  1. in our current system, gakpo as a false 9 makes sense, gakpo as a left winger makes no fucking sense at all. gakpo is good ball to feet. has decent composure and a brilliant finisher. however, hes not overly dynamic, low energy off the ball and wont be running in behind. I want to hear the self aggrandizing lijnders tell us why he thought he was the "missing piece", seeing as we have about 6 missing pieces in our midfield personnel
  2. in real terms we fucking lost that game, their goal was never offside and ours was in a world without a stupid fucking rule
  3. I really don’t understand what the fuck our plan is with this team. Why have we signed gakpo. He is the complete opposite of fucking intensity, and yet the cunt that said he was the “missing piece” wrote an entire about the topic.
  4. Get the fuck in Darwin. Only player in this team that remotely interests me at the moment, bored of the rest of them
  5. The Gakpo signing is still bemusing as fuck to me
  6. he’s been worse than that spelling which says it all
  7. this club is a circus at the moment, fucking useless to a man and that includes the manager
  8. Just want to say thanks for churning these pods out. I don't agree with everything that is said but god am I sick of having to listen to The Anfield Wrap alone. I know the pods have stopped and started in the past, hopefully we can churn them out somewhat consistently because I think a less commercially-minded pod for LFC would be welcomed by all. TAW, Redmen TV, everything feels like its part of some grand business venture as opposed to being a raw and down-the-middle assessment of things. Only suggestion is to have some contrasting views for some hearty discussion and even more non-match reaction pods.
  9. So what exactly has changed since the summer and now? Other than him trotting out some frankly shite performances at Wolves? If you are spending 36m or 44m on a player it is done on thorough research over years of evidence. What the fuck is 6 months at Wolves meant to tell you.
  10. So it's been heavily reported that we are buying Nunes from Wolves for 44m + add ons. We apparently arranged a pre-agreement with Wolves when they bought him last summer for 36m. We are now going to exercise that agreement and he will be joining us in summer 2022. I'm not sure what kind of fucking retarded logic our club is employing nowadays but if the above is true (its being reported by very reputable journos), then god help us. We actively let him go to Wolves for 8m cheaper in order to give him a year to "acclimatize", when we were fucking desperate for a midfielder? To me it stinks of one thing. We have been given indication that Bellingham will be going to Madrid. Nunes is VERY similar, occupies the RCM role and is much fucking cheaper. Nunes was our Bellingham insurance. That 44m is part of the 80-100m we had saved for Bellingham. Joke of a fucking club.
  11. we should start by having more than 1 useful midfielder on the books
  12. klopp should be coming out and apologizing for that absolute cuntfest of a performance and the sanctimonious bollocks he came out with before the match. go sign some fucking players, nobody gives a fuck who you "trust" because we can all see with our eyes that half of this squad is fucking SHITE
  13. Exactly. If he doesn't want to spend any fucking money and has the gall to come out and call us all spoilt for wanting signings, then Klopp, JK Rowling and the team need to show us why this current crop deserve believing in.
  14. Wonder if Jurgen will give us some more of his sanctimony after this game too. You're right Jurgen, we definitely aren't fucking playing Monopoly but based on the shite I've seen us serve up this season I'd much rather watch a game of that.
  15. we are fucking shit. wake the fuck up. we are walking into an equalizer.
  16. fucking hell we have been utter fucking wank and yet somehow walk in with a 2-1 lead. It was painful watching that, hopefully the second half doesn't make me want to rip my eyeballs out as much.
  17. "We have to collect money for a bit, then we can spend. That is how we work." #lfc [sky]
  18. From what I've read recently, Inter are desperate for money. It feels like we always get good deals with clubs who are in need of a sale. Benfica and Brighton don't strike me as needing to sell. Go and put down 70m for Nico Barella, 52m up front and the rest in bonuses. If it gets rejected then fair fucks, but he'd be an insane signing and actually worth the money. Funnily Bellingham has often mentioned him as one of his favorite midfielders so bringing him in might make it easier to buy Jude in the summer.
  19. News is that they are now not wanting to sell but to sell off a portion to investors, like they did with selling 10% of FSG to RedBird. They are going to sell off $1Bn to help fund another sports investment and we're going to be tight cunts forever more. Then I'm going to log onto here everyone continue to attest that they don't take money out of the club. Dave U will record another podcast and say there is no proof that they have taken a dime out of the club. Milner will be playing as RW in 2026. All will e well.
  20. This is infuriating though because its something folks have said for a long time. For what its worth, the current model can work if it was supplemented with some additional investment. If FSG self funded the infrastructure investment we've made, that would have made free 150-250m GBP of the clubs money over the past 4 years. That goes a long way. Likewise, a lot of people on here are longing for an "FSG Plus", somebody who retains the same fiscal policy we currently have in place with some supplemental owner-funded investment on top. Guess what, FSG are very capable in being that FSG Plus. That is where my anger towards them stems from - their disregard for their duty to invest in the playing squad and the tunnel vision on maximizing profit. It's all because they want to buy another sports franchise in the US, which is fine, but for me, that makes them shit owners for LFC. Anyone who thinks otherwise should genuinely assess whether they care more about the success of Fenway Sports Group's sports investment fund or Liverpool FC. Because for years FSG have been making decisions to the detriment of the latter for the benefit of the former - that is completely indisputable.
  21. Thanks man. I actually can't be arsed coming on here sometimes and will probably delete my account soon. It's funny because everything I've (and others) have questioned about the owners is slowly unravelling to be true and even still you have people on here telling you there's nothing to see. They are happy to sacrifice sporting health of the club to inflate their asset value (book health > squad health) They actively restrict spending and tell the manager and recruitment team 'no', contrary to the thought that Jurgen vetoes transfers. We only invest in infrastructure as it is club-funded (we paid for it ourselves, entirely), even though it ultimately inflates their profit at sale. Alternatively, they could have funded infrastructure spend (as it would have come back to them at sale) and the club could have used that money on transfers and had a more competitive team, and won more honors. The only reason they care about the club being "self-sustaining" is because it is increases their profit at sale. They are selling us with a squad that needs investment that can not possibly be achieved through self-sustenance. So any new owner will simply not have the ability to follow a self-sustaining model. Anyway, type out half this shit just to vent to be honest because you have to be a donut not to already know half of it.
  22. No proof FSG have withheld funds from Jurgen they told us. @JamesPearceLFC: It has not all been plain sailing for Julian Ward. #Liverpool were dealing with a midfield injury crisis in August and FSG was reluctant to commit significant funds, so Ward ended up signing Juventus’ Arthur on loan on deadline day
  23. I was taking the piss...read the sentence again. I don't have a strong opinion on him but I remember he was linked with us a few years ago. He is somewhat of a right wing despot and accrued his wealth through navigating ruthless capitalism (and corruption, which is the status quo in India), but that is true for almost every billionaire. He (his institutions) was also questionably benefiting from the farmers acts India passed and which would have rendered an entire diaspora within India subject to corporate slavery - as a Punjabi, I do have some personal sensitivity around that. However, none of the above would make him a bad owner and I actually think he sounds like one of the better suitors that have been mentioned. From what I know of him (little), he made the majority of his investments through equity investments and he's a "bad guy" the same way Jeff Bezos is.
  24. Listen, I'm now a dual British and American citizen, I have every right to call my own kind cunts. It's sort of like how you can beat the shit of out your brother but nobody else daren't.
