Who gives a fuck what we've spent? It doesnt mean that we havent got the makings of an excellent side. We've a top keeper, and our back 4 is as solid as it has been for years. Add Lucas, Gerrard and Suarez to the mix and you've got the makings of a pretty good side. All it needs is a little fine tuning. Regardless of whether Downing and Adam had come in and been a bit better than they have been, they still would have been squad players in the long run. People are going off on one about the money spent and moaning about the league form (which is fair game) but please look at the bigger picture and realise, that, like 2005, there are excellent players there who will excel even further with a bit of fine tuning. This is exacerbated by suarez playing up front on his own as his natural game is to come looking for the ball. Contradicting yourself there. He's played on his own up front more than a few times & we look all the better for it.

Swansea have the makings of a good team, they've been inconsistent in the League too. Inconsistent = not good enough. Comparisons between Rafas 1st season mean fuck all, they're not relevant in the slightest. Rafa came in & made us hard as fuck to beat, bought a top class mid in Alonso, added Garcia who he got the most out of, brought the very best out of Gerrard & was tactically sound. Also bought Josemi & Nunez for small fees. All this for around 20m. So he bought well, spending relatively little,was tactically sound, & knew his best formation/team. Can we say that about Kenny?

times have changed mate, the game is more about finance now. Financial fair play coming in, no Champs League, loss of big money revenues.
