I just don't see the huge criticism of the lad being fair. I remember reading about Gerrard getting really bad home sickness when he was young (only being away for a few weeks) so who knows what Henderson's background is . We have to remember that the lad is young and has moved to a big club with a large price tag and huge expectations. That carries a huge burden on someone and I can understand him not having the confidence and therefore taking the easy options. I see a lad with huge potential, who will learn a lot under Gerrard and a player that puts in a shift and works hard. That however does not mean he should be getting his game as much as he does and certainly not out of position. It surprises me how Shelvey doesn't get a look in and he does. What's he doing in training that he doesn't replicate on the pitch? I have been very critical of Carroll. I didn't feel he fitted our team and for the money was a waste. I didn't see much in him as a player but I still started criticising him only after seeing his lack of effort on the pitch. He seems to have changed that and I hope I am proved wrong. What I like in a young player is to see loads of energy and effort put in. I am not expecting them to be initially world class. I have also been critical of Adam but my reasoning is I don't believe he is or ever will be good enough for us. A worthy player on the subs bench when the first 11 are fit. The Downing issue is a strange one. He has all the attributes and experience. What he seems to lack his confidence like Henderson but being the age he is should man up. I have seen that the last few games and long may it continue.

I would love the club to start playing the media at their own game. Have all these ridiculous pictures of Suarez around black people, helping an old black lady across the road and similar over the top pics. Show pics of him with his family (some of them are black). Suarez is being pushed out of this country my this media circus. I don't think the majority of Liverpool fans are in any doubt that there is a clear agenda going on. We all know the state of the game and how the media plays it's part also. Those suggesting he didn't refuse really are clutching at straws. Even if Evra wasn't offering his hand as open as he was to others Suarez still knows he needed to make the effort to shake it and as all eyes are on him. I am more concerned with the fact that Kenny thought he was going to shake his hand. If they discussed it and he intimated to Kenny he would and then didn't well then Suarez is at fault. If Suarez intended not to then this needed to be known to the management so we could take the necessary actions to avoid another PR disaster. We could have let the FA know that we as a club were going to snub the handshakes for this game or something. I would find it very hard to shake his hand if i was Suarez but at the same time the club needs to be aware of your actions and avoid problems with it.

I completely agree with this. Spearing is not headless nor scared. His distribution isn't the greatest but he certainly isn't scared or headless and is a great player to have when Lucas is unavailable and we need a defensive midfielder playing. I love the guys passion and effort. He reminds me of a die-hard fan being put out to perform for the team and giving his all. Gerrard is best going forward and is wasted being cover defensively. Adam can't defend and if we are playing any sort of decent midfield he needs two players (non defensive) in the centre with him or someone of Lucas' and Spearings' style. It will be interesting to see if Kenny thinks he needs a dedicated defensive midfielder in the team. I hope he does as the thought of Adam and Gerrard being in the middle worries me. Even Gerrard and Henderson in there would be an option.

I can't see Bellamy, Carroll, Gerrard and Suarez starting but i'd like it. I'll go with Reina Glen Skrtel Agger Enrique Henderson Spearing Gerrard Bellamy Suarez Carroll Kenny will prob go with Downing instead of Bellamy and maybe even Kuyt instead of Suarez. Either way I hope Adam isn't playing as their midfield is very strong and him bashing into players giving them free kicks is not what we need tonight. Modric and Bale need to be watched all night.

Just saw a stat that shocked me. Dion Dublin signed for Utd in 92 for 1m. Played fuck all partly due to injury and was sold two years later. He played 12 matches in total scoring 3 goals and yet was sold for 2m. What the fuck is that all about?

If Carroll puts the same effort in as he did for the last 15mins I think we could actually see the player we bought. He was winning everything and making himself a nuisance. Great goal from Kuyt, lovely finish. We really needed to win this with many of their key players injured. I hope this gives the team confidence now to get 4th, win the Carling and do well in the FA cup.

I would love to know who signed him and who sanctioned giving him 70-80K a week plus bonuses. He was even injured when we signed him so what was the panic for exactly? A huge risk and it just made no sense on any level. Saying we could have got the likes of Ageuro is ridiculous but we could have easily just spent the money on two players who were fully fit and weren't English. Why would we spunk 35m and triple their current salary. It baffled me at the time and grates on me now. His style of play doesn't even suit our game.

Seems like an alright lad to have a few beers with, not sure you would trust him however. I think he is a good manager and plays attractive football. The fact clubs have had financial problems after he has been there can't be solely down to him. People sign off on whatever signings he makes so they need to be looked at rather than him. A manager needs to be told what constraints to work under, if he isn't given any then it is not his fault if the club can't handle it financially.

Positives are that Chelsea drew so only 1 point lost in our pursuit for 4th. This being such an embarrassing result and performance it may force Kenny to make some key decisions re offloading the shite even though we take huge losses on them. He then can go out into the market and get us some much needed players. Managers make mistakes but it is how and if you correct those mistake that are key. I think we all feel we need a clinical striker and a right mid ideally a defensive mid too. Selling Kuyt, Adam and Carroll should be done. I don't think any fan would be disappointed if he shipped out some of his signings now and had another go. Persisting with them is fatal and I would hate to see Kenny having to leave this club less a legend in any fans eyes. Adam and Carroll should just be sold in this window even though they are new to the team. I am still not sure about Downing. I think he just needs to give it more of a go and get some confidence in him. Henderson should be slowly bedded in to the team in central midfield only. Henderson is young and has some attributes that show some promise. He is just not there yet. Adam is a pub player, his range of passing has deserted him and it is just so frustrating watching him barge into players needlessly all the time. He looks so unfit, how can a prem player look so knackered after 5mins? Carroll is a waste of space and just has no heart or desire to succeed here judging solely on his effort and body language on the pitch. We also do not play to his supposed strengths so playing him is futile. Downing just seems to lack confidence. It amazes me how a player can reach his level playing as a winger but look like he doesn't have the winning mentality and the desire to try things. It seems like he rather take the easy safe option instead of trying to be a menace to a full back. He is not a young guy and should really back himself and his talent more than he does. Regardless of how poor I think our signings have been (solely taking into account their abilities as so called footballers), even I could not envisage just how little effort some of them put in. Wearing the Liverpool shirt means you should be prepared to run through brick walls for the team. I just don't see that with most of our players. Not having Suarez and Lucas has hurt us badly and without Speo covering the defence we are too easy to break down. Teams know they can break us down as our central midfield is shite when Adam and Gerrard are there. We are now not only failing to score but failing to create. Worrying times. All is not lost but big decisions need to be made and acted upon. I just hope Kenny can take a dent in his short term pride for the maintaining of his legendary status in the long term. This result hurts but I would be inconsolable if the fans were to turn on Kenny when he has come back to try and save us. His signings have been poor and his line ups, tactics and substitutions questionable but he can turn this around if he stops persisting with wasters who are not fit to wear the shirt. The players deserve a bollicking after this and need to step up for each and every game not just the glamour games against the big boys. This is a big week for us and beating the Mancs teams will surely get some pride back and could be a much needed catalyst for the rest of the season.

I'd much prefer a Shit player of the match. Every week the man of the matches are Suarez, Bellamy, Maxi or Enrique if they are playing. Different weeks have them changing their order. We also usually get good performances from Skrtel, Agger, Johnson/Kelly and Lucas/Speo. Now with Gerrard starting to get match fit he will be in the top 3 every time. Shit players will be in this order nearly every game: Carroll Adam Downing Henderson Shocking signings with only Henderson with any hope of becoming something of any real value in the future.

I don't think people seem to comprehend the importance of 4th. Without it Reina and Suarez will be gone and forget about getting any sort of quality players next summer.

Seriously worried now if Kenny's comments about not bringing someone in are accurate. His job is on the line come the end of the season as FSG will not put up with this mediocre shite and nor should they. I thought Downing was bought to supply Carroll yet they are never on the pitch the same time. 55m wasted and it just can't be defended by any sane person. There was no resale value in either and neither even justified the initial fee. Is it really true that Carroll is also on 80K? Who the fuck sanctioned that? If we have no money to buy anyone now it makes that 55m spend even more shocking as we are not City that can spunk money away for fun. Enrique is the only good buy they have made with Henderson and Coates looking like they may have promise. I am willing to give Downing a chance as he has some sort of attributes that a professional footballer should have ie he is not as slow as me. I actually would fancy myself in a sprint against Carroll and Adam. How can they even be considered professional footballers. They would be considered unfit back when football started let alone with the culture change in the game. Kuyt as a lone striker and then Carroll to help him. Is any team actually going to care about that. It's obvious that Kuyt needs to be sold while he's still worth something and Carroll should also even though we are taking a massive hit on him. Buy one good player with that and we can still salvage something this season without massive investment. We really had a good chance of 4th and if we fail to get it then I'm afraid the buck stops with Kenny's failure to progress after his promising start. no-one in infallible. I still believe Kenny is the best man to progress the team. I just hope he is really up to it and it was not just my blind faith in the man.

The fact that no evidence and the mere fact of probability is enough to get him an 8 match ban is ridiculous and makes a mockery of real racism. As a club I would have our players act like the perfect players in all matches and any opposing player who curses/abuses one our players should be reported. I'd even go so far as to lie (as Evra has done) and start saying things like I was called Whitey etc. The FA would have to investigate every report we make the cunts.
