  1. He's on intnl duty with Spain like Nando and Pepe. I'm sure if they weren't they'd all be there.
  2. That's McEachran plays a bit like Wilshere all left foot and that with excellent technique. Noel Blake was saying on the video that the game was a platform for both Shelvey and McEachran to display their talents but from the video it was all Shelvey. Quite a feat considering how highly rated the Chav kid is.
  3. So we think Milevskiy is shit on these boards as well? Didn't know that. I've always thought he had quality. But what do I know?
  4. He's a foreign player new to the league. Some of them hit the ground running, most of them don't. The best recent example has to be Malouda, looked shit for two seasons and then it all clicked last season. Give the guy time.
  5. Like I said I used to view him as another Tiago right up until about 2 seasons ago. From that point on it just seemed like everything clicked for him. He actually reminds me of Lampard in that he has no outstanding attributes (maybe his finishing and shooting) but is strong in most areas. He's an old school player does a bit of everything, will he work here? You never can tell. Lets hope eh;)
  6. Seen this guy many times over the years in the champs league and he always seemed like a bits and pieces type player and I could never figure out quite what he did a bit like his compatriot Tiago. However in the last two seasons or so he started to catch my eye with some astute passing, excellent off the ball movement and an excellent shot. In fact it probably coincided with Lucho leaving Porto, Raul had to take more responsibility. Anyway whatever it was it did the trick, he's an excellent player. Now for Ruiz or Toivonen, Inler (If we sell Lucas I'd prefer him over Lass and Mo Diarra, better passer whilst being almost as good defensively) and a LB. I'm not going to say Konchesky as this potential transfer has come out of the blue then it is possible that Roy could have a LB up his sleeve.
  7. This I think is the crux of the matter. When Rafa was in charge because he was so good tactically you always knew you had a chance in the big games no matter how shit we were playing prior. The 2-0 win against the Mancs last season is a case in point. What irritated me against city was that they did to us what we have been doing to teams for years, totally controlled the game (midfield) and took their chances when they came along. Maybe because I've been so indoctrinated by Rafas philosophy I saw the remedy as taking off N'Gog and bringing on another player centrally, preferably Poulson, in order to wrestle back control of the game. So you can imagine how bemused I and many others were when this never happened. The only I can thing I can think of was that Roy saw what Spurs did using their 442 and tried to emulate it. I like Roy, I for one do think he knows what he's doing and I believe we will improve. I actually think that if we would have had Masch or even Poulsen in the team then the result may have been different. Lucas, as much as I've supported him over the years, just seems not suited to our league and I now think he never will be. Just not physical enough unfortunately. I don't think people hate Roy I just think a lot of us believe that with Rafa at the helm we may have lost but not in that fashion. I can't remember the last time I've seen outplayed tactically like that. I'm giving Roy time though, all new managers need it. No knee jerking here.
  8. I find it quite funny when people say Rafa is going to get credit for winning with Joses squad but seem to forget that when Jose took over Inter were already champions. When he won just the league in his first year I never heard anyone suggesting he did it with Mancinis squad....
  9. Exactly. Nothing to see here move on.
  10. How highly do you rate him Dave? Do you think he could step up to the reserves now?
  11. Well he's now cup tied as far as the Europa League goes as he's playing now for PSV as we speak.
  12. That would be excellent business to be honest. I like Babel but I just don't think he'll ever fulfill his potential here and it's best to get rid now whilst we'll still get a good price.
  13. I think you're probably right. I read somewhere that a dutch journalist asked Toivonen about the link to us and he declined to comment. This tells me the clubs are in discussion, as if he wasn't coming he'd simply say I'm not going. I think we've made an offer, PSV think it's low and they're trying to call our bluff by saying he's not for sale and putting him in the squad for tonights Europa League game as a threat to cup tie him. I expect an announcement as some point today saying we've agreed a fee.
  14. I agree with you there. The whole Remy thing I find very strange as I've seen him about eight times and I haven't seen him have a good game yet. His agent is a genius.
  15. Hence why I'm in:biggrin: Why do I feel a bit gay now??
  16. Yeah it's the one your thinking of.
  17. Wow, really? I'm not saying he's pulled up any trees but you can't deny the goals and assists. I know a lot of you on these boards were desperate for Rafa to go but using this signing to still bash him with after he's gone is poor form.
  18. As much as you dislike the thoughht of Lucas and Aquilani playing you can't deny that Diaby and Wilshere had Gerrard and Masch in their pockets. I don't know why some people have developed this dislike of Aquilani. The guy tries when he plays. Sometimes he's good and sometimes he's not so good. That smacks of a foreign player getting used to the league which 90% of foreign players go through. Some of you I feel are being unduly harsh.
  19. Pepe is easily the coolest mofo on our team. Plus I saw a picture of him when he was on holiday and he was hanging with a woman with the one of the fittest arses I've seen in a while. Pepe = cool no question!!!!
  20. Mate Kaka, Milan 2007 run to Champ League final. Kaka was out of this world that year, some of the best no. 10 play you're ever likely to see.
  21. Well that is true, I can't argue with that. It does have a bit of a tree hugger culture to it but there are some good lads and discussions over there.
