too many sherbets either! I wasn’t in the ground for the St Etienne game, but was for the Chelsea and Barcelona games, and, for me, the Chelsea game was the most raucous I’ve heard at any ground, ever. We’re still the crowd to beat when it comes to atmosphere for a big game, certainly in the UK.
  7. He’ll have to slice someone’s forehead open before he even gets booked. Then again the defender could get a yellow for dangerous use of his head.
  8. Showed why some don’t like him and why some do tonight. Still think it’s too early to be making a definitive judgement on him. He seemed to be most effective away from home and breaking against teams pushed up, certainly against us he was, but will we utilise someone like that? Can only think we’ve bought him for specific skills, and we don’t often make mistakes in the market. Keita aside.
  9. It will likely be honoured by the vast majority. Unfortunately there might also be a minority who may try and disrupt it for a variety of reasons. The booing of the national anthem was/is done more as a protest against the establishment I think, not necessarily as a protest against the monarch. You just know there will be all kinds just waiting, and even hoping, for some disruption.
  10. Baffling isn’t a word we’ve been used to when describing how our team is playing. But given there’s been so much wrong with pretty much every aspect of our play so far this season, it’s an apt word to use currently. Even the manager appeared to be so in his after match interview where he mentioned we needed to change pretty much everything around. I’ve missed the stuff about the medical team, or doctor leaving, so any inclusion on that being a contribution towards our current malaise would be speculation on my behalf, however I also could see that being a way of explanation for the apparent sluggishness of many of the boys if the conspiracy theorists and Evertonian taxi drivers are proved to be correct and something chemical, or lack of it, is to blame! Consolidation should be our watchword right now, we start off games equal with our opponents and we shouldn’t be gifting goals as we have been in the last dozen games. Be more pragmatic, stay solid and, yes, even boring until we get the best players fit or back towards some kind of form and then take it from there. With Haaland on fire and City looking like they could win the league by 20 points this season, we should perhaps lower our expectations considerably for this season and accept qualifying again for the Champions League might be an acceptable target, with city being stopped from winning the champions league by someone else as, currently, we couldn’t even expect to get out of the qualifying group, much less beat them in a knockout stage and win it ourselves. We’ll have to put on the tin hats and accept the piss taking, for now. But we will go again, of that I have no doubt.
  11. In the great scheme of things, I suppose losing a group game when you have 5 more to get it right isn’t so bad, and it’s not the first time we’ve been outplayed by Napoli. It’s baffling how ordinary we’ve been, so I hope Klopp does have some answers to our problems and all we can do is support him, and them, whenever they’re on the pitch
  12. This performance hasn’t been a surprise though. The Bournemouth game might have had some fooled, but the United game should have banished any thoughts that we had returned to form. Surely if Klopp had a good idea on the solutions he’d have had tonight better sorted than it turned out? I can never understand that if a player is on the bench, he can’t be starting if necessary. To be on the bench you have to be fit enough to play some part in the game, whether that’s the last 20 minutes or the first 20 minutes. So play your strongest line up from the start, Napoli played Osimhen from the start, even though he was a risk, and he ran us ragged and enabled them to go a couple of goals up before he went off.
  13. Elliot is a real dilemma for me. The kid is obviously talented, he gives no less than 100% whenever he’s on the pitch. If we were dominating games, we could afford to have him in learning the ropes, but we’re not. A couple of times he played the ball too far ahead of himself and turned the play over, he isn’t particularly quick, to me, he’s not quite ready to be in every week and I hope having the team play poorly around him as well doesn’t damage his confidence. Conversely, would taking him out affect his confidence? He takes no blame for tonight’s shitshow, but I don’t know if he should be starting while we’re this poor.
  14. Currently it’s pick Alisson, Diaz and draw the other nine out of the hat. The starting line up, given we had Matip, Tsimikas, Alcantara, Nunez and Jota on the bench, was a terrible selection and it appears we hadn’t done any homework on how Napoli might play, but they certainly had done theirs from how they picked us off going forwards. Even though we were being exposed, there was no attempt to change how we were playing. We are predictable and yet with some of the changes made in the second half we improved slightly, although how much that was down to Napoli sitting back I’m not sure. All in all, a shitshow, and sadly, not a defeat that was a surprise.
  15. Every team has dickheads following them, every team, but there’s only one set of fans who mostly set themselves up as “dickheadless” and who are the quickest to condemn, and we don’t have to guess too hard who that is.
  16. Have they managed to use our signing a player from Juventus on loan as a means to bring up the 39 yet? I’ll be staggered if the mental gymnastics don’t somehow end up with Heysel.
  17. If we sign Melo, does it mean we win the transfer window cup this season?
  18. Henderson is suffering from getting older in a team where, had the right recruitment been made, he wouldn’t be so exposed or relied upon. He’s not the only one. I think he’s been a brilliant asset since he came here, one of the best captains I’ve seen, and if he hasn’t been blessed with the technical skills of some previous midfielders we’ve had, he’s certainly been one of the hardest workers. In the top 100 players? I think so.
