  1. Jake Arsehole on BT talking City up, “On the brink of something big”, yes, they should win the FA cup, but Arsenal aren’t rolling over just yet, and Real Madrid own the CL. Be happy to see them win the PL as nobody will give a fuck, but fuck them winning Big Ears, that’s for proper football teams.
  2. Of course their fans will give a fuck, the reason they haven’t so far is because they’ve never won it. They’ll be even more insufferable if they did win it. It comforts me that City, and particularly Guardiola, really want Big Ears for validation so the longer they go without it the better.
  3. If Bayern had a Benzema, they’d be much more of a threat, Real do have a Benzema, and a Vinicius Jr, and City still have to remember they’ve pissed UEFA off over the FFP thing, and Teal are the UEFA darlings, so I wouldn’t expect them getting anything from whoever referees the game, not that that sort of thing goes on mind you.
  4. Bayern haven’t got a clue here. And there it is.
  5. Only a matter of time before City get the one they need to close the game out. Bayern have huffed and puffed but couldn’t finish a packet of crisps.
  6. The last hour certainly masked the first 30 minutes. Initially we weren’t much different to the ponderous, lackadaisical team we’ve seen for too much of the season, but, goals change games don’t they? Had that first goal been against us, I’d have been furious. Like most others, I was waiting for VAR to rule it out and wouldn’t have disagreed. Leeds being beyond shite helped us to an easy win, and it was gratifying to see the players with smiles on their faces, and for Jota to at least resemble the Jota we thought we had. Agree totally that this performance needs to be more the norm from now on.
  7. Suarez is/was a streetfighter. Here, Ajax, Barca, Atletico, wherever, that’s how he played the game, we probably had him at his peak though, and fucking great it was when he wasn’t biting some cunt or riling Evra and getting an 8 game ban.
  8. “LFC is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get…” Season encapsulated in one game.
  9. The twat on Sky is a sarcastic, biased prick, seems like necessary qualifications to become a Sky commentator.
  10. How is Gabriel not even booked there for that pen??
  11. Lots of brilliant posts on this thread, nothing but support for the club (not necessarily the hierarchy) regardless of which side of the arguments you’re on. One thing that’s consistent is talk of a budget for players to be bought with, figures typically of £100-150m being quoted. Are we limited to this level of spending by FFP? Or would it be possible for the manager to be given more if the higher figure could be justified?
  12. Based in Singapore. At least he’s not an oil state, maybe he could get LFC supporters free drinks at Raffles Bar.
  13. Switched back on to see the ball rebound off slabhead and into the goal for 2-2. Really don’t want them or City winning in Europe. Well anywhere if truth be told. Imagine all the European Capital of Football shite we’d be getting. No thanks. The Martinez injury was surprising, there was nobody near him, looked like he’s done some tendon or other in his foot, if it was the Achilles then he’d have really gone over, but he did look like he was in a lot of pain when he came off.
  14. Lovely sight of Fernandez being subbed, walking off with a face like a smacked arse, not acknowledging anyone, safe in the knowledge that the unjustified booking he got has ruled him out of the second leg. Then there’s that spotty faced extra from Trainspotting, Antony, who is taking over Fernandez’s mantle of the most detestable cunt in the league. Stopped watching it now, nothing remotely interesting happening.
  15. “ Hello, Howard Webb here, listen, we’re not going to charge Constantine with anything, he’ll say sorry to Robertson and that will be that, ok? If you want to contest this then fine, but don’t expect to get a decision between now and the end of the season. Or ever. Cheers.”
  16. I’m no finance bunny, I had to look up what amortisation was on Google, but there appears to be a consistent thread running from comments being made by those who certainly know more than I do. We turnover more money than 90% of clubs I’d guess, yet we consistently get outspent on the playing side by “smaller” clubs, some of who have maybe as little as 50% of our turnover. If I’m right on those assumptions, and I’ll be corrected no doubt if I’m not, then I fail to comprehend how a Manager like Klopp wouldn’t see it also. Now maybe he’s not happy with the situation, but believes it’s not his place to react by calling out the owners in public regarding the importance of turning over staff (players) to maintain a challenge for all the things that make the money in the game, maybe he’s in total agreement with their strategy, I don’t know, but aren’t we supposed to have fan representation on the board these days? Someone who can question the figures and apparent lack of spend in players? Why aren’t we, and the press, hearing from them, if they exist? It’s too late by far to save this season, and I’m beginning to believe that FSG either have to fund the squad big time, or sell the club on, because their biggest interest, the value of the club, will start falling if they don’t. Surely then, they have to have already made provision for that to happen either way, and the Bellingham saga has emphasised to me they might be lining up a sale, because any major investment in the playing squad should have included the one player Klopp really liked plus several others, but not limited to £150m plus sales.
  17. Bring him back. Then have him thump anyone who isn’t giving 100% like he used to do.
  18. It’s been partly down to him over thinking and fucking about with his selections and tactics. Hope it continues for a long time yet.
  19. Nice to have a bit of “feel good” after a game. Arsenal, and Xhaka particularly, made the mistake of taking the piss and paid for their smugness as all it achieved was to wind up the crowd and our players. It was pleasing that their fans were absolutely silent during the pre-match tribute to the 97, and also that Arteta wore a 97 badge, so fair fucks for that, but the feigning injuries and general time wasting left a bad taste and ultimately, good team that they are, we deserved parity and probably the win as all it did was give us supporters a much needed kick up the arse and the players the effect of galvanising them into action and to show a bit of pride. I wouldn’t have bet on that when Jesus headed in their second as up to then they’d shown exactly why they are top. So, much to like about the reaction from the players, better performances by most of them, with Konate the standout for me, if only for the tackle that wiped out Xhaka. It was noticeable Mo just walked straight off at the final whistle, probably frustrated with his play and the way he was being manhandled (again) without getting free kicks, plus his penalty was shite. Gakpo did well all game and he’s turning out to be a solid addition without being flash, Hendo and Trent both improved on recent showings, but so did most of them once Arsenal had riled them enough. Shouldn’t take that to gee us up though, but, if that is the response we see for the rest of the season then it’ll do me, I’d sooner go down fighting like that than meekly surrendering as we have seen too often this season. As for the Robbo incident, the assistant was wrong reacting as he did, and perhaps Robbo should’ve kept his hands away, but it really goes to show just what the game is coming to when that incident can cause such outrage. It’s not as if anyone got hurt.
  20. Odds on that if the assistant gets a ban, we won’t get any tight decisions for the rest of the season? Robbo likely to get a ban too following Mitrovic’s case, they won’t care if it was a slight touch by Robbo, if he’s raised a hand that’ll be enough for them to punish him.
  21. I suppose if the PL do take points off them it would be another Everton First.
