  1. It's not the defences fault, all down to the midfield
  2. Spearing was pretty good in my opinion, one or two poor decisions or instances where he was a little slow but it was his first start for the first team so the positives more than made up for any of the negatives tonight, some lovely passes and he seems to know when to be positive and go direct, unlike Lucas some times. Hope he gets some more chances in a good run in the League Cup this year, good to see it being taken seriously with a good blend of squad players and first team players. Good stuff Rafa. Thought we were comfortable against a team who've had a ridiculously good run of home form recently and this was a massive game for them, could have been easier but it was still comfortable.
  3. Degen is the biggest clown i've ever seen at defending, plays well against a League 1 team and people on here now rate him, lol.
  4. Champions League at home v Chelsea last season, we could have been annihilated if Chelsea took their chances, never seen our midfield dominated so badly. Yep, Lucas was playing. Spearing can't do much worse.
  5. I just read this on RAWK, wow. You just know he's serious too.
  6. I agree with all of this. I honestly think we're fucked.
  7. Clearly. We're fucked without him, nobody can control a game like him or even come close really, can see us losing quite a few games this year.
  8. If you asked our players which system they feel more comfortable using i'm pretty sure they'd go with man marking. Our players just don't look comfortable and confident in standing positions when the ball is played with men attacking the ball, confidence in the system might be a problem IMO. It makes us look silly too often, too many soft and simple goals we concede from set pieces which could so easily have been avoided, can people deny that? I certainly don't feel confident when we're defending set pieces anyways. Maybe just me, people must have 100% faith in zonal marking all the time and never worry about it.
  9. Lol, do people really have full confidence in zonal marking? I don't think our players are particularly good defenders of set pieces regardless of the system but teams must have so much confidence when they get a set piece against us because it's zonal marking and tbh most managers don't rate it, their is more ways to exploit it than their is to man marking that's for sure.
  10. You'll get abused, but I am absolutely sick of it too, not having men on the posts is a joke, it's saved United a few goals already this season.
  11. The Man Utd game was one game. What about Fulham at home last season, Stoke away, Chelsea at home in the CL etc off the top of my head. If we had a midfielder capable of getting control of a game against a team like Fulham and Stoke when Alonso was out and we created and had more control, someone who could make us tick like Alonso in those two games we would have created more and possibly won an extra 4 points in the league and be Champions! Did Lucas contribute enough in many games last season to say he played a major role in 3 points? Newcastle away maybe but their a Championship team. He also got sent off in the FA Cup v Everton, came on in the league against Everton, instantly gives away a needless free kick, that leads to another free kick and a goal, gives away a penalty against Wigan, another 2 points dropped. I honestly think Lucas was the main culprit in us not winning #19 last year. I can't post on Liverpool forums at the moment, the Lucas dick sucking is making me seethe with rage to be honest. One of our best players yesterday? Must have low standards for such a player in one of the most key positions on the pitch. He's had over 80 appearances now for the club, just can't believe he has so many supporters for what he's shown, he can't live on his reputation from the Brazilian league forever. I really hope Aquilani comes back soon and stays injury free because from the times I've seen him for Roma he's 10 times the player Lucas is. Lucas and Mascherano is definitely an average midfield, not sure how anyone can deny it, if Aquilani still has injury problems I think we'll sadly see a lot of Lucas and Masch.
  12. One penalty = 5 goals? Spurs would have bottled it anyways imo. We still had 88 minutes or whatever it was to score a goal at home against Stoke after that free kick, was that the refs fault? Also Torres was obstructing the keepers view of the ball and he was probably slightly offside. We've had plenty of decisions go our way this season.
  13. Wouldn't like van Persie, very inconsistant, scores some brilliant goals but doesn't offer an awful lot more when he's not scoring, plus he wastes a lot of good opportunities taking on the wrong shot or wrong pass. Plus he's injured a lot.
  14. All of that is the truth. Carrick will never be a top class midfielder, when he played in the friendly v Spain with Gareth Barry it was just hilarious the difference between the likes of Barry and Carrick against Spains midfield. When he has the likes of Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez, Berbatov etc making runs and the likes of Fletcher, Park and Anderson doing all the running for him he definitely has by far the easiest job in that United team, makes me sick how overrated he is, I used to play as a central midfielder and reckon I could do most of the things he does in one of his usual games. When United are in a battle against a quality side you will never see Carrick battling hard and getting United going again. I want to kill all the United fans who come out with the bollocks that he is the most underrated player in the world. Ask most people who is better, Carrick or Alonso and sadly most will say Carrick. Hope he gets shown up in the 2010 World Cup against the first decent team England play against when he's in an average team. Most people surely would know Masch is better than Fletcher though, I just pity anyone who would think otherwise. Bah I can't believe this United team is likely to win 3 league titles and 2 European Cups in 3 seasons. Sickening. Rafa has to get it right this summer. Arsenal are still inexperienced and most likely won't do fuck all, they have a lot to fix, Chelsea won't do fuck all either with Ancelotti imo and they'll need younger players so it's definitely going to be up to us to stop them next season again. Yep.
